Beautiful place for hiking, I don't think it is friendly for fishing trout or salmon. The water was so fast, and you didn't want to bother salmon spawning.

Awesome trail, nice place to walk and enjoy nature. You will be able to listen to the water stream all the way.

I walk these trails regularly. The trails aren't too overcrowded and the tree cover is good for all seasons; keeps the rain off in inclement and shades from the sunshine on those hot days. There are a number of swimming holes along the river as well for those sweltering summer days. In the last year and a half these areas have been overrun with people due to travel restrictions. Hoping this summer is a little calmer.

Summary:
Along the river, there are a number of nice spots to get your camping chairs set up and play in the water. The water is shallow and safe to bring kids as well. I see tons of families and friends hanging out under the sun and the shade. The river right by the Lion’s Park has definitely been my favorite water/chilling spot over the summer.

Parking:
You can find free parking at the Lion’s Park parking lot. If it has no space, you can try parking in front of 2342 Elgin Avenue; there is a public parking space.

Bathroom:
There is a public bathroom in the Lion’s park. It’s usually walkable distance from where we set up our chairs.

This is a beautiful huge park with many winding trails to go hiking, this is a good place to bring dogs for a walk and children although keep an eye on them it is a large Park, Also has the river running through it and a small lake. Feels more like walking through the forest than being in park. This is easily one of the nicest parks in the Lower Mainland.

Love this park! Lots of trails to walk along, not too many people or animals, and it’s so close to the city centre of Coquitlam but feels like you’re miles away in a relaxing setting breathing fresh air. Follow the sound of the stream of rushing water from the Coquitlam River as you let your mind forget all the problems in your life, at least for a short while. There are a few maps throughout, but google maps is pretty accurate on where the trails are.

There are small lots to park at and also on street parking throughout the neighbourhood. You can find benches throughout the park and bear-proof garbage cans too. There are bear warnings throughout the park, so be aware.

One of Coquitlam’s finest park asset for trail walking, running, or river tubing! On a hot summer day, this is the place to go for some shade and cool by the water. There are no washroom facilities around but there is a portable toilet located in a parking area near Coquitlam River Park by Shaughnessy St.

Beautiful park nestled among Coquitlam neighborhoods. Shared trails on either side of the Coquitlam river. Shaded by trees. Pedestrian bridge on South end, cross over David Avenue bridge on North end to complete the loop.

This is just another hidden sparkling gem in the Coquitlam crown jewels.

Nestled between PoCo and Coquitlam along the banks of the Coquitlam River this park offers so many outdoor activities that no list can do justice.

Walk by any sunny summer day and you will hear and see children splashing and tubing in the upper side of the park.

And don't tell anyone that salmon fishing is awesome in the late fall.

To cross the water there are two walking bridges just north and south of the highway.

Such a beautiful trail to walk through. Did a 10 km walk with the mutt and chatted with so many people along the way. Perfect weather after a stormy weekend.

This is our new discovery! I took my Aussie, Bella during the heat wave. Since then we frequent the River Park for Bella's swims. Very nice place to come for a nice rest.

Always love riding the Poco Taraboulay trail along this river. Make sure you stop off at the 'Rock' for a picnic!
