Hotel Portinari

This hotel was a gem in the middle of a cycling tour. On one of the squares in the city, near the train station, restaurants all around the hotel, walking distance to the other historical and interesting spots in the city. The hotel’s website shows exactly what to expect. Our room was clean, well light, great view, very quiet, and had everything we expect in a hotel. The staff was phenomenal as a whole, the manager even picked out flowers for my wife as a surprise which is an option in their website. The area was very safe.

An additional gem was breakfast. Their assortment of foods was amazing and tasty. The cappuccino never ending, all foods were very fresh and it appeared to be locally procured or cooked.

Cyclists, this is right where you want to be, the gateway the coast and North Sea route. Bike storage was under ground in a common area garage with a special secure area only accessible by card. A camera pointed at your face as you stepped up to the entrance gate. I was hand escorted with my tandem, to the garage by the manager and shown everything I needed to know.

Rooms are clean and comfortable. Service on the front desk was good but very dry. Location is great. Short distance walks to most of must see places in this beautiful historical city.

We stayed with our two children for one night and had a great nights stay. Staff were really friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and in great condition. We had breakfast and, whilst this was fairly expensive, it was worth every penny and i would highly recommend this. Overall it was a great stay and would highly recommend.

We recently stayed a night in this hotel and had a good experience. The staff are very friendly and the rooms were clean and spacious. The city centre is only a few minutes walk and it is close to most of the tourist attractions in Bruges.

A gem of a place. Nice room. Amazing breakfast! Ann at the front desk more than keen to help out with advice on sights to see and anything else. Close to everything in the historic town. Great location!

The hotel was clean and warm and staff were friendly. We just had a standard room and it was great for the two of us for three nights. Modern amenities and nice rain shower with good pressure and comfortable bed. I also liked that there was a filtered water tap in the lobby which dispensed cold and sparkling water. We did not have breakfast here as we like to explore but it is nice to have the option.

It would’ve been nice if the bar and restaurant was open to have a drink and/or dinner or the possibility of room service but there are plenty of other places around so not a huge deal.

Lovely hotel. Very good location. If there on a Saturday they have a big market right outside. Rooms are quite quirky, as you can see through to the shower from the bed, however, there is a blind you can pull dow ln if you prefer. Beds are comfy, rooms were warm & nice & quiet. Would definitely stay here again.

I was honestly shocked at the quality of this hotel for the price (at least when we booked in late March). Our room had a view of the entire city with the belltower and both tall churches clearly visible. It was just far enough away from the city action that it was incredibly quiet, but walk one block over and you are on the main shopping road. My wife does her cleanliness inspection on entering the room, and this one passed while a five star hotel in Amsterdam did not. The room and bathroom was also larger than expected. Overall, pleasantly surprised by the quality and service of this hotel and cannot imagine a better place to stay in Bruges.

Wonderful hotel well located in central Bruges. We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel was very clean and all staff members were kind and efficient. Our room was spacious, comfortable and well equipped. We would happily stay again.

American in Belgium for 6 nights. This hotel stay was perfection! Room was clean and modern and spacious. Housekeeping was timely. Front desk, especially Mr. Anton, were incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating. You will love your stay here.

I had a lunch over there and it was truly excellent. I was expecting to have a decent lunch but it turned out to be splendid. I had some kind of shrimp appetizer which was very good. The main course was halibut and just perfect. A classic dish but prepared as it should be. The waiters were very friendly as well. I'll remember this place for future occasions. Wholeheartedly recommended.

I love staying at this hotel every time I’m traveling for work to Bruges.

Great location and spotless. The breakfasts were great and the coffee shop that faces onto the new town square is a good place to relax with a book. Staff were very helpful too. The only problems were the mosquitos, not the hotels fault but these monsters made my stay quite painful, I just wish we had been warned, Windows shut, air conditioning on - or else.

We were surprised to get a 4 star hotel right in the centre of Bruges for such a reasonable price. The room was very modern with a glass wetroom, air conditioning, a fridge, a safe, and king size bed. The room also had a large screen TV with a Chromecast, so we could watch Netflix etc. using the hotel WiFi. There were also 4 usb ports for charging devices.

The location is perfect for exploring the city and the staff went out their way to be helpful. Highly recommended.

The whole family were impressed. Really nice furniture, we licked into a narrow terrace then ran the length of the suite -- o e common space and two bedrooms. We liked that the bathroom was separated from the tub/shower and sinks. The staff was pleasant, helpful and professional.
