Villatoile Camping et gîtes

We had an absolutely amazing long weekend here.
We had reserved two spots for our campers and had fantastic, big, clean, grassy spots near the back facility blocks & not far from the water. The camping was completely full and completely relaxed. No loud noises, no irritating guests, no problems or dramas at all.
The camping is beautifully clean, the facilities are more than adequate & all the trees & plants around the grounds are beautiful!
We enjoyed a local beer on the terrace of the tavern, a beautiful stone building with picnic tables outside.
There are play areas for kids and adults, outdoor gym equipment/machine thingies and you are right in the vicinity of plenty of climbing walls and beautiful walks.
The staff can speak Dutch & French, and a little English.
We look forward to our next visit.

Villatoile, what an experience!
Before booking I always check the prior reviews to get an image of what to expect.
Some people mentioned bad hygiene, noise and cold showers?
Well im gonna start off by saying: it amazed me.

The sanitary blocks are really nice, plenty of showers and plenty of toilets. They are maintained atleast once a day.

They dont use coins here, so showering is free and unlimited. The water is a very nice warm temrature and changing the direction of the water is possible.

As for cleanliness of the campsite there isnt much to say. Alot of green, trees, plenty of water sources.
The vegitation was also maintained well by the staff.

The reception is a nice cosy hut.
The people are very welcoming and some even speak excellent dutch.
You are given 2 garbage bags for the other trash, paper plastic and glass are sorted seperatly across the reception.
But don't let it scare you, the trash site doesn't smell at all.

We camped at the water site in a tent.
No electricity there but it was possible to charge phones and such at the reception.

The littlz "beach" was pretty big and was very pleasant to do things as rock skipping.

During the day the kayaks passed by. Some waved, some were noisy (but thats on them. Not on the camp owners.)

The city centre is a 15minute drive and the bigger shopping district about 20minutes.

There are plenty of hiking and climbing areas nearby.

Some of these trails will show you the beauty of nature, but beware of dangerous cliffs with a chance of falling..

Geocaches are also all around, they help you discover the area.

To sum it all up: the negative reviews were (at the time of my visit) not true.
It is an amazing campsite with people who care about their campers.
You will be helped and understood.

Very scenic and calm. Surrounded by wildlife. Nice plots for parking the van. Small beach to go for a dip, friendly staff, new showers and toilets, regular cleaning.

It's a great camp site but a little too far away from the town. Lots to do on a super quiet site

Great place for families and climbers, very close to the massif, peaceful, quiet, very friendly service, paper and soap in the toilet. The price is fine. dogs are acceptable but on a leash all the time, this is checked several times a day, there is a deposit of 150 euros. A very large square to put up a tent. After 22 the curfew but this is a big plus :) I recommend

This is a very beautiful and quiet place with good facilities. We were in a large group of 20 people and rented the apartment housing. There is equipment for having a barbecue etc. available. The landscape is very nice, there is a small football field and a river to go swimming. The only negative thing was the lack of air conditioning, as the only way to get fresh air into the bedrooms was to open windows and that can be a problem with mosquitoes. Other than that the whole place is very nice.

Superbe location, confortable pitch, good service and staff (possible pre-order bakery in the morning), new and nice playground, nice restaurant location ( "only" pastas ..homemade source, local cheese and ham/salami) and a very good selection of beers.

Nice camping site and very nice people working there. Definitely a place to return to another time.

Only point of improvement is to clean the toilets a bit more often.

Clean,orderly,safe and has a nice cooperation between it and the Mountain Network organization so for rock climbing it's perfect! (One of the old farmhouses has been converted into a old tavern-style bar that serves breakfast, dinner and Belgian beer :)

Bery nice place , clean toilets and showers. Unfortunately the nice restaurant is closed due to covid and the alternative pizza around is no go

Great campsite with large open pitches near the river for a swim and a great bar with friendly staff.

Great location and Great staff, a amazing place to relax in the beautiful nature of the surrounding area. Also a great place for many outdoor activities.

Cosy, nice surroundings, close to climbing spot, supermarket 8 minutes driving, good facilities and showers included!

Very nice place for a night, good Pasta at the Restaurant

Checking-in time could be way faster, but otherwise this place is magical.

One heck of a workout. Although did not get a chance to visit the adventure park, will visit again.

Quiet, peaceful, shaded, easy river access. Top notch.
