Museum Architectural Reserve "Bozhentsi"

Really lovely place to walk for a few hours, enjoy the silence, enjoy nature. See a bit of ethnographic Bulgarian history. This village is a must see :)

A great little village that has preserved the architecture of the old times. Hidden in the mountain it’s a great getaway spot. Little shops are offering great handmade gifts, sweets and souvenirs. We had a great time

The place is amazing - with very authentic atmosphere, friendly people and traditional dishes made with local fresh products. We had dinner there twice and everything we tried was absolutely delicious.

A picturesque village a 30 minute drive from Gabrovo. The architecture and the overall atmosphere are stunning. Would definitely recommend!

My favourite place in Bulgaria. It is very beautiful in spring and summer - the nature surronding Bozhentsi is breath-taking and the architecture makes you think you are in a fairytale. The museums in Bozhentsi are also very interesting! I highly recommend doing the trail between Bozhentsi and Dryanovo monastery or the trail between Bozhentsi and Tryavna!

Wonderful place, well preserved in its natural condition. Strongly recommend to pay for a guided tour. It is worthy and does not matter if you are 2 or 10 guys the tax is only one so you can share it !

Beautiful village that takes you back in history.

A unique location, hidden in the heart of the mountain. Guided tours at reasonable prices are available and short videos are shown to help you immerse in the atmosphere. A few souvenir shops and restaurants, parking at the entrance. Nowadays there are only 15 permanent residents.

A must see village if you are in the region. The village is well preserved and most of the houses are authentic. During our visit I noticed several new buildings under construction. Hope when finished will not impact the overall experience of visiting an old village. Getting there is easy, just be mindful of the narrow road, especially in the last 10-15 kilometers. Cars are not allowed in the village, if you do not stay there. Wheelchairs accessible, however the experience will not be the best due to the stone paved streets. You will need to purchase tickets if you wish to visit the museum's in the village.

Really nice and quiet village. If you are looking for a day away- that's the place. We ate at "Bojesnko hanche" and the food it's really tasty! There are also a lot of beautiful handmade souvenirs. We liked everything there.

A small village with restored traditional old houses. Some of them are holiday houses, some are inhabited on a regular basis. The streets are cobbled and traffic is restricted. Climb up the paths in the village, don't stay just in the center

Another wonderful place next to Gabrovo. It is an old style village, preserved its vision through the years. Just perfect to walk and see the old Bulgarian culture, streets and houses.
