Before Covid, I came here twice to buy the Frozen Steamed Chicken Deluxe buns and reheated them at home using a microwave . They tasted pretty good, but because they are too big, I can only eat half of one each time. Plus, this place is far from where I live, so I hardly ever came here. Today, I happened to pass by and decided to take a look inside. The place has become brighter and more modern than before, and there are many more types of bakeries available. I ordered the Su Mai Mix (4 pieces), two of which are spicy, but all of them are pork. I found the spicy ones to have better flavor and texture. The prices are also very reasonable, and their bakeries looks very fresh . I recommend this place if you happen to be nearby and hungry, and want to quickly fill your stomach.

Sesame ball was a 10/10. Egg tart is kinda underwhelming 8/10. Pineapple pork bun was huge and filling 9/10. Tried the coffee bun was kinda bitter but salty and delicious filling 8/10. Cinnamon twist is mid

It’s a walk in a leave kind of place. Stacks of stuff everywhere. Displays make it easy to see everything you want. Everything tastes great. Service was hard at first. I didn’t know how to order. Guy was helping but also multitasking so I wasn’t sure if I was suppose to keep going.

Obsessed with the matcha oat latte!!! The buns are nice too and it's great that everything is kept warm. BBQ pork is flavorful and lovely. But seriously just come and get a matcha latte - probably one of the best in the city and more reasonable than most places.

Ordered online because I was craving bao buns and holy moly the sizes are huge! I got the pork bao buns and chicken bao bun. So much flavour and suuuuper soft buns. I also got the lumpia and can say those were one of the best in Vancouver!

I like this bakery, because this store serves fresh buns. My favorite are asado and Mochi.

I've always wanted to visit this place and I ended up doing that today and had a good experience. I've tried their bbq pork and chicken bola bola steamed buns and they are extremely good, moist, juicy and flavorful. The service is also fast, efficient and the staff are friendly. They also accept credit card payments. My only nitpick is the red bean donut - it's more of a red bean bread and quite sweet for my taste. They should probably lessen the filling to minimize the heaviness and make it fluffy.

Amazing buns! The texture was fluffy pillowy soft on the steamed and baked buns and so fragrant! So delicious. Ube donut was out of the park!

Decided to try one of their deluxe buns. I was pleasantly surprised of the quality and taste of the product.

They have lots of options for Chinese buns: baked, steamed and frozen buns. Bbq pork steamed bun is the best one for me. Purple yam and egg yolk are also really tasty, but I prefer less sweetness. Price now is $3.75/ bun, pretty decent for the portion and taste.

Don't stand too close to the display counter, otherwise water will drop off from your mouth😂

Delicious buns and bao in warm (appropriate temperature to eat right the way). That is the best part of Bao Bakery. Buns and bao pretty close to Hong Kong/Cantonese style😋

Most bakery in greater Vancouver are cold buns packed in plastics bags.

Friendly and efficient sale associates to serve you better, so you can get your stuff fast and just wait a little time even in long queue👍👍👍

One of the best bakery in the neighborhood. I went there past 8pm and all of the pastries that was left was 50% off. Customer service was excellent, they give me extra egg tarts and apple tarts!😍😍 they are so kind! I will 100% recommend this bakery. They are well-known for their delicious bao buns ❤

The best steamed buns in town. The quality and flavor are excellent. All their other baked goods and pastries are as good. The price can be a bit expensive but good food always comes with a price. Definitely one of my favorite bakery.

My favorite bao in Vancouver! What I love the most is how soft the bun is!

- BBQ Pork baked bun: soft bun with slight crusty outside. The filling was flavorful & delicious!
- Bola-bola (chicken deluxe) bun: soft bun with mixed fillings (chicken, ham, pork & egg yolk). The filling was good and not too salty
- Racy yolk bun: love the creamy sweet & savory egg yolk filling!
- Ube bun: highly recommended because it’s our favorite! The ube filling was sweet enough and smooth. Get this in the morning as they might sold out in the afternoon

Good selection of items the lattes are also quite good but sometimes inconsistent. The service is usually quite fast and the guy was helpful to explain the different drinks, will be back to try the oolong oat latte.

I been visiting Bao bakery almost 2-3 times per week , because it is already my regular routine, never thought about to write a review, today I was checking on google review. There is one 2 star rating and the reason is ridiculous,“ hot dog is not sausage” so he got a free bun and still put down a bad review for his pathetic arrogance.
I search online if sausage included hotdog. Unfortunately, hotdog is one kind of sausage

Bao bakery stuffs are very friendly. Smile always on their face.foods are good. Really nothing to complain about,so the “hot dog is not sausage “ will have to Take the blame😅😂
Hopefully Next time I can get a free coconut bun , because it is shredded coconut. Not the coconut coconut.🤪

My favourite BBQ pork steamed buns (my second favorite buns being from St. Germain in Metrotown), very friendly and accommodating staff, clean washroom, and decent prices - before tax buns are $2.50 each, and a 12 oz matcha latte is $3.75 (a 12 oz tall matcha latte at Starbucks is $4.15).

Cozy little place for a tasty food. I had the bola bola bao, pineapple bbq bun, and egg tart. The bao was juicy and tasted good. The egg tart was good too, it had a good flaky crust. My favourite was the bbq bun, sweet and savoury goodness! The top crust was flaky and sweet, the bread was soft, and was simply delicious.

Cheap, quick, and good! Great resource for anyone who wants a $10-15 lunch or dinner. Love the coconut buns.

First time I visited this place was around 2017,when they opened (if am not mistaken).I loved the placed that time only.I missed this bao and their other pastries.As a person who travels around I tried bao from many places.But still i loved theirs.After a long time,i came back to Vancouver,first thing I did was visiting this place and their bao and some pastries
Would definitely recommend everyone to try this place.
