Die Swaene Hotel

Wow!!! My partner and I booked this hotel for one night to celebrate. We were genuinely blown away by the service and friendliness provided by every single one of the staff. Very accommodating to my partner that doesn’t speak Dutch as well. Room was beautiful, the pool (and temperature of it!) was soooo nice and the breakfast was perfect! We’re already thinking of coming back a second time. 1000% worth it.

I cannot speak highly enough of this hotel. First of all, the location canNOT be beat. We walked by basically all the hotels we saw online and agreed that Swaene had the best location. Half a block from the middle of everything, but extremely quiet and nature surrounded with the canal and trees. The people have been working there for DECADES which is already a lovely sign. Our taxi was delayed and the woman working there took us herself and was happy to do so. I would say this is an upscale, homey yet historic. Everything feels very high end and clean, but not in the way where everything is cold and white, rather cozy and warm ambiance all around. We stayed in the Junior Suite at the top (room 50) and it was phenomenal.
I love it here, I will return.

Pros: ambiance, beautiful breakfast room, solid breakfast, views, location, walkability, cleanest rooms, kindness of staff, comfortable seating and lounging all about, they go above and beyond, pool... List goes on.

Cons: being on the very top floor, the shower had less pressure than desired but it was fine. You can tell it's just because the building is older.

This is the most beautiful and romantic hotel to stay in Brugge. The honeymoon suite looks like a Sleeping Beauty room. I would highly recommend it for couples wanting a memorable stay in central Brugge.

We stayed for 2 nights in mid-October. It was raining when we arrived. Marjik greeted us and gave us an umbrella as we went to park the car. When we returned, all our luggage had been brought to the room. The customer service was top notch. We were greeted every time we came in the doors with a smile and they never seemed to tire of giving us directions. And we were pleasantly surprised by having our rooms cleaned and linen changed every day. No one does that anymore. Turndown service is also included. The town center is a 5 min walk and there is a group of restaurants less than 2 min from the front door. I always read trip advisor before I book and I was shocked by the complaints about the bathroom not having a door. It is BELGIUM, that is how they do it! Don't expect to go to a foreign country and have everything the way you have it at home. Also, the breakfast buffet included cooked to order eggs, pancakes, fresh fruit, yogurt cereal, breads, pastries, meat and cheeses. Not sure what else they could have possibly added. Sometimes, I think people just like to complain.
We absolutely loved this hotel and will recommend it to any who visits Bruges.

As above, all very good. Rooms are beautifully furnished with huge beds, bathroom was a bit snug. They have a pool and sauna. Great location in the middle of town but still very quiet. Breakfast is typically continental, so basically cold buffet. Staff are very helpful. And there is car parking for big cars.!!

We stayed in this Hotel during Easter Holiday. It was amazing!. Great location , service, room decor. The hotel has a very romantic feel . Great attention to details. Very pleasant helpful stuff . Nothing not to like. Even breakfast was spot on :)

Very dog friendly, and recommended for do travellers.

the only thing I wasn't overly pleased with was the security and the availablity of any random people walking off the street, which happened.
Really should have swipe card doors at the front..
Its only a matter of time before something happens here.

The hotel location is great, we found it easily and the parking was just over the canal.

The front desk staff are really freindly and helpful, we had a room on the ground floor which had some quirky but interesting character. The bed was super comfy and everything that should have been provided was.

We used the pool and suana and both were great and we had the breakfast on one day which was pretty good.

We loved the honesty bar and lounge upstairs which is simply beautiful!

Beautiful hotel in an excellent location. It is just around the corner from city hall, but in a quite, canalside spot. An easy walk to all the attractions.

The staff is very friendly & helpful, giving us a city map and pointing out points of interest and great places to eat & visit.

Our room was beautifully decorated and the bathroom modernized & very clean.

This hotel is perfect for a trip to the beautiful city of Bruges. We stayed 4 nights in June and had a fantastic stay. The rooms are beautifully individual..quirky and historic bedrooms with modern bathrooms. The lounge with an honesty bar is a great addition for a boutique hotel and Conrad on reception is the most helpful and friendly guy!

We absolutely loved staying at this hotel. The staff were extremely attentive, kind and helpful, were going out of their way to accommodate us. They were especially attentive to our child, making sure the stay was memorable for both adults and children. Little gestures of attention from everyone to children went a long way...!!! Breakfast was served in the room. Rooms are beautifully decorated to match the Brugge ambience. The drawing room of the hotel is stunning. We even played some piano. Electric car charger is nearby the hotel, and very convenient to use. Location couldn't be better. Views from all rooms are beautiful. All in all, our stay was unforgettable. Thank you, dear Die Swaene hotel, for making us feel like family. We will be back soon and will recommend your hotel to others.

Very good hotel, the staff was super friendly. We had a beautiful room, clean and a big shower. The mattress was perfect to sleep on and there was also a fridge in the room. The public relax room was very nice to sit down, very beautiful! The swimming pool is not that big but cozy to use and also the sauna was relaxing. U get good quality for a very reasonable price, I recommand this hotel for anyone who wants to visit Bruges.

The hotel is perfectly located in the center of Bruges, yet in a quiet street.
The mister on reception was so helpful and welcoming and even let us check in early as the room was ready.
The room was fantastic, large and warm with amazing furnishings .The bathroom was modern with a large walk-in shower and a separate but very small toilet…. The pool and sauna facilities were great too.
This hotel is definitely worth withn a family atmosphere a visit and literally 3mins walk from the Markt.

Loved this hotel! The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Right in the middle of everything so convenient for walking, great amenities and extremely clean. Would highly recommend staying here.

Amazing hotel - highly recommend, especially if you're looking for something unique. All the hotel staff we encountered spoke English and we're extremely helpful. The breakfast buffet is top notch, in both food and atmosphere. Yeah, the rooms are probably kinda small, yeah there are some quirks, but for a building built in the 1600's, you should expect some quirks. If you're looking for a European Super 8, this isn't it. But if you want a unique experience, helpful staff, a beautiful indoor pool, and amazing location within Bruges, then I'd highly recommend.

Wow what a hotel. Rooms are beautiful and comfortable. Lavin, the concierge, was especially helpful. Location was right in the heart of things but also not too loud. Pool and sauna were also nice

Beautiful hotel and really friendly and helpful staff! The man at the front desk when we arrived took time to write out all his favourite restaurants, and when we called and there wasn't a table available he gave them a call himself and managed to get us one!
