Guelph Public Library - Main Library

Wide collections of books. Internet access and amble place to sit and just read until 8:00 PM. Free membership if you have a photo ID with address in Guelph. Furthermore, do have facility to take prints at a cost. Great deal, go ahead become a member.

Valuable place for downtown. Very accessible. The staff is very approachable and always wanna make sure you’ve got what you need whether its books or printing needs or computer needs. Support your public libraries. This place acts as a warming center as well which is ESSENTIAL and amazing. The online access is also quite comprehensive from magazines to audiobooks. Always love passing by the library to pick up books while walking my dog.

Im so amazed with the service at this library. Hold requests and ILLs are fulfilled so quickly and the staff are so helpful and friendly. A huge thank you to the folks who work here.

It is huge. Friendly staff. On going activities. Always something there to learn. Cool place.

Is this building kind of gross? Yes. Does it look kind of like a nuclear bunker? It sure does. Are the washrooms closed most of the time? Yup. HOWEVER, despite it's worn out charms, I kind of like it. Its really the heart and soul of downtown. Its got most of the books you'll ever need. The staff are angles. And most importantly its serves as an essential haven for those in need. Its got computers and places to study for those who don't have them. Libraries are not just book repositories but have evolved into a general public good which is designed to tie the community closer together and serve all with dignity and equality. Therefore, despite it being a rather ugly place on the surface, I will always take pride in our flagship public library because its such an important part of our community and city. So next time you visit, try not to be turned off by its rough edges and rather look at the bigger picture of this institution!

Excellent amenities, well organized, friendly staff. The children's section on the second floor is spectacular and not only boasts a large selection of books, but fun areas for littles to explore and tables where they can get creative.

Such a great place to bring your children. There is a whole floor dedicated to children's books and activities, for children of ALL ages.

There is always a craft and interactive display which makes every visit extra fun.

I always go tho this library as they have all the books you will ever want, and if you don’t they immediately request it for you from Toronto etc. And the staff is SUPER friendly they’re so helpful always you can tell they like what they do! :)

The staff are so friendly and helpful!! I've seen them be kind to everyone, especially seniors and people down on their luck. The library itself is clean and organized and comfortable to be in. Keep up the great work Guelph PL staff!!

One of the best smaller community libraries I've ever been to. Can even sign out DVDs and blue Ray's. Staff is knowledgeable kind. Beautiful safe place to study and read.

I love the Guelph Public Library - it's one of my favourite places. During the Covid lock down staff volunteered to find me interesting books about topics that I enjoy such as home decorating, cooking and gardening. They would put together a stack of books and all I needed to do was pick them up in a safe say!

I picked up two holds today and received fast and friendly service by Felsey. I am so thankful that our libraries are still open during the lockdown. The new process is easy, fast, safe and the staff has continued to provide the friendly and professional service we have come to enjoy from them. Keep up the excellent work! I will look forward to being back in person at your branch and all the other Guelph library branches again soon!

It's a wonderful library spread out between two floors. Thousands of fantastic books to explore. Located in the heart of Guelph, it is one place that will captivate, and inspire all who enjoy reading.
