Contacted Malcolm , about some stains around our skylights , he originally said that the skylights are probably leaking and gave me a quote on r & r . When he went up and saw that the skylights where fine , he was honest and said our skylights are not leaking and found the issue . He saved us some money and suggested that roof vents be installed to cool our house . Malcolm is honest , very knowledgeable and would recommend him to all when it comes to cement tile roof . He not the cheapest roofer , but I rather have Malcolm do it right the first time then to have a leaking roof later on.

Malcolm is a roofing master, full-stop. We had a persistent leak around our furnace chimney that had baffled the previous owner. Malcolm figured out that it was because the roofers who had most recently re-done the roof had made a few key mistakes in nailing down the base flashing around the chimney (in addition to not changing the old counter flashing). Malcolm pulled and re-worked the base flashing as well as the counter flashing, even thought it meant a lot of extra work for him.
I really want to emphasize how important it is to find a roofing contractor who does the work *correctly*. This is the roof over your head and the shield that protects your wood-construction house from water and the rot, mold, and mildew that it brings. Malcolm is that contractor - he wants to do the job RIGHT and he has the experience to know how to do it right.

After calling around to various roofing companies and generally being written off as too small a job, I found Malcolm on Google. He was able to come out the next day, and for a very reasonable price, assess the leaking skylight, inspect the other skylights, and fix the problematic one, all while explaining the issue and the suggested fix in layman's terms and without condescension. After a couple of storms, happy to note his work has fixed the leak!

I had a broken concrete roof tile overhanging the gutter and it allowed water to escape onto the walkway below. Malcolm came and replaced the broken tile quickly. We originally called Kerrisdale Roofing for our leaking roof but were told to call Malcolm at Stormrider Roof Repairs instead. We called Malcolm in the morning and he came by to have a look at our roof leak the same day. After getting up on the roof, he knew exactly what the issue was and he explained it to us thoroughly. Malcolm is a honest contractor. My roof is almost 40 years old. I have a leak around the chimmey and creating bubbles on the interior wall. One contractor torched on some black tar paper and collected $800. Second contractor removed a few tiles, layed in the black tar paper and collected $1000. Finally I reached out to Malcolm, he provided a free assessment and informed me that the roof is beyond repair. Malcolm took the time to explore other sections of the roof and determined that the underlayment is deteriorated and instead of repairing the roof, he suggested that i save the money and inquire to get a new roof. I don’t want to give Malcolm 5 stars on Google because ya’ll going to see it and know how absolutely amazing, honest, on time and on target he is. You’re going to call and book up his schedule, then when I call… he won’t have any time for me!! Yes I am an only child and yes this is a real concern.

This is the second time I called Malcolm to fix our roof. The first job was several months ago when I noticed water dripping down at the edge of the roof. He came over the second day and checked out the problem. He explained in detail where the problem was, and how he could fix it to make sure the problem would not happen again.
The first job was perfectly done, and the leaking problem no longer happened. So I called Malcolm again 2 days ago when I noticed similar problem in another area of the roof. He came by the second day and finished the job within three hours.
Will definitely call him again since he is knowledgeable and responsible. The quote is reasonable as well.

He meticulously looked for the problem for 3 hours but unfortunately, he couldnt find the issue. He actually came back 2 days in a row vowing that he has never failed in finding a leak.
