Taverna Greka

The food was spectacular. Best spanakopita I’ve ever had!!! Everything is made in house from scratch which I value immensely.
And kosta was like an old European mother, making sure everything was perfect, but with a great sense of humour.

We had a lovely valentines dinner. Service was wonderful, everyone very kind. Great portions and excellent quality for everything. We had the roast lamb, kalemari, and Tarama. We will definitely return

Made reservations here in hurry. The staff were very cooperative and friendly even though it was near closing time. Loved the dishes and they were best in quality, quantity and price.

Came here to celebrate my husband's birthday. We had a wonderful view of the river and sunset. The service was great and the food was very delicious! He had the roast lamb and I had the garlic butter prawns. We will definitely be back and will recommend this restaurant to our friends.

Taverna Greka is a charming restaurant in New Westminster. The view overlooking the river was stunning. It was a huge plus to the overall experience.
The interiors are warm and cozy with fresco-looking Greek paintings on the wall.

Food was really good and prices are reasonable. The beef souvlaki and lamb roast were cooked perfectly. The chicken breasts were a little overcooked. All plates came with Greek salad and rice which is standard for most Greek restaurants. I highly recommend the Tamara dip and Saganaki.

I have always loved this restaurant, the moussaka is amazing. We got the platter last night and between 2 people, it was way too much food🙈 when it's not foggy, there is such an amazing view too.

Nice table to enjoy the view of the water! I enjoyed the roast lamb platter here. Moist lamb, good size, boneless and not very fatty. It came with a nice fresh bowl of Greek salad, rice, potatoes and bread. I was very full after. We tried the Ek Mek dessert which was delicious, not too sweet and was a good size for two to share. I'd come back to try other dishes.

Prices are a little bit higher than average but I wouldn’t say crazy expensive.

Beautiful location and easy access through transit or driving.

Unfortunately the servers didn’t provide an outstanding experience but it was ok.

I can write a full essay about the service, the food, and the ambiance. However, I will keep it simple. Great food, great people, amazing ambience, and with good company you cannot go wrong! FYI there are some options for my vegetarian friends as well.
The owners are from Greece and they know how to make great Greek food. I was surprised by the way they treated us, it really made me miss home!
If you drink I highly suggest you to get OUZO!!
Can’t wait to visit again!

Great Greek food! We are from Calgary. We were visiting our son in New Westminster and felt like some Greek food. We went to Taverna and had a great experience. Food, staff, and feel of the restaurant were all excellent. Highly recommend.

We were driving by Saturday night and went in at 8:59pm and the kitchen was to close at 9pm, and they sat us down and made us dinner! Fantastic service, the food was AMAZING, and will definitely go back next time we are in New Westminster! 10/10 recommend!

My favourite Greek restaurant. The food is delicious, I especially love the roast lamb and the rotating specials are always a treat. They have good selection of wines, beers, and cocktails, including Greek beers and wines that go wonderfully with the food. Locally owned and operated, the family who runs the restaurant are great people and care for their food and customers.

Glad to have tried this place last week and will definitely go back for a dine-in experience.

Almost had to stop the car somewhere on the road because the smell of the food was so good.

Food was absolutely delicious with the appies being my fav. The garlic prawns sauce was rich and added more taste to the rice and also used it as a dip for the pita bread too. Calamari was super soft and fresh tasting too with the generous amount of onions adding a nice sweet taste.

The lamb chops was spot on and very tender too. Only thing about the lamb chop dish is that I didn't really like the way the potatoes were cooked. Not sure how they were cooked but, the outer layer of it was a little hard instead of a fully soft potato. Otherwise, everything was awesome.

We shared a family platter and it was delicious! The gentleman taking care of us was one of the owners, he showed us interesting boats and told us about the new bridge. Wonderful experience!

If you're looking for a unique dining experience this is the place to go, the view of the Frasier river is spectacular, but we're not talking about the view were talking about the food.

Oh boy was I treated to exceptional meal, the hummus and pita appetizer was delightful you could taste how fresh the chickpeas and garlic was, it was complimented with a hot pita

And for the main course I had the lamb skewers which was amazing seasoned nicely, very tender, and flavorful the Greek salad was a nice contrast.

I enjoyed the rice but the texture was more soft than I prefer.

Otherwise I had great experience if you're in New Westminster area hit them up.

We were lucky to be able to experience this Greek Restaurant before the lockdown due to the health crisis. As you can see the view from our table is amazing and especially we had the luck to view the beautiful sunset!

Food is fantastic! My Lamb Chop is cooked to perfection and very tender and juicy, the marination of lemon, garlic & olive oil further enhance the flavours! The Greek Appy Platter is also a great way to try out different items if you have difficulties to decide!

Service is outstanding and very professional & friendly! Kudos to Chloe & the other young lady that served us!! Soon as everything goes back to normal we will be back to enjoy their food & the great people there!!

The staff is amazing every visit (my husbands very fav place), but particularly last one. Super service. Friends who cane for the fist time were blown away by the food and service, view etc.
