Captain Salty - Hat Head

Captain Salty is an absolute gem! The Fresh and Delicious barramundi, perfectly grilled to perfection, accompanied by lemon and tartare sauce, is a seafood lover's dream. The quality and taste make it so worth the money spent.

The friendly staff create a warm and inviting atmosphere, adding to the overall experience. Such a wonderful and caring people. The title of the best seafood restaurant for fish and chips and grilled barramundi is truly well-deserved.

And let's not forget the highlight – the chocolate milkshake. Sipping on it on a hot sunny day was pure bliss. I'm definitely coming back to Captain Salty for more of these culinary delights. Highly recommended!

Best fish and chips I’ve ever had! Huge portions as well. We got the half family pack and between two of us only ate about 1/2-2/3 of it. Will definitely go back again. (Took photo after eating 2 pieces of calamari and some fries 😂)

Recently took the family for a day trip to Hat Head after hearing about the new takeaway opening up.

We had the full family box and All I can say is wowwwwwww. The Food was so fresh and the kids absolutely loved it. This place is a must-do when going through Hat Head.

Incredible service! Food was fantastic, prompt service and great flavors! Hoping when we return next year for our annual trip this still exists!

Generous chip sizes, staff were very friendly & the guy serving us even filled up our drink bottle.

Recently Made the trip back to check out Captain Salty after checking out the new grocery store next door a few months ago.

One of the best Nash chicken burgers out, just took a bit to get the order right, but that is because this place is new. It will only get better, as a local. Yum

Frozen, pre-battered, imported fish? For a fish and chip shop on the coast. I am really dissapointed at the meal had here. It is great to use Pollock ( a northern hemisphere sustainable fish) but you are on the coast of NSW, surely you can source fresh, local fish and batter it yourself? I know it is more expensive, but really.... so so dissapointed from a place that initially looked so promising.

Was really excited about this place opening but it just had extremely basic food prepared by teenagers. Salad bowls had no dressing, grilled fish was burnt, using Masterfoods Tartare sauce rather than making anything themselves.

Not worth it unfortunately, as it’s the only restaurant in hat head. Fish isn’t fresh, many items on menu not available and it’s overpriced

Bad atmosphere due to a bad looking interior and poorly looked after outside seating area and the bins were terribly overfilled with flies all over them.
Cook was nice and chicken burger was one of the best I've had in town.
