Went here following a short climbing sesh, fast service and a dingy atmosphere. My friend was injured whilst being tickled(what a silly move) overall successful climb day :))

Accompanied a friend to the ER, expected a huge wait based on regional averages, but was seen right away. Triage was friendly, professional, and accurate in resolving the issue. Very good experience.

Good friendly staff, Lots of previous comments about wait time but this is a common problem in most hospitals around and most of the factors are out of their control.
What I noticed and like the most about this hospital is the repeated posts for patients and visitors asking for input/feedback and rating either through signs or on the website. This is a healthy sign of good management.

I was there at the emergency room recently and had a good experience. The emergency department wait time wasn't very long. The nurses and doctor who assisted me were kind and explained everything clearly to me.

I was super impressed with Guelph emergency room timing, service and staff, The staff ran multiple test in a small amount of time to ensure that I was healthy. In all honestly I might start driving all the way to Guelph's hospital rather than London's.

Every staff I interacted with was kind and caring, despite the tremendous pressure the system is under. Overnight ER wait time was very long but triage was efficient and friendly. Many thanks to ER security, nurses, intake staff and doctors.

Great people under a lot pressure. Thanks to caring employees to take us of us when we are in need.

While the nurses were extremely friendly and seemed caring, they sent us home with bad advice, telling us that we could wait until morning to get stitches at an urgent care clinic rather than waiting 5 or 6 hours in the ER. Arrived at urgent care first thing in the morning only to find out that too much time had passed and they would not stitch. The urgent care doctor couldn't understand why experienced nurses would tell me that it was ok to wait. Disappointing experience.

As much as the nurses there are kind, the wait times are extreme. Specially at night, be ready to spend more than 6 hours. Took my 8 month old there, arrived at 730pm and left at 5AM

Emergency care is no longer emergency! Waiting for more than 5hours to see a doctor!

I brought my son to this hospital when he had a fever, hoping for medical attention. However, both the nurse and doctor advised me not to bring him with just a fever and sent us home. Two days later, my three-year-old son was clearly in pain and still had a fever. I decided to bring him back to the hospital, hoping for better assistance, but unfortunately, we faced the same disrespectful treatment from the doctor and nurse. They insisted that I take him to a pediatrician and told me to wait for 30 days.

I was adamant about getting my son the immediate care he needed and insisted on him being seen the next day. Finally, we were able to see a pediatrician who quickly recognized the severity of the situation. They made a shocking statement, saying, "This boy doesn't need a pediatrician, he needs a surgeon." It turned out that his appendix had burst, leading to an infected abdomen. My son's life was in grave danger, and he was fortunate to survive. Thanks to "SICK KIDS HOSPITAL" in Hamilton, he is healthy and happy today.

I cannot help but express my disappointment and frustration with the Guelph General Hospital. The level of care and attention provided by the medical professionals there was severely lacking. It pains me to say that taking my child to a veterinary clinic would have likely resulted in better care than what we received at this subpar hospital. Their negligence and dismissive attitude almost cost my son his life

Hands down the worst experiences I’ve had in an ER. Long wait times, staff is standoffish and judgemental.

Do not come here without an advocate by yourself if you are younger or look disheveled (as most sick people do) they will treat you like garbage.

I have tattoos and some burns as I work as a chef. I was in the worst pain of my life last night and was left in a chair for 10 hours from midnight to 10am. Every time I fell asleep I was woken up. Not told what was happening or what I was waiting for, for the first 5 hours in the waiting room and then in some random corner where I stayed out in the open for the next 5.

Couldn’t explain myself properly because my throat was swollen. Seriously was traumatic. At the end of my visit they said “we just don’t give out narcotics”. And it was like they thought I was being dramatic the whole time.

In case of emergency drive to the next hospital and not here. Staff are so desensitized in the ER, but there is a logo if there has been a change in status to approach staff. You are there for a valid reason. you will pass out from excruciating pain as I was in tears when I was here and then be told to wait until 10am until the pharmacy opens for your not OTC pain killer PO medication.

This was an awful experience. As an immigrant, you think healthcare is better in first world countries but, in the 3rd world country I’m from, I wouldn’t have waited with a really high blood pressure for 5 hours to get only a Tylenol at the end.

The staff was so rude, it felt like they wanted me to leave. I’m not sure if this is true but, I was the only immigrant waiting for attention and the only one not getting offered even a sip of water. Other patients were offered water (with ice), pillows, blankets, etc. while they waited but me and my high blood pressure and history of pre-strokes only got attitude when I asked for something to feel a little better while I waited. After two attempts, I got a Tylenol and a sip of water. I can’t help but feel it had something to do with my background as all the other patients (caucasians) were being treated with so much kindness.

Please don’t come to this place, it’s best to stay at home.

This was the worst and longest time my child had to receive emergency care. This hospital has reached rock bottom; it can't go any lower. Disgusting.

The ER staff miss the human compassion touch which was created for people like them. Perhaps they need to learn how to treat patients with the situation that the present rather then sitting around and passes on the laghter. We spent over 16 hours and only one doctor was treating everybody. This is not good for the hospital reputation. The doctor was quick professional and performed very well.
