PS Emmylou Cruises, Murray River Echuca

My wife and I have just returned from a three day cruise on the PS EmmyLou, downstream and back from the historic port of Echuca in Victoria. Despite adverse weather (not usual at this time of year) the entire ‘voyage’ was magnificent. The food and dining arrangements were memorable, the food being prepared in the tiniest of galleys was a credit to the brilliant chef. The communal areas of the boat are fully air conditioned so changing weather conditions are not all challenging.
The atmosphere with its limited number of lucky cruisers was always a sheer delight with a fantastic commentary along the way and who will forget our skipper Warren whose singing all the songs we love, weather permitting around a camp fire. AND!! a huge ‘shout out’ for the delightful and competent hostess Julie, who treated as all like honored guests and always with a warm smile. The historic steam engine in pristine condition and tendered by our engineer Geoff kept the Paddle wheels ‘paddling’, the throb of which is a beautiful yet gentle back ground rhythm. Just ‘do it’…. It’s a trip of a life time, you won’t regret it. Peter & Maggie Matheson.

We were on the Canberra fantastic ride on the Murray the people operating this boat are fantastic highly recommended it as a must do in Echuca.

Last week we did a 4 night cruise on the PS Emmylou, from Torrumbarry to Echuca. Apart from 1 day of rain all day and a couple of cool nights our trip was fantastic. Our crew Skipper Neal, Caleb, Julie and Greg were the best. Friendliness, helpfulness, 5 star food and drink service made for a very pleasant cruise. Off shore excursions were very good and informative. Would love to do it all again and looking forward to travelling on the new PS Australia Star in the future.

We highly recommend the Emmylou Murray River Cruise. Everybody who worked on the paddle steamer showed each passenger kindness, care and respect. The culinary delights prepared by our amazing chef Greg was of the highest quality. Julie, our maitre'd went above and beyond in meeting all of the passenger's needs. Her service was impeccable. The Captain Scott and engineers Anthony and Geoff were highly professional and very kind. Our tour guides and drivers Rowan, Beth, Ross and Scott were exceptional also. The trip down the beautiful Murray River was a wonderful and relaxing experience. It will never be forgotten! From Angela and John Moses.

Went on the Emmylou for 6nights. What a lovely cruise and the crew are incredible. The food is out of this world fit for the queen. You will not be disappointed. All we can say is you will not get a better holiday on the Murray i. Don’t think about it just do it Ron and Joy

Had a great lunch cruise the food and extensive drink list is fantastic. It's so relaxing and to just watch the river till by and get great commentary from the crew was perfect. Would highly recommend doing the two hour lunch cruise perfect

Today we enjoyed our cruise on the mighty Murray River on the PS Emmylou (2 hour) 3 course meal, the meals were lovely and the space between each course was spot on, the staff were great and very friendly, we would highly recommend this cruise great value for money

Fantastic. It was so lovely and relaxing to be on the Murray, the teens enjoyed learning about paddlesteamers and the history of them. The scones were delicious. The staff were great!

Loved the cruise commentary all along the way from the Skipper. As promised, was allowed to steer the paddle steamer.. very cool and calm aboard the cruise!! Recommended!

Great 1 hour trip on the Murray River

A must have experience when visiting the Swan Hill Pioneer settlement. Lovely relaxing trip up the Murray River.

Recently my husband and I went on a dinner cruise on the Emmylou. It was really nice very relaxing ride, the staff were very accommodating and the food tasted good.
