Get Shucked on Bruny Island is the holy grail of oyster lovers! These oysters are so incredibly creamy; you'll swear you've found an oyster paradise.

The line may be long at noon, but trust me, it's worth every second of the wait. Once you taste these oysters, you'll understand why people line up for a bite of this oyster perfection. Don't miss out on the oyster experience of a lifetime at Get Shucked! 🌊🦪👌

Really fresh plump oysters that are delicious, loved the natural ones with the sauces, they also have Kirkpatrick and fried for those who like them cooked. Nice cider too
Clean place, great service. Thanks Kenny!

Get Shucked Oyster experience on Burny Island exceeded all expectations, especially in terms of size and freshness. The oysters, a whopping two times larger than those I had in perth Australia, delivered an indulgent sensation with each bite.

The taste was also incredibly fresh, with a distinct flavor that allowed you to savor the natural brininess of the sea. The hint of salt was a perfect complement, enhancing the overall oyster experience.

What impressed me equally was the reasonable pricing, considering the island setting. At $30 for a dozen, the cost aligns well with the exceptional quality of the oysters. Get Shucked provides a luxurious yet accessible option for those seeking a premium oyster experience on Burny Island.

Highly anticipated visit to this place. Heard so many great things about the quality of the oysters.

Arrived around 11:30am and was greeted by a massive line that extended out to the gravel pathway. Recommend going early as by the time we left the front gates were closed off and no longer accepted new customers.

I’m not sure if all year round the ferry ride to the island is long, but we waited roughly an hour before boarding the ferry. So get in line early is highly recommended.

The venue doesn’t have a wide range of dish options. Ended up ordering the natural, 2x dozens, and a mixed dozen which includes kilpatrick and deep fried. They also had massive oysters which were $15 for 2 and was explained that they are rare and not available all year round.

Had the natural oysters to start off with. Applied a small splash of lemon and went straight into it. Due to the freshness of it, the fishiness of seafood was at its bare minimum. The texture of when biting into it was off the charts. Its creaminess and the overall flavours that bursts into your mouth is next level oysters.

The kilpatricks were a bit too salty for my taste buds and would rank it at the bottom. To my surprise the deep fried oysters were actually really nice. The overall batter they used was amazing. The crunch into it was perfect!

The venue has limited seating and many had sat down to reserve it with their friends waiting in line to order. However, the turnaround time is not that long so by the time you reach the counter to order, there should be a spot available. They do offer a drive thru window which is quicker but the food is served in take away containers.

Will definately crave these Bruny Island Oysters again and can’t wait to return back for more. Definitely and highly recommend it to oyster lovers. Was also concerned about the amount of oysters consumed but was very comfortable on the stomach and no after effects occurred, the food seemed to be prepared with high quality hygiene levels.

A return visit to my favourite oyster place in Tasmania.

These guys do a great job with their oysters. The fresh natural oysters are the best option in our opinion and they are creamy, fresh and clean tasting.

However, the mixed tasting plate with Kilpatrick and crumbed fried options are also fantastic. Perfect pairing with some good quality white.

They do get a lot of tourist visitors so going early to mid morning would be recommended.

Definitely the best oysters we have ever had. Fresh out of the ocean to the plate. Tide to table. Panko Oysters are fantastic. Fresh oysters are so tasty and creamy. Perfectly shucked.
Friendly customer service.
Don't miss a highlight of Bruny Island.
Edit: had to come back for drive through the next day for more!

Get Shucked was the perfect pitstop. It's this little gem of an oyster farm with a bar right on the water. You can practically see where they harvest the oysters from your seat!

We grabbed a table outside and soaked up the sunshine. The staff were so friendly, explaining all the different types of oysters they had on offer. We went for a mix, some natural and some with a mignonette sauce, and they were honestly some of the freshest oysters I've ever had. So plump, juicy, and with a clean, salty flavor that just screamed "ocean."

It wasn't fancy by any means, just plastic tables and chairs, but that just added to the charm. We were right there on the water with the gulls calling and the smell of the sea air. It felt like a real, authentic experience, not some tourist trap.

Plus, the oysters were super reasonably priced, especially considering the quality. We ended up pairing them with some Tasmanian wine the staff recommended, and it was the perfect way to end the afternoon. I'd definitely recommend Get Shucked to anyone visiting Bruny Island!

One of Bruny Island's must go places. We went on an organized tour and this is one of the places they brought us to. And it's a good thing they did.

The oysters were so fresh. There are different ways of serving it so it would be good to try them all.

The price was reasonable - considering that it's very fresh and it's a tourist area.

At the back, you can some of many of their oyster "cages" which they use to raise the oysters in the nearby sea.

PRO TIP : They also serve some Tasmanian Lagers which goes well with the oysters

Literally my favorite oyster place in Tassie, provides a variety of cooked oysters, as well as some of the best raw oysters I have ever had!
Will come back to bruny island again and have 10 more dozens 😋

This is a must do when on Bruny Island! Opening hours are 10-4. The set up is good and allows groups to sit, enjoy the atmosphere and have a glass of wine or cidar. It also has a fabulous take away drive through section which we took full advantage of and avoided the queues lining up! The service was friendly, fast and made for an easy and enjoyable overall experience. The price of oysters is extremely reasonable, half the price of Hobart, and the taste much fresher and delicious! Highly recommend this stop for either a sit down experience or a take away delight!

Busy busy busy... I felt a bit sorry for the staff. The number of people there and the oysters they must go through... is mind blowing. But, the reality is, they still manage a smile (yes, even the shuckers in the open kitchen!) and get your order out relatively quickly... and... oh Mama!

The freshest natural oysters are my partner's favourite sea offering, and she was in heaven with the mixed dozen and a tassie ginger beer... which keeps me in the good books! The chips were spot on, too, with free condiments available (including vinegar) at your table... so salt and sauce to your heart's content (none of those annoying and wasteful packets).

Despite the bustle of a huge number of tourists, we managed to score two seats - at the little bar table overlooking the ocean. As the sun started to nestle over the water, we enjoyed a great little bite and sip of Tassie's freshest and finest, a lucky and yummy break from the road.

A side note: the traffic into the place was awful and clogged, especially by a car literally stationary across both lanes of the highway - crazy. So be prepared to be patient, drive with care (that goes for the whole island) as there is, strangely, heaps of parking once in. They also close early, or at possibly over-peak times due to the high demand and constant onslaught, I would guess. So, I'd advise getting there earlier than later... we somehow must have been one of the last dozen or so people in, as the entry gate had been closed and sign put up when we left shortly after.

These oysters were so fresh and delicious! If you can, try the jumbo oysters, they were super creamy. The staff were incredibly friendly, super talkative and very knowledgeable about the oysters and wines, which made it helpful to choose the best items. Also thanks Kenny for making this a fantastic morning.

Only way to get oyster as fresh as it comes in Bruny Island.
We had a dozen each of the natural and kilpatrick.
Prices are in keeping with inflation, went up 📈.
Met the owner who kindly have us the tempura oysters to try.

A must do for any oyster lover when visiting Bruny!

And if you can't stop long enough to enjoy the Pacific oyster delights on offer at the fully licensed oyster bar then you can always pick up a box (or two) of freshly shucked oysters at the drive through.

Check out their menu online.

1/2 dozen
2 Large

😊 Definitely the best oyster I had in my life. There's a reason for the fame of their oyster. Full of juicy & creamy flavor. Quite different from the oysters that I've tried in Asia. Will go back at off-season so that I could try the cooked ones.

🤔 One of the large oysters' taste was really amazing but the other one was really so so. Those were good to take photo but not really worth the price.

Was not disappointed with the oyster quality, as they are wonderful. The raw oysters are fatty, and they get shucked live so that you can watch the whole process. There are also kilkpatrick and crumbled oysters which are also quite tasty. Pricing is quite decent at 26-30 for a dozen.

Raw oysters can be served right after ordering, but cooked ones takes at least 20 minutes as they only cook after order, so be prepared to wait!

At peak times you line up at both the counter and … the toilet!
