Right at Home Home Care - Guelph and Wellington

We only used Right at Home on one occasion when we moved my 90 year old mother from one nursing home to another, but I was so impressed with their service. Yes, they were professional and easy to work with, but they actually really care. They took the time to find about my mother’s needs and to tailor their service to really meet them. They went to the trouble of screening for Covid so the psw didn’t need to wear a mask. They found out what her interests were and her difficulties and they worked hard to meet her needs. All for a two hour job. So impressed. And the support person was truly lovely. Highly recommend.

Right At Home were able to set up in home supervision on short notice which was greatly appreciated. All of the visiting staff were friendly, helpful and open to suggestions as per our mother's wishes. Thanks for helping out when we were in the lurch.

I can't say enough about Right at Home! They are so compassionate and make the effort to get to know your loved one . They choose caregivers to suit your loved one's personality. They respond to requests right away. The caregivers are experienced, kind and considerate. They really go the extra mile and you will immediately feel a sense of relief when you meet them and realize your loved one, my dear mother in this case, is in good hands and will be safe. I would especially like to thank Laurie and Tara and Anne for everything..and their visits really cheered us up ...but they have all been wonderful with my Mom as well as with any tasks we asked them for help with...and of course thank you to my first point of contact, the nurse care planner in Guelph, Andrea Schilha - its so nice to encounter someone so knowledgeable, hands on and helpful working in this field. While it was challenging to trust my Mom to the care and support of others, I was more than reassured and comforted by a recent experience ... I ran into Mom with her care provider Tara, doing Mom's weekly grocery shopping. They did not notice me at first, and while I waited for them to catch up so I could say hello, I had the chance to watch their interactions. You can imagine my joy and reassurance to see Mom and Tara having a great time doing the week's shopping - laughing and talking like the best of friends. Clearly, despite Mom's limitations she and Tara have established a wonderful relationship from which Mom can only benefit. Mom now refers to all the care providers (and a shout out to Gloria as well, Mom's other main care provider) from Right At Home as "my lady friends" !

The care team from Right at Home Waterloo Wellington was invaluable in supporting my mum in her retirement home as her health declined towards needing long-term care. Right at Home took great pains to match the personalities of their PSW staff with my mum's, and then optimized the scheduling of a limited number of care givers. The care-givers were wonderful companions, excellent health-care providers and extremely reliable - even in bad weather, and in urgent situations. The management team was very responsive to problems and questions, with solutions which were practical, useful and cost-effective. I highly recommend talking with Right at Home Waterloo Wellington if you need any kind of care, for yourself or a loved one.

We have been receiving PSW support from Right At Home in the Niagara Region for a year now; in that time, devoted caregivers have followed and attended to my Mother at Anchor Pointe in Port Dalhousie, at 2 hospitals in seven weeks, and at River Road Retirement in Niagara Falls. The service and care, under the direction of Trish, is exceptional; her caregivers are genuinely caring. Whether they are helping my Mother transfer, walk, bathe, or taking her outside or to the cafe for a change of scene and cup of tea, each one is a gem. One of them brings her homemade baking! What peace of mind, to have this kind of support when I am unable to see my Mother every day. We are so very grateful to the staff and caregivers of Right At Home and give them our highest recommendation.

We were really struggling with inconsistent and unreliable PSW service after my husband was suddenly released from hospital permanently in a wheelchair and in need of considerable assistance. Right at Home's wonderful workers now provide daily care and help with meals and laundry, etc. He has made substantial progress and their caring and cheerful presence has allowed us to adapt to our new reality.

Our entire family is grteful to Laura and the amazing team at Right at Home in Guelph. In the last year of our mother's life, we were astonished by how immediately available skilled and caring help was, for unforeseen events.
