Ever since having my puppy (who is now 1 year + 4 months), I found that 48th Avenue was the most accessible, friendly, and trust-worthy hospital for my dog.

With their hours, it was most convenient for my family and I to book appointments for my dog since they were open more later than other hospitals in Tsawwassen. The staff were so insightful when giving advice and accommodating with appointments.

They’ve helped my dog get his first puppy vaccines, neuter, and other treatments with high-quality care and hygiene.

Most of all, this hospital sits in the heart of Ladner where community thrives the most. Thank you 48th Avenue for your service and care for all pets!

In my 20 years of having, breeding and showing Dobermans, I have never encountered a veterinary clinic with such outstanding professionalism. Recently, I faced an emergency situation with my girl who had been vomiting non-stop for over 12 hours—more than 60 times. Since she had been recently spayed, I feared the worst. Although I am not a resident of Ladner, a client recommended 48th Avenue Animal Hospital to me.

From the moment I called, the staff was incredible. The girl who answered the phone was exceptionally reassuring and went over everything in detail. When I arrived an hour later, she had the medication ready and greeted me with recognition. The level of professionalism and care was extraordinary.

They didn't charge me for a visit, despite my insistence on paying for a consultation and potential blood tests. Instead, I was only charged for the medication. The staff thoroughly checked for bloating and examined her spay incision, showing great attention to detail and genuine concern.

I am so moved by the exceptional service I received that I felt compelled to write this review from the parking lot. 48th Avenue Animal Hospital handled my situation with such compassion and professionalism, and I am deeply grateful. Should I ever be in Ladner again, I will undoubtedly rely on this clinic.

We are new here. Our last vet failed us (misplaced record) so we were happy to read reviews and find that 48th allows you to go in with your pet.
Really happy to see they were electronic as well.
Making an appointment was easy and could be done via the PetDesk app.

Our pup loved the doc and all the techs. Everyone so friendly and offered quotes before services. Prices reasonable very on a Wednesday -. discount day for vaccines.

48th Avenue Animal Hospital has groomed our big boy (22 lbs) Kingsley for the last 2 years. He gets quite matted over the winter and the groomer does an amazing lion cut. Dr Sharma, the staff, and the groomer are kind, courteous, and extremely well informed. We were very impressed with the cost as it included not only the grooming but sedation and a vet check. They also have loyalty points which makes it so affordable. We will continue bringing Kingsley for his annual grooming

Took my cat here for a second opinion as I was convinced my little girl had pyometra. My first vet told me they're not concerned even though her WBC was slightly high. First vet clinic told me to wait for her to decline more to bring her in again.
I brought Kiwi to 48th the next day for another opinion. Thank goodness I did, because she did in fact have pyometra and went into an emergency surgery less than an hour into her appointment.
I cannot thank the team enough for thoroughly explaining the process and the infection and their immediate action.
I was able to bring home my sweet girl thanks to Dr. Sharma and team.

I brought my baby to be spade last Friday at this clinic. The staff are amazing!! They are kind and considerate. They are careful to not only explain what your pet will be going thru, but also what your costs are. This vet is also reasonably priced, and available for any questions or concerns. My Maggie will be going to this Veterinarian every time🙃

Staff is SUPER friendly, my dog loves coming and seeing everyone, the help they supply is like no other, very open about the charges and recovery of your animal, will definitely be back!!

Nova LOVES going to 48th. I mean she starts squealing when we take our exit after the tunnel, and will try and jump out of the window before I’m even parked to get to the front door. She has yet to show any other place this much enthusiasm. I drive from Kitsilano to Ladner for this very reason. The staff make me feel just as welcome, and entertain my questions and concerns with such kindness (I have previous experience losing a pet suddenly and tragically), and they are totally cool with my sister coming along for most appointments to help me communicate if I’m too overwhelmed. The Vets there take the time to explain things in a way that is easy to understand and remember, and I appreciate that (I’m neurodivergent and struggle with lengthy verbal instructions).

New to Ladner. So needed a new vet for the puppy. They were fantastic with our Gus. He is extremely hyper and with Covid making things different than normal they took him in and made me feel very comfortable. Very happy and will be continuing with them going forward.

I've chosen 48th Avenue as they are local and when I arrived I was admitted at my appointment time and my feline was checked out by the Vet and the problem dealt with in a speedy manner.

I am a new owner of a 4-month old standard poodle. All of a sudden, my Troy the poodle became very lethargic after walking every evening. One night, I thought that he was going to die. The next day, I took him to 48th Avenue Animal Hospital and he was attended by a Dr. Vikas. I found Dr. Vikas to be thorough in his examination and in his explanation of findings and in his recommendations of the two options available to solve the problem. He told me that Troy might have eaten or taken something off the streets that gave him toxins in his body. His first recommendation was to flush the body system of the puppy. I decided to follow his recommendation. That very afternoon, he had to do the flushing of his body system and at past 8 PM, which was beyond the regular hours of the hospital, the staff called me to pick up Troy. Maddison was very helpful in showing me that I should get a basket or cage muzzle to avoid the incident happening again. The night before Maddison answered my phone call even though the hospital was already closed.
She also advised me to take him to Intercity Animal Hospital in Vancouver but this was difficult for me because I did not have any vehicle. I decided to wait for the next day to go to the 48th Avenue Animal Hospital. Denny gave treats to Troy for his return home. When I got Troy, he was back to his normal self - active again. I cannot thank enough Dr. Vikas, Maddison and Denny for providing excellent veterinary care to my poodle puppy. I highly recommend the 48th Avenue Animal Hospital to any pet owner as I am certain that they would take good care of your pet the same excellent way that they took care of my Troy.

Very good first experience/visit. I'm a first time puppy owner I was extremely anxious my puppy was going to be in distress. And as soon as we walked in I was at ease. The receptionist really set the tone, was very friendly, my puppy got comfortable pretty quickly. Answered all my questions, the visit was quick and painless. My puppy did great. This will definitely be my go to vet. :)

We have had to visit 48th Ave Animal Hospital frequently this last month as we are transporting a couple cats to New Zealand. All the staff and the Vet have been amazing and patient to help us through the process. Their advice has been helpful and have been very flexible with our needs (which can become difficult being that the country import laws in NZ being very strict And precise). All in all, Great rates and helpful friendly staff and barely a wait to get in with our appointment. We have been going here for years with all our furry family members and will continue! Don't forget about half price vaccination day every Wednesday!!

This is where we brought my childhood cats and now as an adult, I still bring all my animals here. I can't imagine ever going anywhere else. The staff are always friendly and compassionate, and I appreciate that during appointments everything is always well explained. I always leave feeling that I understand what's going on with my pets health and am able to make good and informed decisions about their care.

They have always treated my Furbaby’s like they were there own. They put you at ease when worried about your pet. They give you quotes and explain the procedure and the follow up results.
