Frank Prowse Hi-Fi

Jacob installed 26 of the Vicoustic Wavewood Ultra Lite panels in my home theatre room and did an excellent job. He was very professional and offered advice regarding the fine tuning of the placement of some of the panels. The room looks superb, but even better is the improvement made to the coherence of the music. Dave Prowse was very knowledgeable in providing me options for the room treatments and even drove to my place to deliver the panels himself. All round it was an excellent result and service provided by Dave and Jacob. Unfortunately as my room is naturally dark, the photos do not do justice to the overall finish.

I've been a regular customer since 1997. Gear and service you can trust. Dave Prowse and the team won't sell it if it doesn't meet their quality standards. They back up their products with excellent customer service and support. Family business and quality people. Buy with confidence.

I came into the store with my Mum and met with Dave. I originally enquired about the Wharfedale Elysian 4 speaker. From the very start my Mum and I were treated with respect and shown what that speaker can do. After being set up and asked if we would like a coffee or tea, we listened to many demostration songs and were very impressed with the sound even though we did not purchase that that model. After a little think, I chose a cheaper speaker and was shown the same level of respect. A deposit was paid, they arrived in perfect condition and paid the rest of the balance. Dave delivered the speakers and helped me set them up and had another friendly chat. I love my Monitor Audio Gold 300. Excellent sound! Thank you so very much! We will back but I don’t know when as I am well catered for!

I had a great experience with Jacob who helped me purchase a turntable and speaker setup as a Christmas gift. He was knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and was able to help me find the right equipment within my price range. I would not hesitate to recommend to others :)

We’ve purchased a bit of gear from Frank Prowse Hi-Fi over the years and have always come away happy and satisfied. The other day, I wanted to resurrect my LP collection, and had a chat with the proprietor, Dave. I told him my budget and my preferences, and came away with a turntable/cartridge combination that looks and sounds great! I didn’t even need to set it up - all done for me when I picked it up from the shop. For sane and sensible advice about audio, there’s no better place in Perth.

As a long time customer of Frank Prowse Hi Fi (30 years +), I was shocked and horrified when I read a scathing review from a customer last week who was seeking assistance with a Bose Bluetooth Speaker. In all my dealings with Dave and other staff throughout the years, I have never found them to be anything other than genuine, sincere, courteous and above all, extremely helpful. Their knowledge of the products the store sells is extensive and Dave always makes every attempt to meet my home entertainment needs in line with my budget and expectations. Further, the after sales service I’ve received has always been prompt and reliable.

Once again Dave, Barb & the team have helped resuscitate a very old turntable, amp and speakers that have huge sentimental value. Doubt they do it for the money, simply appreciated what it meant to us to have it in working order. When it does eventually die (it must or it will go to a museum!) we will ask their advice as to what its replacement might be - as they respect quality sound in a way that the more common low-fi retailers cannot. First class service.

Over the years I've had the pleasure of dealing with Dave and his team many times and have invariably been impressed by the equipment, knowledge and respect shown to me. It's an over-used expression but the service at Frank Prowse Hi-Fi is simply second to none. Whether you are buying or just popping in for a listen you are always welcomed and never pressured. If you want the best quality Hi-Fi equipment and service there is nowhere better in WA and, I suspect, Australia.

Dave and the team at Frank Prowse HiFi have assisted us a number of times over the years, and each time have exceeded my expectations. Their initial proposal for a sound and vision system pushed our audio-visual experience to a new level without pushing my wallet, and each time we have upgraded a component the result has been excellent. I am an old hi fi and music lover from way, way back and since the closure of Vince Ross have felt an absence in the Perth market of a hi fi store where my passion was matched by those working in the profession. I bought a new turntable on special from another dealer but wanted to up grade the cartridge and by accident ended up at Frank Prowse Hi Fi who supplied a wonderful new moving coil cartridge but also set it professionally on the turntable. The information supplied to me, the advice, and the service was as good as I have ever experienced in Perth, it was a real pleasure to be served by you guys and I can’t thank you enough for restoring my faith in good old fashion service. It is now my new hi fi home in Perth!

So knowledgeable & a pleasure to deal with. Mark could not have been more helpful. They were able to be competitive on price too. Much more flexible on delivery than other stores I've dealt with. Why wouldn't you support a local business which can give such personal service!

Mark and Dave are knowledgeable sales staff. They listen to what you require and hone in on the product that will suit your system and more importantly budget. They are very competitive when it comes to price, if you ask politely. The best thing is they will sell you what you require, not what gives them the best profit margin. They don't push brands and let you listen to multiple brands so you can get a sense of what you like.

I purchased my first NAD T741 AV Receiver from Frank Prowse HiFi from their Glyde St showoom back in 2001 and naturally went back for the eventual upgrade in 2022. No surprise to see such good operators still delivering all these years later. Amazing equipment and service.
