Barely Bruised Books New&Used

This is the absolute cutest little bookstore I’ve ever been to! The owner or manager or whoever works there is very sweet and super helpful. AMAZING and massive collection of all sorts of genres. Philosophy, religion, fiction, fantasy, EVERYTHING you could possibly think of! The little adorable cat greeted us kindly at the door too. Such a wonderful place and the books are extremely good price. Awesome experience and definitely underrated! 😄💗

Has a very legit used bookstore feel. Surprising selection given the size of the space. I'm not sure Milo (the manager - also a cat) is catching too many mice... he looks very comfortable lol. It's on the second floor - I actually walked by the door the first time - just keep your eyes peeled for the red street sign (which i somehow walked past).

Amazing book store. Massive political and philosophical sections, an adorable cat and a unique and captivating overall space. Scott is a fantastic person to speak to about so many different topics and I will continue to support for as long as I possibly can

Super friendly staff and super cute manager (Milo the cat!) overwhelming but perfect for a bookworm so it’s okay! there are books everywhere, filled in every nook and crannies <3

I haven’t even been yet but when I was a teenager living in Carleton Place, there was a crammed book store just like this with an old owner and his cat. He shut down many years ago and I still think about the cat and its wellbeing. More cats need to employ private businesses so this place gets my 5 stars. 🐱

The guys here are super helpful and cool. So many books of all genres, you could spend the whole day there! The guys know their store well, and are really knowledgeable about what's in stock. I love this place - such a gem in Sandy Hill.

Also, don't even get me started on the cat who lives there. He's such a cutie, a perfect addition to the place. Don't forget to check out his section of books curated by the man himself!!

This is an absolute gem of a bookshop. There is something of interest for everyone. Take your time to carefully search out every nook and cranny. Their Facebook page is always up to date with new finds. Milo the cat manager deserves his own 5 star rating.

Scott has a great taste and an amazing collection. To top it all of, he is friendly and will gladly help you out in a very cunning way.
The Store is the only one in Ottawa that gives a great student discount, but fear not, his prices are great from the go. There are a bunch of classics in hard cover amazing editions.

Ps: the cat name is Milo and he is way to cute.

I came across the store yesterday and popped in immediately when i saw the words “indigenous peoples book” by the entrance below! The owner is an amazing guy who helps you a lot with the books. The “Indigenous Peoples” section has quite a lot interesting books! I really loved the place and gonna go again soon!

Great bookstore with lots of character. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable! I spent hours just browsing and soaking in all the titles. Very competitive pricing on new and used books. Looking forward to my next visit!

Books that I have a hard time finding anywhere else. Plus the store is quite interesting with a lovely black and white cat that I have temporarily forgotten the name of, I think is Milo. Once you have been, you'll return!
