Norfolk Guest House

This is our 2nd year staying at Norfolk and we're looking forward to our next visit! We stayed in Penthouse and Bombay rooms and they were lovely. Took a star off Rooms because some cleaning equipment/vacuum was left outside the room on the landing which took away from the otherwise amazing ambiance. Jennifer made us two really yummy breakfasts and was very friendly. The breakfast is a high point for us :) The grounds are amazing! and it's nice and close (but not TOO close) to downtown. This place is incredible. My favorite bed and breakfast ever. Just gorgeously decorated, amazing breakfasts, best energy, lovely guests. Would come here again and again and again. Loved the in room jacuzzi too! I was in the queen suite.

If you are looking for a quiet getaway, Norfolk B & B is the place to go. I stayed in the gorgeous Queen Suite. This B & B is so peaceful. Janet and all her staff are welcoming and friendly. The breakfasts and service by Chef Jennifer were outstanding!
The breakfasts were delicious. Such a great way to start the day. I enjoyed everything about my stay!

Lovely experience! Beautiful grounds and tastefully decorated! Perfect for pictures. Very impressed with our Grand view room, over 1000 square feet, with a rap around balcony absolutely gorgeous! Bed was huge and comfortable! Wifi worked great. I would recommend filling the jacuzzi tab well in advance, as is a nice size and it takes a while to fill in. The shower is also for 2.
Breakfast was delicately plated and delicious, my husband loved the coffee. Janet the owner made us feel really comfortable! She’s very knowledgeable when it comes to great place to visit in the area! We had a great time, and will be recommending this gem to all our friends.

So tastefully decorated and super clean. Tea and coffee available 24/7 and a hot/cold water cooler on both floors. All rooms are en suite except The Bombay but trust me, the short walk across the hall is worth it. Every time I am in Guelph, I stay here. 950 meters to River Run Centre. No keys to forget, door code instead. No silly little bottles of soap, shampoo etc. that end up in landfills but rather, eco containers. On site parking.

An amazing BnB. Stayed for two nights in the Pandora Suite. It was perfect for our needs with a very comfortable bed and private washroom. The owner Janet was always available and helped her Chef Jennifer with the morning breakfasts.
The breakfasts were delicious and really 5 star. We will definitely be back to stay here again on our next trip to visit family in the Guelph area.

Loved my stay at the Norfolk Guest House! Janet, the owner, was so friendly and hospitable; she's done an amazing job of creating a warm, inviting, and zen BnB experience! Everything from the bespoke decor, preserved century home features, soft jazz music, and lovely conversation over a delicious homemade breakfast made for a memorable and comfortable visit. I recommend this place to everyone!

We stayed in the Grandview Suite for a romantic getaway. The room was magnificent, the wrap around porch offered a beautiful view, and the jacuzzi tub was spacious and relaxing. Breakfast was beautiful and delicious. Service was discreet and prompt.

We discovered Norfolk Bed and Breakfast last year and have visited twice in the last 5 months. It’s a quick and easy drive from Toronto and Janet offers not just excellent customer service but also the most delicious made to order breakfast. We always stay at the Penthouse suite, which is beautiful. It’s huge with a fireplace, a designated dinning area, an in suite hot tub, a large bathroom and a spacious balcony with a view. It’s also pet friendly but you would never know without asking! It’s clean, well decorated and cozy. The room is well equipped with everything you need and you also have access to the kitchen downstairs for tea or coffee. A perfect home away from home to rest and recharge. Delicious restaurants nearby offer dinner and lunch options and there are hiking trails as well as the arboretum for daytime adventuring. This place is truly a hidden gem and we highly recommend it!

After being given the daunting task of trying to find comfortable accommodations for our somewhat fussy group of 5 couples and 1 single at the beginning of August of this year I was profoundly lucky to stumble upon the website for the Norfolk Guest House and our host Janet. From our first phone conversation Janet put my mind at ease as I rattled off detail after detail that would need accommodating and she immediately went over and above to make sure everything would go as planned. From the minute we pulled up to the Guest house we felt at home. It was truly a joy stepping into this gorgeous stately manor to find our rooms as clean and comfortable as we expected each with its own cozy bed, huge bathroom and lots of clean fresh towels. Our biggest priority was spending time together as a group and with Janet’s help we were able to use the downstairs dining room and beautiful garden as our central meeting spots where we were able to share lots of laughs, great stories and the amazing coffee and breakfast that Janet made for us each day. It was just a perfect mix of privacy and togetherness that we wouldn’t find in a cold commercial hotel.
Thanks to Janet our weekend away was better than we could have even imagined. Nothing but shining reviews from this group for sure!! We would be more than happy to recommend The Norfolk Guest house to anyone travelling to the area.

I have a new standard for hotels and B&Bs after staying at the Norfolk Guest House. The building is beautiful inside and out, including gorgeous and clean rooms and the best mattress I have ever slept on during my travels. Our host was lovely to chat with each morning during breakfast (which was always delicious), and she even alerted us when we forgot something in our room post-checkout. I cannot recommend this b&b enough to anyone visiting Guelph.

Only had a one-night stay at the Norfolk but was highly impressed by both the house itself and the innkeepers. A beautiful historical building situated within walking distance to downtown, Janet was both professional and affable and made staying here a pleasure to do so, and I would happily make a reservation here again.

Absolutely perfect!! The house is gorgeous, and the rooms are beautifully decorated, quiet, and very comfortable. Breakfast was lovely. The location is perfect, a short walk to the downtown. Janet is a very gracious hostess. I had to change the length of my stay at the last moment due to a family emergency and she was very flexible, accommodating and considerate. I will definitely be back!

What a nice place to stay! We were in the Turkish room. Bed was a very comfortable memory foam mattress. Spacious bathroom. But the best part might have been the ‘continental’ breakfast. Home made fresh croissants!!! Eggs, fruit, etc. Janet is incredibly nice and accommodating. I will be staying here again.

We have stayed at the Norfolk many times over the last few years. It is an incredibly warm, comforting and relaxing space. Janet is always welcoming and a wonderful person. The rooms are spotlessly clean, all meticulously decorated with good taste and great care. There is a room for every occasion all with very comfy beds and lovely white bed linen. The breakfasts are lovely home cooked, always hot and tasty. Coffee is excellent and always plentiful! I highly recommend Norfolk Guest House for anyone needing a place to stay in Guelph. Thank you Janet for your hard work and dedication to providing such a wonderful place to stay.

My husband and I stayed here for our 10 year anniversary and it exceeded our expectations! We stayed in the Grandview Suite and it was so spacious, tastefully decorated and comfortable. And the bedsheets!!! They were the softest sheets I have ever slept on. It is conveniently located within walking distance of downtown. Wonderful stay and highly recommend it!

I was googling a non traditional hotel for my fiancee and I to spend our wedding night this year and stumbled upon the guest house. From the beginning Janet was more then accommodating. When COVID-19 changed things for the worse in terms of our after wedding meal, again Janet was there to step up and create a night that we'll always remember. The room was very well kept and clean with a lot of character. I would have liked the hot tub to be a bit warmer, but the stand up 2 person shower more than made up for it. Even the small details of in room flowers and small cards at our table and punch for our meal was something that we definitely appreciated. We could not have been more thrilled. Not light on the pocketbook, but 100% worth it. We will be back for sure!

For our 5 year anniversary my partner and I stayed in the Grandview Suite. I'm glad to say the experience was fantastic, the owner was friendly, helpful, and able to accommodate our special requests. The jacuzzi was definitely a great way to relax and enjoy our stay. The room was clean, put together well, and very cozy. Ordering the in-room breakfast allowed us to request what we would like (French Toast, with Sausage) and it was absolutely fantastic. After our experience we cannot wait to go again!

My husband and I stayed here last week and loved it. Our room was gorgeous, the breakfast delicious and our bathroom (private to us and across the hall) was massive. We could walk to downtown's shops and restaurants and not worry about parking. Highly recommended!
