My experience with the chain type funeral establishments was filled with angst and disappointment. After a battle with cancer and life lost too early we turned to Martin Brothers to make arrangements for us! Valerie and the staff were fabulous. Sensitive and confident! Valerie Martell and her staff provided our family with exemplary and compassionate service. From the initial meeting in their comforting and well appointed office, through all the steps in the journey to laying my mother to rest, they were exceptionally professional, diligent, and comforting. We had confidence that every detail would be taken care of and it was. At a very challenging and emotional time, our family was so grateful to have such consummate professionals taking care of everything so that we could focus on our family and our grief process.

I am so tremendously grateful for the services, compassion, and professionalism I received from Martin Brothers. They offer a scattering at sea ceremony which we opted for. Staff were kind, warm, very knowledgeable, and always available to answer our questions regarding ceremony set up. They offer a wonderful package, providing food, drink, petals, music, and a certificate with GPS coordinates as part of a standard package. Absolutely everything is taken care of, they provided transportation there and back from the marina. They made everything possible for us to honour and remember our Dad. Of course anytime you are in touch with a funeral home it is difficult, one is hurting and grieving, but I am very grateful to their care and attention they provide.

Valerie runs a tight ship, she is very professional, accurate but at the same time, gentle, kind and compassionate. She helped us with organizing a viewing ceremony and then sending the remains to Europe. Her help was tremendous as we couldn't do it without her expertise.

When the hospital called to advise that our family make 'final' plans for my mother, I was rather lost. I called Dale Martin Jr. to ask for help. He immediately assured me that he would take care of me. That was a simple statement but rang so true in my ears as words of assurance and comfort. He was in an airport en route to a business meeting but still took the time to talk to me and explain my options. He put me in touch with Valerie Martell at their new Vancouver Location in Dunbar. Valerie graciously cleared her schedule and I was in their office the very next day working through the host of details in pre-planning my mom's final arrangements. It was a surreal experience - even though this was a new terrifying journey for me - Valerie and her staff at Martin Brothers Funeral Chapels - took the time to hear my concerns, offer valuable advice and gave me a set of options to take back to my family for consideration. I truly appreciated the sensitivity and the personal care offered first by Dale Martin Jr., the company owner, and echoed with Valerie and the Dunbar office staff. Thank you all for your warmth, understanding and professionalism.

Went with Martin Brothers for our funeral today. They were very professional, respectful and helpful. They adhered to COVID safety protocols while still being understanding of our funeral needs. Highly recommend.
