There is not lousy management and yeah it's not in the best environment, but it's in the right place where the kids need it. The people that work at the Casey House really care about those kids that walk in that door and they do very well keeping those kids safe and welcomed. Anyone who bashes a youth shelter is pretty pathetic....ITS A SHELTER NOT THE HOLIDAY INN!

I WAS 15 WHEN I RAN AWAY FROM MY ABUSIVE FATHER. MR. LONGO MY PRINCIPAL AT NFHS SENT ME TO CASEY HOUSE. I TOLD THEM I WAS BEING ABUSED. AN OLDER WOMAN THAT WORKED THERE THEN TOLD ME IF HE EVER HURTS YOU AGAIN TELL ME AND HE WON'T EVER AGAIN. HE BEAT ME I LEFT AND LIMPED TO CASEY HOUSE THEY SEEN MY CONDITION REPORTED IT TO AUTHORITIES THAT SAME DAY I WENT TO FOSTER CARE. MY LIFE IS CHANGED FOR THE BETTER BECAUSE OF THE VILLAGE THAT HELPED TO SHOW ME A BEAUTIFUL LIFE.

I got kicked out of my dad's house temporarily, and spent a night here. I could barely stand the night. I live in Lockport, so being in Niagara Falls was quite far. It was the first time I spent the night somewhere without someone I know with me. My anxiety was high.

The staff members there were relatively helpful, but the place itself was quite dirty. There was lots of bugs, and used tissues. I'm not quite sure when the last time the bed sheets were washed, my bed had a used tissue with a tick or a bed bug on it. I felt extremely uncomfortable with how dirty it was. Looking in the cupboard for a cup, there was either grime or mold.

I hope they do a deep clean of the place.
