Every once in a while you are surprised by a local place... you've meant to try but haven't gotten to yet.

Welcome to my weekend visit to Ganaraska Brewing.

The beer was wet, cold and tasty. The food was surprisingly great especially given the reasonable prices.

I had the pulled pork sandwich...and other than just not being exactly how I like the taste profile to be...this was easily the best pulled pork sandwich I've had in Ontario that we didn't make ourselves.
The pork wasn't dried out and was smoked with lighter tasting woods. The sauce had little to no heat and very little vinegar...so not a hybrid sauce... leaning a little sweet.

My two friends had the chicken wrap and the smoked wings. Both had glowing reviews.

We will definitely be adding Ganaraska to the regular list.

Nice brewery located just a little ahead of downtown but on way to lake trail. Has ample of parking space and selection of beers. The in house is expensive so I would suggest to buy cans and take it while strolling through the streets. Warm and patient staff . There's a patio also upstairs which I think opens in summer

What an amazing visit to this lovely Brewery. My wife Sandi discovered that Brewery on our way back from Oshawa GO station after picking up our daughter, towards Kingston where we live. Server Alex was spectacular and knew everything about all the craft beers and all were really really good. My wife and daughter tried a flight of beers and I had the Irishman and was amazing. So we took some merchandise home along with some cans. I spoke to the 3 chefs and told them the food we had was delicious. Made their day to hear positive feedback. Also met the owner and thanked him and told him we had a great visit and we will be going back for sure. Told him all his staff were great. Thanks again. Frank & Sandi.

Friendly Service and interesting menu.
We ordered the burrito and PEI mac n cheese as well as 2 beers. I would’ve liked a few more shrimps in mine :) interesting and creative salads as a side.
Generous portions and good price.

Had a great shopping experience at Ganaraska Brewing Company! Ian was super informative about their line of beers and provided samples to help with the choices. Out of the 4 delicious options i picked, my favourite is “Muscles from Brussels III”. Surprisingly smooth for a 9.2%… pace yourself!

Great spot in Port Hope. Sour beers were delicious and staff was friendly and efficient. Food was great! Lots of flavours and very fresh. Love their patio outdoors, although I recommend sitting downstairs as their upstairs menu is very limited. Also loved the Korean wings and the perrogies were to die for!

Great microbrewery located in the heart of Port Hope. Awesome rooftop patio overlooking the river ,but a lot of stairs to the roof . The lower level has larger space and more beer selection than the rooftop bar.
Good choice of small plate food at reasonable prices. Definitely a must visit if you like craft breweries!

We keep going back to this brew pub because it always has very good beer and very good food and very friendly and prompt service!

The beer brewed on-site includes lagers, pilsners and ales. Everyone has a favourite pint; mine is a New England style IPA called Hazy Rapids. If you can't decide on a particular beer, just try a tasting flight of beer. It is great fun!

The menu is awesome! It is not your traditional pub food, which is a good thing. It includes Poké Bowls, Indian and Asian-flavoured dishes, as well a few pork and beef dishes. I had an Indian Medley dish the other night served in a tagine. It was outstanding!

And when you leave, don't forget to take home an 8-pack of your favourite beer.

I decided to stop in after work since I pass by the brewery every morning and evening. It did not disappoint in any way! I ordered the "hot chicken" which was a spicy chicken mac and cheese. Delicious isn't a descriptive enough word for it. It's clearly not a prepackaged or frozen meal. The flavours and textures are all very fresh. I'm a huge fan of spice and if you are too, I highly recommend it. It has a kick!!!

I was helped at the bar by Ian. Such a friendly and approachable guy. His passion for what he does was clear and added to the vibrant environment. I ordered a beer flight and I enjoyed each of the beers I ordered. Each had their highlights and I was astonished that muscles from Brussels (9% ABV) was very smooth and even had a hint of sweetness to the flavour.

Before leaving I decided to buy a 6 pack. All beers are craft and there's a really large selection of options. Before leaving, Ian mentioned that they have a rooftop patio. I'm planning to come back with some friends on a nice day to check that out.

If you're in Port Hope, add this as a stable to go and try.

Stopped in for beer and appetizers. Got to talking with Dave, who offered us a tour. Great food and beer. Excellent hospitality. If you are in the area, and don't stop in; you're missing out on a great experience.

We went to check out the new brewery in town and were blown away by what a great experience we had. The brewery is riverside and has a gorgeous rooftop patio with a sunset view (we got a sneak peak, but it's officially open in the Spring). The beer selection includes both GBC's tasty craft beers, as well as a few other Ontario craft brews.

I really enjoyed Chef Z's food as well. I had the pork dish and it was unreal! It's neat that the two companies have collaborated, so that you can have amazing craft beer and tasty food in one spot.

The service was fast and the staff were super friendly even though it was crazy busy. Local brothers and co-owners, Dave and Steve are obviously passionate about beer and creating an experience and decor that feels local and cool (the canoe, the themed flight boards, etc.)

I think this is going to become a regular hangout spot for us.

Stopped in for the first time to try their beer and grab a bite to eat. I sat at the bar but there was a variety of seating available. Both at ground level with a view of the brewing process and on the rooftop patio with a view of the town. I really enjoyed "The Dip". There was a variety of items on the menu that will appeal to fans of various preferences. All servers were friendly, knowledge of the products and company, and attentive to all guests. I had the opportunity to chat with one of the individuals involved with the brewing and it was cool to hear the passion, interest, and focus for the product and for the guest(s). In my opinion, all beer I sampled was high quality and there was a variety of styles for all types of beer fans. I recommend stopping here for both beer and food. I will definitely visit again.

Both the food and service were amazing. We tried some Beers, Korean Chicken Wings, Beef Tacos and Burritos and all were spot on. Would revisit for sure!

First visit today and so worth the drive. Staff were super friendly and beer was great. Had The dip and it was great as well. They have a rooftop patio I can't wait to try when it is warmer.

Honestly, i had very little expectations about this place, but WOW. I could have stayed there all day/night! The staff, the beer, the atmosphere. Modern yet so many nods to the river and nature and all it entails. Somehow these guys pulled off a pretty awesome brewery w killer food that is worth detouring off the 401 for!!! These guys went out of their way to accommodate us too. Will be back, again and again!

Excellent service, delicious beer and food!

Beautiful new space along the river. We wandered over during the Float your Fanny weekend. It was a popular pick and thankfully they were able to accommodate us inside (we were a big group of 9 and they could have easily turned us away - instead they were so friendly and accommodating).
Despite being a busy weekend they have well trained, very friendly staff that kept up.
For lunch I had the butter chicken wrap. It was delicious! The salad was a unique coleslaw, chickpea, and melon that I took a chance on and I was sooooo glad I did. It was delicious.
For drinks, High Wire blueberry ale and Easy Times mexican lager were the favourites of our group.
It was a great lunch spot and I highly recommend trying it out.

Wish the GTA had a brewery and restaurant of this quality. The selection of beers exceeds any in any brewery in the GREATER Toronto Area. The staff were knowledgeable and welcoming. The upstairs patio had a view of the river and park like. I will drive the 70 km again to dine and have a brew in a most lovely town. The drive back on the insane 401 was better because of the charm and vibe of this brewery

Fantastic brewery with great food and daily specials. Took a friend there yesterday for their first time and they loved it. Our server Mallory was amazing! Very knowledgeable with all of our questions about the different beers they make on site. Had the "easy times" and will have many more with all our future visits.

Here for lunch today on the patio ...Best wings, brisket, salad ...in town.. delicious ..definately will be returning again ..Thank you chef Cody and Alex for the great service, and good laughs, and fantastic beer and wine !!
