Zen Gardens

Order takeout last night, and we will definitely be back again! We were visiting Guelph from Ottawa and were so happy to find out that Guelph has a veggie Chinese restaurant! Seems to be all vegan with the exception of cheesecake. The vegan chicken balls were really good, I've never seen them at any other vegan restaurant before! We also tried the wonton soup, chow mein, beef and brocolli, and a curry, everything was great! Portions were large as well.

Vegan or not, you MUST give this place a try. The food is absolutely delicious, truly a "Mom's home cooking" vibe.
Veggie Curry Samosas: flavourful, sweet, filled with potatos and spice. Flaky crispy shell.
Soy chicken balls: crispy shell, tasty "chicken" that's seasoned well on the outside.
Ginger Soy Chicken Fried Rice: so tasty! Flavours remind me of my childhood.

The soy chicken texture is surprisingly palatable. While obviously not chicken, it's still very tasty and provides the chewy feedback of meat. Much better than yves fake meat products in my opinion.

Jasmine tea served loss leaf, very good.

Interior is very cute and cozy. What a better way to eat a home cooked meal than somewhere that feels like home?

I'm so excited to return to try other dishes from their large menu selection.

Went for lunch and the service was really great and food was good too. This is a fully vegetarian restaurant. Portions are great and the presentation was exceptional. This restaurant is really clean and has a clean washroom. This place has fee parking. Highly recommend this place for all vegetarian lovers and will definitely return.

By far the best Vegan food we’ve ever had! Everything we ordered was delicious. It was so delicious we ordered more to go to make sure we had some for the next day! Definitely recommend.

I visited Zen Gardens recently for dinner and was pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of menu options as well as the quality of the food. Upon arrival, I was promptly seated by a friendly and attentive staff member. My miso soup, dumplings, and veggie sushi platter arrived at my table quickly and tasted great. The restaurant itself is relatively small and there isn't a lot of available parking, but neither of these factors negatively affected my experience.

Delicious! Loved the restaurant setting. Very casual, homey (literally). If you go you'll know what I mean. I had the spicy tofu combo which came with salad, a side soup of choice (I picked veg wonton), purple rice and 2 triangles which is similar to a samosa. The only thing I wish was different is that we were not given plates and food was served in takeout containers. To some this could be a small picky thing but I've always preferred to eat on actual plates when dining in restaurants. Also, we were given water in paper cups and didn't receive tea. Found out we had to order that. Other than that, it was great and left with very full bellies. The flavour was wonderful right down to the broth of the soup. Will definitely be back the next time we are in Guelph again

What a AWESOME place! Not only is the food absolutely delicious, but the people are so welcoming and kind!
We ordered for the first time tonight and got take out - we ordered a lot of different dishes and none disappointed! It's been over 15 years since I've been able to enjoy a chicken ball and I loved every bite!
Will definitely be ordering from here as often as we can - 10/10 service and 10/10 food! Thank you!

Amazing option for vegetarians to explore yummy Chinese food. Their options are all meat free and delicious and we keep going back to try more of their taste tickling dishes. A must try for all when in the area!

We will start off with the location, well it's in a house, it's a small place with a calm atmosphere. Nice calming music. The staff was great, friendly and answered our questions. Everything was vegan which is new to me, I've never had vegan Thai food before. I was pleasantly surprised. The Pad Thai vegan style was good and piping hot to boot 🤣 we all almost burned our mouths, I laugh because all four of us made the same mistake of not blowing on our food prior to digging in, it smelled that good! Bonus to this place! The lovely friends I shared a meal with ordered extra to bring home to their other sons which Zen garden happily prepared for them and was ready when we all left. Cozy place only like 4-5 tables, very intimate.

I would totally recommend this place for dates and family gatherings. The food was delicious although different from the kind of Thai food I've enjoyed in the past. But don't be fooled by this place it's very very good.

This is our third time to order food for my co-workers lunch time , we just tell the owner how many people and $10 for each , she will made a little buffet for us , We all like the food and always eat so full , also every time have some leftover for dinner. First time we have 12 people , this time we have 6 , I recommend to let her choose the food for you . Then, she will have little surprise for you every time .

I came here with a friend and we were so pleasantly surprised! We had such great service and the food was great. I was so excited finding this place being a vegetarian and all the food we ordered did not disappoint. We ordered the dim sum dishes, which is almost impossible to find as a vegetarian, as well as the pan-fried dumplings which are a must. But everything is veggie or vegan, delicious and reasonably priced especially if you plan on sharing...even my non-vegetarian friend was convinced. Definitely recommend!

My partner and I got takeout last Friday. It was delicious and the restaurant kindly added some small appetizers to our order! Every item was tasty and warm. The menu is great and accessible for vegans, but my meat-eating partner loved it too!

Gave this restaurant a try for the first time and was extremely impressed! The restaurant is cozy and relaxed, and the service is quick. Everything we ordered exceeded our expectations; the food was fresh and delicious! I recommend the steamed dumplings, vegan pork buns and veggie sushi. As a vegan I was delighted to find this gem, and will definitely go back!

Amazing Asian Vegetarian cuisine. The food was absolutely delicious and I'm not vegetarian. Even my 11 month old daughter really enjoyed everything we gave her! The only thing that I thought was strange was in the dinner combo, the dessert was Chips Ahoy cookies. If the dessert were something like Matcha ice cream or Red Bean ice cream I would have been a little more thrilled about the dessert part to the dinner.

We visit this restaurant regularly. The food is always great. As we are vegan, it is often hard to find delicious food without substitutions. Everything at this restaurant can be vegan. The staff is always wonderful. We have brought friends and family here. We highly recommend it to everyone. We make sure we come here to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries.

Great atmosphere. The staff was very pleasant. Very humble. One of the only places that respects vegan choices in the city. I've gone here at least 20 times now, and each time have been pleasantly surprised with both flavour and originality of their cuisine. A lot of foods to choose from. A MUST visit if you're into oriental cuisine or especially vegan/vegetarian.

My favourite restaurant! They have such amazing food that is decently priced! I would drive an hour just to get take out from here.

Lovely intimate, almost feeling like visiting someone's home. Delicious healthy freshfood, so many choices. Cannot go wrong. With ten people the bill was $200. We were stuffed. Highly recommended. Our family reunion dinner was a hit, big success! Asian vegetarian restaurant with vegan options. Love it!
