Grounds For Coffee

Cappuccino was the nicest cafe coffee I've had in a while around Mount Barker.
Staff friendly, we had croissant and melting moment, both very nice! Highly recommend.

The girls working here are so nice. The two cafe’s near it occasionally have better coffee or better food (none are consistently better) but what sets this place apart is the staff! Keep them happy and we’ll keep coming back!

And that wood fire on chilly days 🔥 definitely run that more often when it’s colder!

I was visiting Mt Barker for work in June when I stumbled across this little gem of a coffee shop. From the first sip of my 6:30am long black coffee hit I was blown away. So much so that I had to get a bag of beans for home, for which I was definitely not disappointed. From then on Grounds For Coffee was my go to cafe.

This has been my fave go-to coffee shop in Mt Barker for years now. Recent visit with my bookgroup. Great food, manager/owner is amazing. One of our meals didn't come out until the rest of our group had finished eating. Because of the lateness, the cost of the meal was refunded. I feel this was wonderful and attentive service.
We had a group of 8. The cafe is very small, so large groups may get a little squishy, but it is a very cosy space.

Very nice coffee. Friendly and quick service. The breakfast menu has so much variety. Why not, to have with your coffee.

Great coffee and a a GF citrus tart that was divine, what more could I want? The service was awesome too, and staff really friendly, forgot that bit!

Stopped in for a coffee and a roll on the way though town. Service was friendly and fast. Food was delicious. Would highly recommend

Quaint little family owned coffee shop serving good wholesome food. Nice and cosy with a fireplace in winter time and outdoor seating in summer

Yesterday we had an amazing bagel for lunch, fresh and filled with flavours.
Left a bag at table when we departed which we discovered when we reached Murray Bridge. As we were unable to get back to cafe before closing, one of the staff dropped the bag off to a family member in MB
So not only friendly service in cafe but went extra mile.
Very grateful and glad we have such a great cafe in Mount Barker, our fave "go to" when visiting MB from Hindmarsh Island.

Grounds has amazing coffee and even better staff who welcome you in the door every time. As a regular now i’ve gotten to know the some of the workers and they are just lovely. definitely recommend popping your head in for a visit!

Best coffee in the Adelaide hills. Great staff, great management with magnificent food and coffee. My go to coffee house.

Didn't try the (good lookin) food, but the coffee and service were brilliant. There was a nice long fire at the end keeping the winter at bay. Intimate setting to have a cup, cake and conversation.

Has quickly turned into my favourite coffee shop. Food delicious, coffee amazing, staff are friendly, and the fireplace is a welcome relief from the cold.

I had an almond milk coffee and zucchini frittas, they were quick to serve and were very nice.
