Have been going to this shop for years now, I built 3 bikes with them, truly a wonderful place. Fast, professional service each time.
You can tell Yanick and his father Jaime really put a lot of care and attention into the shop. They are good at reassuring me if there are any issues and coming up with a game plan that meets my needs and budget.
I've also rented their electric bikes a few times, it's a great way to explore the Mont Royal nearby!

Last minute, we decided to take e-bikes up Mont Royal. We were referred to La Bicycletterie JR and were not disappointed. They were able to get us on bikes immediately and were accommodating about our last minute late day ride! So helpful! Thank you for making it a great ride to the top!

Had a mechanical while it was raining and I was without the tool to fix it. The shop staff were able to fix it quickly and get me home for a more permanent repair closer to me (I live on the other side of town otherwise I would have left my bike with them to repair). If I need to buy a part, I know where I'm going. Highly recommend.

Had a great experience at the bike shop today. My son's stroller tires were flat and I couldn't fill it myself. The guy there was so helpful and professional, he showed me how to realign the tire so that air would go in and filled it up in seconds for me. Thank you 😁

Full disclosure;
1. I was going to write this for them because I forgot to bring cash for a tip but I owe them a good review anyways.
2. I am pretty sure a couple years ago I said I would do this, oops.
3. I am a longtime customer and fan for around 15 years of JR cycles, I would have given them a five star even if for some reason it was a 4 star service at the moment. (It would average out to 5 stars for sure). I don't give out reviews or 5 stars easily.
3. I ride a very unsexy GT frame with cargo forks that is so uncool my girlfriend probably considered that being a single mother of 3 was better than being with a guy who had this bike.
4. I may have forgotten to write this again but this is what happened and why I am writing all these bullet points; I got on my bike after its yearly tune up, and my clunky uncool girlfriend-sexy-vibe-killer bike took off like a tour-de-France-ready road bike! It was so tight! I kid you not I had to look to see if they accidentally installed an electric assist motor on my lovely bike. (I love my bike) I was laughing and streaking up one way streets the wrong way, shouting and smiling all the way home. I am not kidding you either. I had not been that excited to get on my bike for a long time. So now I am writing this because of that experience to say some good things from an honest feeling I have. JR's is a gem and here is why; Jaime the owner is still at the helm, and his style of business is a hands-on take care of you like you are my family and give you the best price. They will not (in my experience over all these years) take advantage of you, they will not try to trick you nor replace things that do not need replacing. I always recommend them because the boss cares and that kind of attitude shows in all his employees. Even though, as it is with all owners like Jaime, I always want to see him there and be served by him, I never mind being taken care of by his employees because I feel his care and attention coming through in their actions. It boils down to that magical word you always looking for in a business, trust. I trust them. I wish them continued success and I did this in the end not from a sense of obligation or for the tip I forgot to leave, but from an honest urge for them to succeed and keep on keeping on. So if for some reason you do get bad service there, give them a chance and call Jaime instead of 1 star reviewing them! No one is perfect for sure, but I guarantee you it is just a rotten egg employee (they happen!), or a bad day for a good employee or you may have been unkind yourself without realizing it. Good luck to all the team there and to Jaime. If you had a t-shirt I would buy one.

Really great service. Had a flat tube replaced, took 30 mins, 10$ for the tube and 10$ for the labour. It's not the closest shop to me but it's definitely worth the trek next time I need a repair

Best bike shop in the city! Before I had my own bike I rented from here and I was able to find the best bike for my needs out of their assorted colours and styles. Then when I finally got my own bike, I came here to get her spruced up and that was an equally great experience. I will continue to come back for their excellent service, wonderful employees and quality parts!

Being an avid cyclist from Vancouver, I was concerned about the quality & reliability of rental bikes. The hybrids we rented here were good spec and very well tuned. Yannick was very helpful putting lights on the bikes for evening riding as well as a tool kit, tube & pump for my long ride. Great shop !

Great service and super friendly! I’ve rented bikes and have also purchased accessories for my bike as well as taken it in for some minor adjustments. Always helpful and very reasonably priced. Even fixed one of my lights for me without asking! Thank you so much!

Great service, friendly and helpful. Bikes worked as advertised with no issues, and the staff were quick to attend to us at pick up and drop off.

I brought my bike in with what appeared to be a simple bearing issue, but this was not the case. This shop performed a diagnostic on my bike and identified several other areas in which the bikes performance was lacking. While I was frustrated at first, due to the delay in fixing the original problem, upon speaking with staff it was clear that they were considering my safety and bikes longevity at every turn.

When I explained to them I could not afford to complete all the suggested repairs, the shop worked to identify the areas that could be improved that would ensure my safety while riding, while respecting my budget.

I can not recommend this shop more, from the care and attention to detail, to their unwillingness to have me leave with a less than stellar bike~!

Very fair price for a handle replacement. I didn’t have the right tools to fix it, so I asked to borrow a socket wrench - the guy kindly and fairly explained that they can’t do that, which is totally understandable. Only cost me $18 all up. Even on marketplace, you couldn’t find a replacement that cheap

Employees were great at picking out the parts I needed (I have zero knowledge on tires/tubes). And the guy with the platinum/purple hair was great in giving me instructional advice on how to replace the tube and tire of my bike on my own. Very generous and helpful, I'll be coming back for parts and if need be, service!

I haven't owned a bike in over 45 years but, within 2 years, I bought 4 ebikes. I do not have the head nor patience to work with tools. Luckily, La Bicycletterie JR is closeby to make all my repairs or modifications no matter how big or small. These guys are fantastic! Their work is top notch and their customer service is superb! The entire crew is very friendly and accommodating. Thanks to La Bicycletterie JR, this summer is the best I've ever had.

Professional and fast service with really fair pricing. I'm new to cycling and after my bike kept breaking, getting fixed, and breaking again I was hesitant to keep repairing it at all, and wary of impatient mechanics quoting me unreasonable prices. JR explained all the options to me, what and why needed to be fixed and the pricing for each option. Even spent extra effort repairing parts that he could have easily said were broken and needed to be bought new. Got a basically new bike in only a few days. Amazing service, friendly and thorough, will be back.

I own their friendly staff a 5 star review 😄😄 I brought my boy's little bike there, it needed some adjustments. One staff came to me, fixed it gently and quickly without charging me anything. I do appreciate the help! Even this may be easy for him, but it is not easy for me.
