Absolute gem of a day out, nice and easy just a short drive off the pacific highway along a dirt road, winding through the beautiful forest, brings you to the bird tree Picnic area, with the famous bird tree, as you walk around the track you can soak up some of the towering impressive trees and lush plants,

This is a undercover picnic table however no amenities so make sure you go before you head out,

Picnic table is crushed by falling trees, but- just go for the loop walk and you will see some HUGE TREES. Btw- the “bird tree” is NOT the one next to the car park- keep walking, you’ll find it!! 👍👌🏼😁😁😁

Amazing place , amazing trees. Dirt road in , and no facilities, but worth seeing those amazing huge trees

I've driven past the turn of since childhood always don't that I should go there sometime. We'll i finally did and it's great. Well worth the detour.

Worth a detour from the Pacific Highway if you're not in a rush. Surviving years of local logging, Bird Tree and Benaroon are two of the largest blackbutts in the entire state. Bird Tree picnic area is the ideal place to visit these imposing giants, with a short loop through old growth forest perfect for walking with children and requiring only moderate fitness.

The drive from the Pacific Highway to the picnic spot where the walk starts is quite rough and rocky in some areas. However, with some common sense and care, a regular car should be able to make the journey. Signage to the site is faultless. However, it would be great it there were information boards about these majestic trees on site.

Plenty of space to park and turn your car around. There are no toilets on-site.

Worth a visit if you are in the area. About an 8klm drive up a reasonable dirt road (Haydons Rd) follow the signs and your there - easy..
