Daintree Boatman Wildlife Cruises

We all thoroughly enjoyed the cruise. Despite the showery weather, Murray made sure we were able to see as much as possible. A few crocs, kingfishers, tree snake and many different birds. Just enjoyed the 2hr sunset cruise. It's a fantastic journey! The Daintree river is like a paradise even if with all the crocodiles. The boatman did a superb job guiding us with spotting all the flora and fauna wonders! I was amazed by his boating techniques too, a genius skipper. A life-changing experience, highly recommended! My dad was super happy too with all the bird photos he took along the way. I would give ten stars if there are!

We booked the early morning cruise with Murray and got to see so many birds and 2 separate crocodiles on our trip.
Starting off and heading down river, we turned into Barratt's Creek and spotted Hook the Croc, who lived in that part of the river, where we followed him upstream for awhile and a great experience. Birds were spotted throughout the 2 hour cruise, filling up the provided bird, woodlife and vegetation "bingo" card. My favourite was the azure kingfisher. Murray is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about the river.
Heading back, we got to see the 2nd Croc, Barratt, who was eyeing up a cow on the riverbank. Sadly it didn't happen. So many different birds were visible throughout. Thank you Murray for a great cruise.

We had an absolutely brilliant tour with Murray. He was able to spot all manner of birds and reptiles from miles away, and sightings were always accompanied by extra information about the animal in question. The electric motor meant that our presence didn’t detract from the serenity of the river at sunset. I couldn’t recommend Daintree Boatman Wildlife Cruises more highly!

Really incredible experience... We saw such a diversity of nature and we were shocked when it was sad they it was a quiet morning! Would definitely recommend and go again, the river is stunning and it was powerful to learn about the changes that have occured since the last cyclone.

We joined the early morning cruise with Murray. He was very knowledgeable about the river and wildlife and gave really informative commentary as we viewed the wide variety of birds as well as a snake and 2 crocodiles during the 2 hours.

Murray's ability to spot tiny birds from a long way away and position the boat for good photo angles really added to the experience as we got quite close to a number of birds at the river's edge.

We really enjoyed our time on the river and recommend Murray to anyone interested in viewing and photographing birds and other wildlife on the Daintree.

Did the dawn cruise with Murray. It was raining but that didn’t spoil anything on the ride.

It was a small cruise which allows easy interaction between Murray and guests. He seems to be able to answer all the questions we posed!

Murray has a good eye for all the various wildlife, and we managed to spot some crocs and even float near a sea eagle for a couple of minutes.

Murray was full of information and knew that part of the river like the back of his hand. We didnt see so many birds that morning (about 7-8 species), but we did see 3 crocodiles, 2 snakes and the elusive Kingfisher. It was a beautiful experience and Murray is a nice bloke.

Great experience with this wildlife cruise! The operator knows the animals and their personalities, was respectful of their space, and was very knowledgeable when answering questions. The boat is quiet and comfortable, we'd highly recommend!

Wonderful morning with the very knowledgeable Murray on the beautiful Daintree River, as a keen birder I saw so many new birds in such close proximity and was impressed with the small tour size which made for a more personal experience. Would thoroughly recommend as a perfect way to see both the Daintree River and wildlife.

My Mum and I went on Murray’s small group sunrise wildlife cruise early August and it was a holiday highlight for us both !! Mum is in her late eighties but she had no trouble getting into and out of the boat and the seats were really comfortable.
We saw abundant bird life, water plants, green tree snakes and crocodiles including a baby croc about a year old. The bird song was beautiful and each was identified for us by Murray. The feeling of peace and tranquility gliding down the river was surreal. I can’t recommend this cruise highly enough.

I did a sunset and early morning cruise with Murray and thoroughly enjoyed them both. Murray is very knowledgeable and knows the river well and where to go to see a variety of birds and reptiles. The peace of the river is good for the soul, I highly recommend it!

Murray is a very kind and good guide. He's got very good eyes for spotting even the little creatures in Daintree. We have enjoyed 3 tours in one week with no regrets. From little Kingfisher to Brahminy Kite, from butterfly to big crocodiles.

Today was our third cruise with Murray and we loved it just as much as our first. We've done both morning and afternoon cruises and enjoyed them both equally. Murray is an excellent guide with an incredible wealth of knowledge about the local area and it's inhabitants. I would thoroughly recommend Murray as even with a fully booked cruise this morning he was able to take care of everyone personally. Excellent and will be back again.

So glad I last-minute decided to do a dusk river cruise with Murray! We saw a fantastic variety of wildlife and Murray was great about catering to the different interest of everyone on board. There were 3 birders on our tour of 7 people total (myself included) and Murray did a great job of ensuring we saw lots of great birds while keeping the non-birders engaged and interested. He is a fantastic spotter of all wildlife and has a deep well of knowledge. 10/10 would recommend!

We did a sunrise tour with Murray. The whole experience, from booking through to the boat ride, was great.

Murray has such a wealth of knowledge on the animals that live on the Daintree River. We also got to see and learn about the flood damage to the surrounding area in December 23.

We saw various birds (I only remember the Kingfisher name, who was beautiful), green tree snakes, lizards, dragons and crocodiles.

Just cruising along on the very comfortable boat was a joy in itself. The river is beautiful.

We thoroughly enjoyed the early morning tour. Murray is an exceptional guide who knew how to make the tour a great experience for everyone. The smaller size of the tour is great for getting a more personalised experience and caters for everyone of all interests.
We got to see a huge variety of wildlife including rare birds, crocs & snakes. Murray was fast to spot them and a very skilled operator, getting us very close to the action without disturbing them.
I would highly recommend this tour and experience for anyone visiting the Daintree!

Greatly enjoyed both my morning and afternoon cruises with our expert guide and boatman Murray. He was so knowledgeable about all aspects of the Daintree River and we got to see so many species of flora and fauna. Doing both the morning and evening cruises gives you different perspectives of the River and the opportunity to see different species. My passion is birds and I was so happy to some of my target species. Of course seeing the saltwater crocodiles and green tree snakes were highlights.

Murray is an amazing guide and I recommend at 100% to choose this company. This is a real safari on the river for 2 hours and you’ll learn so much things on this wonderful place. Murray sees everything guys, so you’ll not miss anything present here.
