A very well maintained campground. We went here for a night with kids. The campsite is very clean and spacious. The washrooms at the campground are equipped with flush toilets and are hygienic. Night sky view is amazing as the trees in campsite are spaced. The lake has a very nice beach and a great day out picnic spot with groundhogs roaming around in the park.
All in all a great peaceful place to be at.

Monck Provincial was really pretty. The drive from Merritt is gorgeous, we passed many pastures and cattle guards to get to the campground. We stayed there in August and it was quite warm but many sites had shade for a good portion of the afternoon and evening. The roads are mostly paved which is good for kids on bikes. There is a small playground for young children. The "outhouse" toilets are plumbed/flush. The sites were nice and level for our tent trailer. The park had desert-like terrain and was very dry but there were many places to hang hammocks and very little bugs. Mosquitoes were not an issue. The stars and moon at night were incredible. The new park water system was having challenges so we were notified prior to arriving and we brought our own potable water. We chose not to bring our dogs swimming as there were signs posted warning of a blue-green algae issue (toxic for dogs or humans if ingested). There are a number of sites right close to the water if you can get one. The camp staff were very friendly and actively seen around maintaining all the facilities.

The campground was so beautiful! The park rangers were super sweet and helpful which made our stay more enjoyable. There was a large group that was VERY loud during quiet hours and playing music late into the night. They were so loud that four different parties had complained about them. They also left food out which is a big no no when camping with the risk of bears. I applaud the park rangers for how well they handled the situation judiciously by removing the group from the campground.

Looking for an amazing Provincial Park camping spot? You have to go visit Monck!

We arrived mid-day and the check-in staff was so friendly and kind.

We went and set-up our site and we luckily got one with a view to the lake that had a little path down to a beach.

Everything was clean and well-kept! The site was on the larger side which was great! The facilities were well maintained and clean.
The park staff came by to ensure we were all set-up okay and came around later asking if we needed more firewood.

We unfortunately had to cut our trip short as I came down with food poisoning but we want to come back for a full stay soon!

We have now been here three years in a row. Love this spot. It can get quite windy, so bring extra tent pegs and guy wires.

Generally this place is really chill, not a lot of partiers, but I'm sure people do get rowdy here from time to time. The camp has a quiet time of 10pm-7am and it seems like they try their best to enforce this.

I would say this campsite is targeted toward families, as they have lots of playgrounds and day areas. They also have a large day area for people that aren't camping, that can use the beach front and large grass fields.

There are a lot marmots and due to that this whole campsite is a dog leash only area. It would be nice if they had a dog only beach, or a space for dogs to play/run together.

Most campsites, I would say 90%, have really good tree cover so you should be able to get some good shade in the mornings.

As for RV hook up's, there are tons of sites with hook up's and they allow generators within reasonable hours.

Staff has always been awesome, helpful and friendly. They have firewood and ice at the entrance for purchase, so if you forget something they got you covered.

Worse case scenario the town of Merritt isn't far away, we have actually had friends drive there to buy clothes because they forgot theirs at home, before.

We would definitely come back again and would recommend to anyone looking for a campsite that is reasonably close to the lower mainland.

Nice hidden park and campground. Easy drive, beautiful warm lake and very calm atmosphere among huge picturesque pine trees.

Monck is a great camping spot. Close to Merritt, some sites are fairly large with good privacy. Campground was clean, and well taken care of.

One of our favorite places to camp (if not our top fave). Hosts are awesome and friendly, everything is always clean and well cared for, sites have space and trees between, noise curfew is well enforced to make it a great experience for families and those who enjoy a quieter setting.
The algae bloom was cleared when we got there which was amazing!

The park boasts a stunning landscape with lush greenery, towering trees, and picturesque trails that lead you to breathtaking viewpoints. It’s well-maintained facilities and amenities also impressed me. The washrooms were clean, and the picnic areas were perfect for a family gathering or a peaceful afternoon with friends. Whether you're seeking solitude, adventure, or simply a breath of fresh air, this is the perfect destination. Great place for camping, water activities.

The good
Excellent provincial park, well kept, sites were raked - gravel base. Tables and sizing were fantastic. Outhouses were flush with running water and sinks.

Ice sold at entry way, beach is wonderful and water views are excellent.

The bad
Because of the flora and Fauna around a sun shelter is a most, don't expect to tarp anything off, the trees are to sparse, most sites see a lot of sun.
The week of August 13 saw a blue/gree algae bloom, not the parks fault, but definitely impacted the enjoyment surrounding the water.

Great park, family friendly & dog friendly. Helpful and kind staff. Quiet and peaceful campground with good sized sites. Flush bathrooms in easy walking distance from any site. Many sites do not have much shade so bring your own ways to make shade.

We camped here for 2 days, the sites are very clean and there are flush toilets. This is a very well maintained park

5 stars for the extremely friendly park rangers and I think Norman was his name, who gave us a jump start when our car battery drained by accident, thank you for being so kind and helpful!! We really appreciate it!

Note that the beach in the day use area is not dog friendly and dogs must be on a leash at all times in the campsites! There is a LOT of wildlife in the park and campsites so this rule absolutely makes sense. There is a small dog beach to the side which is perfect to let your pup swim in the lake

It’s such a beautiful place for summer, the lake and its landscape around will leave you with wow. Picnic tables are in good numbers, it has play area for kids, the campgrounds are plenty enough - found many people with camps that could be famous and the road to it from Merritt will not disappoint you. Enjoy!

What a wonderful Park. Especially the staff, who work so hard to keep everything top notch. Yes, unfortunately the beach and swimming was closed due to an Algae Bloom, but we didn't let it deter us. There are lots of lakes nearby to swim in.
Great family campground, biking, walking, even a movie at the Amphitheater one night. What a treat.
Highly recommend Monck Provincial Park.
