Ancient historical landmark of the first Bulgarian capital from seventh century. Many things to see and learn as well as some nice walk around.

The Basilica is work in progress. Exoected finish in October 2020. My knowledge of Bulgarian history is above average, but the Basilica impressed me beyond expectations. It is part of Pliska archeological complex.

Gorgeous place. Definitely worth visiting. Nature is welcoming and the energy of ancients was present. It's easy to find, the service was great, friendly people and worth the money. Thanks.

As a passionate history nerd, I found this place a true marvel. An extensive historical site blending museum displays, original architecture, well-executed modern reconsteuctions, and active archaeological excavations, the Basilica had all I could hope for and more. My tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and very comfortable conversing in English. Tours are relatively cheap as well. However, when I went, there were no taxi companies that would go to the site. So, plan your travel accordingly.
