Upstairs Jazz Bar & Grill

What a wonderful spot. As an Australian I appreciated a place called " Upstairs " where the sign was upside down and the bar is downstairs .

I felt like Anelie Poulon herself when I cracked the creme brulee with my spoon . It was light sweet and divinely sensual as I savoured every spoonful.

The place was packed with people living the music and the band was on fire ! Staff also were great even able to handle a non French speaking lad like me . Recommended !

Awesome spot for live jazz, the musicians playing when we were there were just incredible. They have various shows every week.

The food was mid, but to be fair you don’t really go here for the food. Still pretty good.

Our waitress was super nice 😊

Show costs 15$ on top of your meal, but the food is reasonably priced.

Can't speak to the food, only came for wine & live music during jazz festival... Loved the cozy atmosphere, friendly staff & great music... Had to ait outside bc I didn't have a reservation, but so thankful they even made room for me. I was able to hear the music and appreciate the evening all the same!

Really great food we both had the hamburgers and the fries were really great also the deserts amazing. We had the chance to see the Amazingly talented Ranee Lee and an also amazing musicians just a perfect evening .

The service was amazing. Ordered a fish and chips and the the fries I had a wonderful experience.
The musicians are extremely talented and the atmosphere felt surreal..

The service was absolutely amazing, a very busy night with performances going on but the our server was super attentive throughout the evening! The music and the performances were one of the best in town.

Beautiful place, intimate and romantic. The jazz show was A M A Z I N G, however the food, drinks, and jazz tickets tend to be on the more expensive side. Nevertheless, it’s is truly a once in a lifetime kind of experience, it remains an extremely memorable outing!

Classic dinner & show experience! Well organized jazz bar with an emphasis on your jazz listening experience 👌 Food was standard bistro fare selection, not bad. Good prices and great service 👍The duck dish was pleasant.

The music. The atmosphere. The servers were EXCEPTIONAL. everyone was clapping, dancing in their seats, and having the time of their lives. And we went on a Sunday night. We stumbled upon it by accident and are so glad we did.

Amazing!! The food and music were the perfect way to end the night. The food was cooked to perfection and the flavours were light, yet full. Tiramisu also tasted as if it was homemade!! 🤤 Also, the live music here is spectacular and the vibe in the restaurant was fun and friendly! The only downside was the mediocre service from the waitresses as they often forgot our orders.. But they were still kind about it when they were reminded! Highly recommend this place though. Will definitely come back!!!

Wonderful place to enjoy jazz music and delicious food. I absolutely loved the jazz theme of the restaurant as well!

Staff were friendly and strict with overflow when needed. The menus and decor were delightful to look at!

It was a Wednesday night and we were looking for a Jazz bar. The stars aligned and took us Upstairs.

We arrived just before the band started playing and were kindly informed that there would be a cover charge for the show, added on to our bill. That was fine and we appreciated being informed so we went in.

We didn't have reservations, which help you sit closer to the front, but we could still see the stage. We ordered a couple of drinks, and watched the place quickly fill up.

The staff was rushed for the rest of the night. We wanted to wait a while to eat, which helped us out, and we enjoyed our drinks (the wine and Cafe Avril impressed) and the ambiance.

We saw meals arriving pretty quickly all around. A lot of burgers were ordered - they did look very good, and make people happy, as did the other dishes we saw. We had pasta and salad and finished with some cider, all of which were delicious.

The staff was friendly and attentive, and the show was nice. It was a jazz jam session, and a lot of the musicians connected very well on stage.

Everything was great. Went for a jazz duo on a Thursday. Food wasn’t what we anticipated but it was delicious nonetheless. Got the “Salmon Risotto” and although their menu does say risotto, they just mean rice. Regardless, was still very good. I got the gin martini, which was very very good. My husband got the bourbon smash which was also delicious ( I even thought so and I don’t drink bourbon).

This place was great! Despite being very busy the service was impeccable. Never received such quick and friendly service as this before! The food was great (we got a burger and a chorizo entree) and we went on a night with an open mic, the vibes were great, rly appreciated the music

Amazing vibe great music cant go wrong for live music. Desserts were on point too, unexpected surprise! Full bar, full dinner menu and attentive staff. If you bring your date, you will win great points. Good option to have periods of enjoying the music or intimate chats however the date turns out. Make a reso by phone, highly recommended!

Montreal is great for live jazz venues, so we went there on a recommendation. Ten dollar cover, but I'm ok with that when there's live music. Really cool atmosphere, and since it was a jam night, there was a wide range of musicians showing off their various talents. Will be stopping in again for sure!

Great atmosphere and tasty steak espagnol & canard. Had Moscow mule cause I’m so into ginger beer recently lol
