Urban Fare

I've been shopping at this location Urban Fare since I moved to the neighborhood a year ago, and I really love it. They price match and also usually have quality items on sale, lots of grab and go food options, friendly staff, and security on location. Also there is often a gorgeous, well priced selection of flowers. The wine bar seating area has great happy hour food/drink, and the server Chona there is the best! She makes the wine bar experience even more wonderful and safe, and is a big reason I go back there

Ken at the check-out was extremely friendly and helpful! He offered us a “More Rewards” card and explained how it works. He was exceptionally nice and simply a pleasure to talk to and we wish him all the best.

Beautifully designed, inviting and the focus on fresh is experienced the moment you walk through the doors. The selections in each of the core areas is breathtaking. As a cheese lover I found the varieties and choices fantastic. Although this is a drive for me the selection of fresh cut flowers along with the mouthwatering selection of desserts will make a weekly trip more than worth while. The addition of the wine bar and 6 beers on tap certainly makes Urban Fare a unique foodie experience in Calgary.

It's a great experience, The ambiance is very welcoming especially in the bar . amazing beer and wines and the charcuterie is wonderful.Chona the bartender is very friendly and know what she is doing in the bar making the customers happy the service is unmatched! Highly recommended.

We have been going to Urban Fare all the time. Ken, the cashier, is wonderful! It is a pleasure to talk to him! Very nice, helpful and kind! Always great experience!

Very excited for Urban Fare in downtown Calgary. This is one of the nicest grocery stores in the entire city and we are very lucky to have it in the Beltline. The prices are very competitive and are close in comparison to Safeway. From the decor to how the store is laid out it is all very nicely done. Exciting to see a Starbucks, wine bar, poke station, and many other Ready-to-Eat menu items to pick up. Looking forward to going back again soon.

Great selection and delicious food. Mert was amazing and very helpful. He saw that no one was at the buffet register and walked from the other side of the store to assist us. A+ service!!!

Nice place in a busy street of 16 Ave. The Chefs prepared the food properly in a sealed container. Freshly baked breads and pastries. Plus, grocery items with lots of selections and varieties.

Absolutely a delightful store with access to grocery shopping and as well as fine dining! The food is good and also their pastries are yummy! There is a Starbucks inside which is an added advantage. They have seatings outside of the store from where u can listen to the band right across the street! The girl in the pastry section was really helpful and friendly!

Great venue. Wonderful selection of cheeses including a Double Gloucester with chives and onion I had not sent since England. Delectable charcuterie. Well laid out and presented. Seems curated rather than stocked. Want Branston pickle ? Dubliner cheese? Double smoked bacon? That makes a great sandwich btw. ..Staff extremely helpful, knowledgeable and personable. Always smiling, ever helpful, passionate foodies and enthusiastic ambassadors. I'd starve if I could not go there! :)

Urban Fare is exactly what this neighborhood needs. They've got a great variety of items and genres to support the perfect dinner party on a whim. These deserts look absolutely decadent. You'd be popular for sure if you brought those home.

I first experienced 'Urban Fare' in Kelowna - fantastic.
Delightful to hv them here in Calgary. Great and varied selection, inviting, clean and helpful staff.

BAKERY GOODNESS! Our company is onto our 2nd cake from UF Bakery in the last few weeks. It is now our tradition for important events / celebrating staff / etc. Go see Smruti in the bakery department if you want amazing and friendly service. This time I gave her 1 hour notice and she put together a White and Black Mousse cake together for us / decorated and boxed and ready to go. It was SO good. Quality of pastries and service is what you will expect and what we look forward to from UF. Thanks again Smruti. Cheers.

Urban fare happy hour is pretty awesome! 5$ happy hour is pretty awesome. Daily from 3-7.

Impeccable customer service, from all employees. The most upright friendliest grocery store I have approached. Family friendly your children are welcome to an apple or banana well you shop. Love when your paying for your groceries, a sticker is given to your children , my son just loves that . You feel so welcomed and treated with the most respect . And to mention how much money I saved from points. I give 5 star. And want to thank all employees and what great team work, always have a team member making sure you have found all your items you are looking for, client care is not an issue. The cleanest most organized grocery store!

Let me tell you something. It's rare to find a place where you can grab a 9/10 local craft beer while your girlfriend goes to buy groceries. That's the sort of place Urban Fare is. The prices are not 100% ideal if you're fully interested in value and I won't lie to you about this. But at the end of the day if you're looking for quality groceries with friendly staff in the area you can't do much better.

Wow I love this place so much, helpful staff fresh produce and to boot less then 400 meters from my condo. Keep up the great work. A huge shot out to Wanda from front end cash and Mayrim from the flower department. HUGE RECOMMENDATION

This is for Smruti (sp) in your Bakery section. I came in today desperately looking for a special cake for a special birthday person. The cakes at Urban Fare are amazing, but not big enough for the group I have. So, Smruti stepped up and said... "What if we put a couple together that were the same?" I said... Giddy Up. She went to the back, checked to see what she had available and put an amazing double cake presentation for me. She decorated / enhanced it on the spot and I was out in under 15 minutes. Urban Fare is one of the best retail establishments in Downtown / off 17th. It has EVERYTHING Food related and the quality is off the charts. Fortunately for them, their staff is equally off the charts. Thanks Smruti.

EDIT / UPDATE - We just finished the Tiramisu cake and it was INCREDIBLE! Definitely bakery quality.

Joined my sister and brother-in-law for happy hour bites. My nephew and his girlfriend also showed up.
Raj was great! He was working alone and took care of us and at least 5 other tables. He was welcoming and attentive.
The food was lovely.
The vibe is really cool.
A real treat.

I love the convenience and selection of the Ready to Go items. Highly appreciated as a business traveler who often finds herself seeking nutritious meals without having to commit to a restaurant when I'm in town.
