Monis botanical cafe

My sister and I had lunch at Moni’s; my sister having received a gift voucher from local family. What an absolute delightful and delicious experience! The cafe is such a beautiful vintage building with plenty of charm and that comes third though to the excellent food and drink we enjoyed!

I had the gluten free quiche with Moni’s special salad. I don’t need GF but the wholesome, delicate quiche had me gobbling it up fast alongside the local fresh greens and colours of the salad - a boon of flavours and Malanda goodness. 😊
My sister had the tomato pesto and chicken open sandwich on Moni’s home baked sir dough and that was just as delicious (sisters are very kind to share!:)). Boy! Can Moni cook! And then there was the homemade lemonade - a real treat indeed. The service was lovely with the team all working so well together.

I later was at a family lunch which Moni had been asked to cater for that same weekend. Golden delicious lasagne, quiche, super moist and tangy carrot cake with cream cheese icing, and the MOST amazing brownies - and more of that soft, earthy sourdough! What a feast! And our birthday girl got the most beautiful big bunch of flowers artfully arranged from Moni’s other talent apparently - flower arranging/sales! Where else do you need to go, it seems!

So I clearly obviously recommend the cafe and thank the team for my lovely weekend 🙏

Delicious food, great and friendly service.
Moni is a Aussie-Swiss Mom that has a passion for flowers too, so there are nice bouquets everywhere in the cafe.
We chose sweet swiss crepes with chocolate and banana respectively strawberries. Big crepes, werved with ice cream.

Gorgeous cafe in Malanda - a ‘hidden gem’. The coffee is amazing, and they use locally sourced milk, including lactose-free. Home made goodies looked amazing: fresh, tasty, generous serves. This is the first place we’ve come across that offers a half serve of bacon and eggs - love that!
The people serving match the place: friendly, generous and truly delightful. Marking it on our map to return again!

Great cafe. Very fresh wholesome food. Quaint little eating areas that offer privacy. Super helpful staff. Didn’t have a coffee as it was late in the day but my radar says it would be good. I loved the homemade kumbuca. Moni makes her own fresh sour dough bread too. 😋 Definitely give Moni and her team a go. They also sell flowers and home made produce

Recently, I came to know about this lovely cafe and had to go and check it out. I did. Having enjoyed my dining experience, I will be going there again at times when visiting Malanda. Lovely interior, enjoyed the food. Moni and her staff member Rachel, who served our food and drinks, were absolutely wonderful! PS: On a later occasion, I happened to pop in to the Cafe, seeing the entrance door was half open. When I stepped inside, I could smell the lovely fresh baking of the cakes at the time, so yummy! Moni greeted me with a friendly smile and informed me that it was their baking day and so the Cafe was closed, unfortunately. I shall keep track of the Cafe's open days, and will be going back for more enjoyable food and customer service - great dining experience!

What a lovely spot. A sugar-sweet little café, furnished with attention to detail. We popped in for breakfast today and were more than impressed. Moni and her team are very friendly. And the food was sooooo delicious. We can only recommend everyone to make a stop here. There are also a lot of beautiful mosaic pictures everywhere in the small town.

Hands down Best coffee in the tablelands. And I’m a coffee snob, so finding great coffee is usually hard, but this place served the best by far and is considerably priced.

Best home cooked food on the Tableland. Worth a visit to Malanda just to go to this cafe 😀

This cafe has some of the best food I have ever tasted, the service was amazing and it was super cosy. Definitely recommend!

My wife and I went here twice, and both times had excellent coffee, treats and service. It’s a beautiful space, and the friendly staff really make it a great place to sit and have a nice break from whatever you happen to be doing. We highly recommend the passion fruit slice and the banana bread 🙂.

Had lunch here with a friend today. Delicious fresh food with a price tag anyone could afford. Air-conditioned. Staff extremely helpful. They care about your comfort and their food. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending this lovely eatery. Will definitely be going back again and again.
