Cherepish Monastery

Absolutely astonishing place. Perfectly maintained monastery + garden, picturesque scenery all around. There is also a small restaurant with very tasty food at decent prices. What I found interesting is the small chapel reachable by climbing a number of stairs, containing the bones of Hristo Botev's team members.

One of the great Bulgarian Medieval monastery. Here you can spend several hours of peace and calm. Here you can see the signs of th time. Here, you can taste great bean soup. Definitely recommend .

Very old and unique monastery among river Iskar's gorge. Many eco-paths and amazing cliff views nearby. Highly recommend!

Beautiful nature around. Deserves a visit with the train station nearby. The view of the rocks on the train station is magnificent.

A piece of heaven on earth! Quiet and peaceful. Steeped in history. You can enjoy some magical views here.
Perhaps if it's crowded it will lose some of its charm so I'd suggest going on a weekday or early in the morning.

Cherepish Monastery or Черепишки манастир "Успение Богородично" is situated near the town of Vratsa and right next to Iskar river. It is one of the most famous monasteries in Bulgaria. Nice for a visit in the weekend.

One of the most beautiful places in North-West Bulgaria.Sacred place for Bulgaria history and literature. Apart from the beautiful church placed right next to the river this place is offering amazing view to the Mountains,The rocks ,The river and The forest mixed in a beautiful perfection and silence. There is small pub which will offer you the most delicious bean soup (very traditional Bulgarian soup), purlenka (traditional local bread baked with chubitza & yellow cheeses) and It will be served by the most sweet old lady you can imagine (charming smile and very kind service). I just didn't want to go away from this place

Great monastery to visit. Definitely go and check the bone cemetery right after the entrance to the right and then once you enter the monastery itself, go to the Vazov place. There's a nice view of the river there.
