I cannot say enough how amazing our night was at Gibby’s. From the excellent chowder, to the perfect lobster tail, the food exceeded expectations. The sorbet cleanser and little vacuum to keep your table clean, just the right touch. Luke, our waiter, went above and beyond to give us great service. Gibby’s holds a special place in my heart, as I was here years ago with my son, so this memory tour was extra special.

I attended a private party here with about 60 guests. It was exceptional. They offered branded menus and the service was impeccable. The food was delicious. I have zero complaints except there was sooooo much food and it was all so great I left too full! Would absolutely get their halibut again. The service was extraordinary and they were diligent with refills and keeping things/people sorted.

Food and service was excellent. Steak was juicy and flavorful. My friend loved her salmon and the waiter made sure she knew all along of what there is a chance of contamination due to her peanut allergies. Love the building and decor. Very intimate.

The classic steak house is done right and timeless. The food was impeccable, service was truly quality, and the atmosphere was nostalgic of an older time. If you're looking for a great dinner, come here sometime.

Enjoy an upscale dining experience in a historic building which used to be a stable. This classic steakhouse features your typical cuts of steak with optional seafood additions for surf and turf. Wine selection is good and the service was exceptional so expect to be pampered. Alejandro was very attentive and kind. The homemade bread and the kosher pickles were great. The steaks were pretty good and the house salad was delicious.

Wonderful upscale steakhouse in a very old heritage building.

The menu is large with a lot of great beef cuts, and each entrée comes with a salad and a Monte Carlo (twice baked potato) or fries. We also received complimentary bread and pickles, which were tasty.

The beef wellington was superb, a nice flaky crust with a tender filet cut. My partner ordered the sirloin steak, which was also tender and juicy.

The staff was also friendly and attentive.

I highly recommend Gibby's for residents or visitors!

A true 5 star steak house experience in Montreal! An absolute must! The experience starts off in a beautiful heritage building in Old Port of Montreal. You will find helpful staff and white tablecloth tables.

We came here with a large party so we ordered almost everything on the menu to try. The cowboy steak is a true show stopper. Flavorful, well served and not chewy. Perfect to share.

The mains come with a salad, a trou normand and side (Monte Carlo potato is a must)

Beef wellington was so well done! Flaky on the outside, tender meat on the inside. The sauce that came with it was also excellent.

For dessert, the chocolate Gibby's is excellent. Like a chocolate hazelnut mousse with a nice textured layer in there.

Staff was attentive and knew the menu well.

Great selection of steaks. Well executed dishes. Rack of lamb was a delight! And OMG the carpaccio! The truffles scent on the carpaccip was so aromatic! One of the best we've ever had. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys a good ol' fashion steakhouse.

I had been curious about this restaurant for a while after seeing many great reviews. The exterior and interior atmosphere of the restaurant are superb. The staff are kind, friendly, quick in their work, and very attentive. Before the steak, a salad and lemon sherbet for palate cleansing are served. The steak is so large that it overflows from the plate! The cooking is also perfect! This is my favorite restaurant that I visit every time I travel to Montreal.

Very delicious, we took the Blue cheese salad + Salmon/Rice + Rib steak/baked Patato with Diane Sauce. Everything was great, and super service!! Would definetly come back!!

Gibby’s is a must go to when you visit Old Montreal. The service was impeccable. Every bite was a wow! Serving on pewter plates was charming given the building dates back to the 1500’s. The sorbet between meals you don’t see very often. We had Beef Wellington and rack of lambs. The meat was so tender. The Morocco potato was amazing. You could taste the onion & bacon pieces and the potato was so creamy. The crème brulee was made with vanilla bean was topped off with fresh strawberries… delicious! Ending the meal with a dark chocolate mint wafers was the grand finale!

My husband and I drove down from Ottawa for our anniversary dinner. We had the absolute honour of being accompanied by Kas. He was genuinely such a gem. Explained every and anything to us. Was a delight while bringing us our appetizers and meals etc. I don’t usually leave reviews,but my husband and I were so happy with his service. The food was great,but we’ll be back just to see him. Thanks again Kas!

First visit and definitely a memorable one. We were assigned a table in the basement dining area which was very nice. We tried crab cakes for appetizers (a must, if you ask me) then halibut and rib eye steak for the main course. Food is great, what more can I say?

Service was impeccable and prompt, with amazing recommendations from our server as well as frequent checks on how the evening is going on for us. We got a birthday cake - not a slice of cake - for my wife, and got a polaroid photo taken from us as a gift! Definitely will return!

Street parking space will be difficult to find. I believe there is valet parking available. Also, there is an Indigo parking lot close by.

Gibby’s is an absolute classic located in Vieux Port. The building is cozy, rustic and nostalgic. Steak is a must, they will cook to your liking. The portions are big, and the value is worth it. Service is top notch, they are real pros of the industry, thank you Christian! Highly recommend you check this place out.

We had such an amazing experience at Gibby’s! If you are looking for somewhere to host your event look no further! Not only are they well organized and communicative during the planning process but they are incredible during the event!
We received so many compliments from our guests and everyone loved their meals!

Excellent steakhouse in old Montréal! Service was phenomenal, food was fantastic! The bar is able to whip up any cocktails by request as long as they have the ingredients.

The only minor nit is that the tables are a bit close together. It's rather understandable given the popularity.

Would definitely consider going back next time I'm in town!

Had dinner at Gibbys with my fiancee for my birthday. First of all the service was impeccable. We had a waiter and a waitress that were very nice and friendly. For starters we had the escargot and the crab cake. Although the crab cake was a little bit on the saltier side, we could really taste the crab meat. Right before our mains, we received a lime sorbet to cleanse our palate. For mains, we had the beef wellington and the filet mignon, both cooked medium-rare. That came with a house salad (delicious), potato/rice and broccoli. The meat was so soft we barely had to chew. At the end of our dinner, we were surprised by a very nice birthday cake and a cute picture of us. Overall, a very positive experience at Gibbys. Would definitely go back.

The steak here is fantastic! The sear is great and the seasoning is perfect. I was surprised at how few pieces of asparagus came with the meal, but it was cooked well with a nice bit of crunch. I also appreciate that they give you bowls of bacon to top your baked potato. Service was slow, but we got great food at an excellent price.
