Dimar Shoe Repair

Pablo did an amazing job replacing my Vibram wedge sole to Dainite on my Alden Indy boots. He added a new mid sole, new metal shank, new leather heel bases, cleaned and conditioned them to perfection. Stitching was perfect and now feels like a new boot. These are gonna last years now! Above the excellent work, it was Pablo’s customer service and how kind he was when speaking to me that set him a part. Awesome guy!

I brought Pablo two pairs of shoes that are nearly 15 years old: a pair of Red Wing boots that had a cracked rubber sole, and a pair of badly neglected Allen Edmonds dress shoes.

Pablo did his magic on the Red Wings, basically rebuilding them with all custom work from the uppers on downward, and somehow took a pair of nearly destroyed shoes into something even better than the day I got them. I have sent my shoes back to Allen Edmonds for recrafting, but I think Pablo does an even better job than the factory.

Words don't do it justice, so see the photos below. Pablo quoted me a price that was more than fair and communicated promptly when delays popped up (which was totally fair given the amount of work required).

Pablo is such an amazing craftsman. I had an idea for my Iron Rangers, and Pablo made that idea come to life better than I could have imagined. Living across the country from him, and having never stepped foot in his shop, I was slightly anxious about boxing up by boots and mailing them in for a recraft. But I gave it a shot and wow, I’m glad I did (and certainly will again).

I emailed him for a quote, he promptly replied back and we discussed options over email. I decided to go forward with the recraft and he sent me a digital invoice. I paid the invoice and mailed my boots off.

When Pablo received them, he emailed to let me know, and then exchanged a few questions with me via email. He offered a phone call, which wasn’t needed this time, but I’m sure would have been just as great as the email exchange. Then he got to work. The results speak for themselves.

I love love this place! They are so kind and knowledgeable. Their work is amazing and they can do so much. They take pride in thier work and can be trusted to give good advice. I've gotten shoes stretched here, and vintage leather peices that had colours scratches restored here by hand painted colour matching that looked flawless after, and general leather shoe repair. And when that hole reopened from wear and tear they refixed the hole for free. And when that shoe began to fall apart in several places they reccomended i invest in new shoes and reccomended brands and why theyd be good - instead of just continuing to repair my dying shoes. I trust these people so much!

Ditmar always does a fantastic job plus they're super friendly! Have had many pairs of Birks re-soled and re-built. Costs way less than buying a new pair and it's environmentally friendly :)

I had gotten my two pairs of boots done elsewhere in Toronto, and was pretty disappointed with the poor glue job they did. The Vibram sole guard started to peel off shortly after the job was done. I heard about Dimar Shoe Repair from a YouTube channel called Bedo's Leatherworks and was surprised that there was a shop in Guelph that seemed like they do quality work.

They absolutely do and I'm very glad I brought my boots here! Pablo talked me through what was going to happen, the price of service, and lead time.

The lead time took a bit longer, but Pablo was open and up front about it so there was no surprises. I'd much rather wait longer and get something done properly than to get a rushed job.

Pablo informed me as soon as possible of a little mishap on one of my pairs of boots (wrong type of toe tap installed) but had quickly resolved it within the same day. The honest and quick communication is really appreciated and is something that I find difficult to come by these days.

The outcome of both boots were great! I am very excited to continue to wear them out, and I will definitely bring more of my boots to Dimar in the near future!

I've been looking for a highly skilled cobbler in Canada, that works with quality materials at a decent price. Dimar Shoe Repair did a great job transforming my boots into Blake stitched construction. Pablo was excited about my project and was very helpful throughout the process, constantly sending updates regarding my boots. He even sent me a pair of round waxed laces and added an extra insole as a gift. All these little things keep a customer satisfied and loyal to your business. I wish I had known Pablo and his shop before, could have saved some of my older shoes or boots, that others destroyed.
Can't wait for my future resoles, will be definitely reaching out again. Thanks Pablo!

The entire experience with Pablo was first class. I was hoping to revive my two pairs of Red Wings which I thought might be beyond updating. Pablo walked be through the decision process and boy, did he ever deliver! I am so happy with the work he did on the 875s and 8138s. Outstanding craftsmanship and customer service! I will definitely be returning to Dimar!

If you are a vintage shoe enthusiast, you might need occasional repairs. I took a chance on Dimar as an out-of-towner while visiting family in the Guelph area and the result was astounding. Pablo did a complete resole of a pair of boots on an impossible deadline to ensure I could return home with them. Talk about customer service! Completely impressed and will return.

Brought in a pair of Wellington Style Thorogood work boots for re-soling. They put on a Vibram that matched the old one. Very impressed and happy to get more life out of a great pair of boots. Highly recommended and great craftsmanship.

I have had two backpacks (one leather and one not) fixed here and one leather sandal. I am all about reduce, reuse, recycle and I am so happy that this store exists to help extend the life of items that are heavily used. I am very pleased with how the items have turned out. The quality of their work is evident and the pricing is fair and consistent. The staff are also pleasant and personable, which helps to make it one of my favourite businesses in Guelph!
