Carbon Hair Studio

I went to Carbon with my daughter for the first time with my 3 year old daughter on Thursday. I called last min for an appt and they were able to get us both in. Once we got there, Jaimie met us at the door and from the moment we met she was super attentive, friendly, kind, warm and super amazing to both my daughter and I. To top it all off, she made us feel so so beautiful with our fresh new cuts. I’ve been struggling to find a hairstylist since I moved to Guelph 5 years ago and it’s safe to say, I now found my forever home ! Thank you so so much for giving us a wonderful time. You all are truly amazing.

I haven’t been to salons in quite a few years because of the pandemic. After years of having short hair, I decided I wanted to grow it out. For about two years, I’ve been on a journey to try to make it happier and healthier.

I’m a very picky person when it comes to my hair. When I moved to Guelph a few months ago, I wanted to find a hairstylist who could work with my preferences. After a few failed walk-ins, I found Carbon Hair Studio.

The vibe of the place was immediately friendly, modern, and overall a very comfortable place. I didn’t feel like I was being judged for my hair (which was a bit of a disaster), and I felt like they really listened to all my questions. Everyone was very sociable and welcoming, and they all seem very knowledgeable of their craft!

I’ve only had two appointments here so far, and both times Jaime has been amazing at cutting my hair in a way that makes it easy to style (even in the awkward growing-out phase!). She listened to my hair goals and has been helping me work towards them through her styling and product/routine recommendations. She is great at conversation and takes great care during our appointments.

At my appointment today, I was very worried going in because 1. My hair has been growing but I haven’t been styling it, so it’s been a bit messy and I wasn’t sure how to fix it! And 2. I have a fresh piercing and I was convinced it would be accidentally tugged!

However, all these worries were put to rest when I walked out because I have hair that looks MUCH easier to manage and style without sacrificing my efforts to grow it out, AND she was so incredibly careful not to disturb my new piercing.

Can’t wait to come back here!

Chris is THE BEST. I have long hair and am extremely picky with who I go to. He is the only person I let go near my hair to cut and colour, and he never fails to amaze me! My mum, short hair, also, absolutely adores him. Thank you, Chris!!!

Very modern chic decoration and very welcoming staff! Emma had a conversation with me about what I was looking for and what would look best, and made sure I was happy with my look before leaving! Will be back!

Absolutely would recommend Carbon Hair Studio. I have been going for a hair cut, colour and style with Cynthia for 7 years and she has always done an amazing job. I have made some changes in colour and style over the years and she is always very knowledgeable and great with different recommendations. The Studio is also very lovely and everyone is super friendly and helpful. I also had my wedding updo done by Cynthia and my bridal party had their hair done by the team as well and we were all very happy with the results. Could not recommend them enough especially Cynthia . 😊

Kirsten cuts my kids hair and they both love going there. Great cuts too. I have my hair cut by Chris and it’s the best cut I’ve had in a long time. It’s a great salon with experienced and friendly stylists.

This place is wonderful! This was my first time here. First of all, the atmosphere is lovely and the place is very nice and clean. My junior hairdresser Emily was so fun to talk to and she did a great job ok my hair! She knew what I wanted and connected with me on a personal note how I wanted my hair done. Prices are in the average range for a normal haircut and doesn't over charge. But you can be the judge of that. Highly recommend!

I can't say enough good things about Carbon! I have been going there for cuts the past few years but this past summer started to play around with colour.
Cynthia has coloured my hair the past two times I have gone. In June, she did a beautiful rose gold colour for me and now a dimensional sangria berry colour.
What generally ruins my experience at a salon is when I go somewhere and get hardly any feedback about colours or changes I want. I rely a lot on my stylists opinion because they are the hair expert not me. With Cynthia, I can go in with several different photos and then she helps me pick what will be easy to maintain and what will match with my natural hair and skin tone.
The salon also has such a lovely positive atmosphere. I was there for about two hours and during that time I could see how lovely the other stylists were interacting with their clients and with each other. It is really comfortable for anyone who may be intimidated by the atmosphere that other salons often have.
I have tried a few places in Guelph, but Carbon is definitely the best service I have received.
I will continue to go here as long as Guelph is my home and have recommended to friends over and over.

I live in Edmonton and had just had my hair cut and didn't like it. My daughter recently had her hair done by Jamie. I loved it so I went to see if mine could be fixed. She did a fantastic job! I love it. Even the lady in the chair beside me told me how great it looked. Thank you sooo much Jamie. Everytime I visit family in Guelph, I'll be calling.

I have always been impressed with the service and knowledge demonstrated by my stylist, Cynthia. She can work miracles and always knows just what to do to make my hair look amazing, not only when she styles it, but also after I wash it and style it myself (and I am by no means a stylist). Always a nice atmosphere, reasonable prices and care taken during an appointment. Thank you Cynthia for your years of work on my hair!

I have been going to Carbon for many years now as well as my children! Melissa is our stylist and she is amazing, my kids love her. She is so patient and always goes above and beyond whenever we are there. All the stylist are friendly and welcoming. I love seeing how they work together as a team helping each other when they can. Prices are fair compare to other salons. They are always accommodating and able to often work around my schedule. Love this salon!!!

Jacob is such an incredible stylist. He’s funny & easy to talk to. He gives great input on ideas I have and changes I’m thinking about making with my hair. He has taken me from my natural dark brown to blonde and always exceeds my expectations. I have never been complimented more on my hair since he became my stylist. Thank you Jacob!

Always an amazing experience. Cynthia consistently does an amazing job with the cut and colour for my curly hair. She also always has lots of helpful information and tips for me regarding hair care.

I had a wonderful experience getting my hair coloured & cut at Carbon. They have re-opened since COVID closures with excellent safety measures in place. Everything is very clean, distanced, and signage is good. They have spaced appointments apart to ensure client safety, which is I'm sure a difficult but necessary measure.

My hair looks fantastic, much thanks to Cynthia. I also was happy that they are blow-drying (which to me, is not a concern- we are all in masks!) as the majority of the fine haircut work is done dry.

Great first experience at Carbon! Jamie was able to fit me in last minute and she did a fantastic job with my cut and blow dry. Very professional and will definitely go back.

Carbon Hair Studio is top notch on every level the moment you walk in their studio. They are friendly and go above and beyond to meet the needs of the client. I moved to Burlington and continue to drive to Guelph to have Cynthia do my hair. She is the best hair professional I've had as she takes the time to understand your hair (especially blonde hair) and is transparent about what works best for your hair. She is AMAAZING! I've visited many salons and I've never had the pleasure of having my hair done by such an excellent team. The hairdressers at Carbon Hair Studio are experts in their craft (both junior and senior stylists!) and take the time to understand what you're really looking for in your hair design. I've had ombre hair done here several times and each time it looks flawless and natural. Carbon Hair Studio is a bit more expensive but more than make up for it with their excellent service, expertise, and free bang cuts between haircuts! I look forward to visiting again in the future.
