Borumba Dam Picnic Grounds

Love this place , August mid is good for camping. All amenities are well managed , some foods, snacks, firewood you can buy it too. Lovely place.

A beautiful little dam, this is a great spot for family outings on the water. Not a lot of space for large groups and the dam gets choppy with boat wakes quite quickly. But still a wonderful dam for watersports and fishing.

Lovely place to take family and friends, even better if you've got a boat!

Borumba Dam is about 60km due west of Imbil following Yabba Creek Road out of the town. As you can see from these photos many millions of dollars have been spent on the dam the walkway on the dam that leads on to the other side of the Lake. It is a great place for boating enthusiasts and kids and their Mums and Dads to swim. But unfortunately the Wide Bay Burnette council responsible for this region hasn't provided enough facilities for the the elderly or disabled people. These photographs clearly show a disrespect for the needs of people using wheelchairs and their carers. There is no ramp access to this lookout and the toilets and showers need an urgent upgrade.

Lots of day use facilities. Nice peaceful feeling to sit down and slow down your pace.

One of the best places to go for a day trip on the water or camping.

Absolutely beautiful Dam. Awesome fishing and facilities. For the best experience go during the week to avoid the weekend wake warriors that spoil the serenity for everyone else. Weekends are always busy in Summer 👍

A hidden gem, need a boat to fully enjoy this place

Borumba Dam Picnic grounds is a day use facility. There is a large well run campsite nearby for those people who like to spend at least a night in the area. The day use area has shelters with picnic tables and benches, BBQ facilities, toilets. Nearby boat ramp allows access to the lake.
The area is very scenic and well worth visiting.

Great spot for a swim, fish or a ski. Boat ramp is busy on weekends in Summer, fun to people watch...
Toilets are right at the back of the top car park, lots of large shelters and table for a picnic.

Great place to do water sports such as skiing, tubing and kayak or canoes. Cant swim which is a shame...nice clean and tidy facilities (bbq and toilets) overall a great place to go for people with a boat or just a nice family day out by the water!!

Beautiful spot to relax and take in the view and if you're into watersports there's plenty of opportunities for that as well. Camping grounds are always a great place to spend a few nights too.

Amongst the best freshwater fishing in Qld. Good facilities and close to the township of Imbil.
