The Dragon

Love this place, and so happy that it is still here. I come around every once in a while to find magic cards but it's always just fun to browse. It's always nice to have a place that runs frequent events as well. Great location, it's nice that there are still some good stores in the Old Quebec Street mall

The dragon is an extremely hospitable and including enviroment. I go every wednesday and saturday, and not once have i EVER seen any discrimination because of race, sexuality, religion or any other reason. Good prices and large stocks alongside friendly employees who you really want to get to know make the dragon the best game store i know. Also hi jenn, hope zach geys better.

Edit: Based on the comment below and an email exchange with the owner I understand this was a first attempt and a learning opportunity for the store. Their response and openness to feedback shows they are a retailer who cares about their customers and community.

Original: Very disappointed in the Free RPG day promotion. I understand that the "free" product costs money to the business, but restricting their acquisition to only the purchase of RPG products was very limiting. 80% of the you have is D&D and the remaining 20% weren't of much interest. If there had been no restriction, or simply an amount to spend in the store I would have happily shopped at your location. As it stands I feel like I wasted a trip from Kitchener.

Spent the day toodling around downtown Guelph and The Dragon was easily the best experience of the day. Fantastic customer service from a very knowledgeable staff. The kids section is the best I've seen and the sales associate had lots of great recommendations. The store has an incredible selection of graphic novels and a smaller area of individual issues. In addition there are board games, magic the gathering stuff, figurines, collectables, tshirts & novelty items and some toys.

I’m normally socially anxious and scared of asking store people for help when I’m looking for something specific, but Amy (the manager) was so nice and helpful. 😭 been going to this place since I moved to Guelph and it’s the best speciality store I’ve ever been in to in general.

The Dragon is just about as good a Friendly Local Gaming Store as you could ask for. It's a welcoming environment for everyone, the staff are knowledgeable and helpful, and they have great stocks of comics, manga, board and role-playing games, miniatures, painting supplies, CCGs, etc. My child's learning to play D&D there right now!

I've lived here for over 20 years and it's been around the whole time. It's funny to see a "comic book store" being one of the consistent pillars of the downtown business community, but Jen has kept this place thriving for two+ decades, through the ups and downs of specialty retail. How? By just being *that good* 😁

This store is amazing, inside and out, as is the team who works there. I had the immense privilege of being a part of the crew for a short time and I can tell you with all certainty that these lovely humans really care about their customers and have great knowledge about everything they sell, from board games to TCGs to comics and beyond. Jenn, Amy, and the rest of the incredible staff put their heart and soul into making this place feel like a home for their customer base, whether it’s through shopping or the events they run. And to top it all off, they have an amazing selection of products that you can’t really find in other places. I hardcore recommend it to anyone who is looking for games, graphic novels, plushies, cards - anything, really. It’s a great place to shop and is run by some of the nicest people I’ve had the pleasure of meeting.

Visited on a whim as my partner and I were in the area.
Very clean store, with very friendly staff, with a good selection of card games, board games, accessories, comics, graphic novels, and of course figurines and funko pops.
I would recommend visiting if you are ever nearby.

Well organized, immaculately clean, and excellent selection. Worth the drive to Guelph for a visit to The Dragon alone. Found everything I thought to look for, and a few things I didn't know existed.

The categories for the graphic novels such as Marvel, D.C., Sci-fi, Horror, and movie/series conversions make it much easier to find things than a purely alphabetical organization.

If you ever want to enter a world of adventure, look no further than The Dragon. It is more than a "comic book store" which is how I hear a number of people describe it. For years, since my kids were young, I've leaned on the incredible staff here to make suggestions for various books and series that even the pickiest and uninterested of readers in my family couldn't put down. The staff always goes above and beyond and the adventures in the pages they recommend, in my experiences are some of the most incredible reading can offer. Highly recommend a visit even to just satisfy your curiosity!

Great store - lots of variety for any game or hobby you're into. My boys like to go there for the pokemon cards and d&d miniatures. Employees there are always friendly.

Every time I go downtown I stop there with my daughter reminiscent of my times playing Pokémon card games 20 years ago. Pleasant, polite and always hook up my kid with a comic for kids. They have a kids area it's truly bomb

I attempted to order some spray primer online but unfortunately due to shipping policy of Canada post, FedEx, etc. they were unable to ship the product to me. Although throughout the whole process I could tell that Amy was doing the best she could for me and was trying every option she could. They provided very good correspondence and I think from all of these interactions they are a good company to deal with!

Always provides an excellent experience for those in a variety of hobbies and is a safe space for all. I'm glad to have them in the city.

I took my kids here for the first time since they moved a while back. Fabulous staff, great costumer service and amazing choices!!! You can quickly lose track of hours here!!
