La Belle Histoire Restaurant

We planned our entire trip to the Quebec region because of this Restaurant, drove in from NYC. After meeting the owners, Sophie & Etienne at a restaurant in Manhattan and learned they have a quaint French restaurant an hour outside of Montreal, we planned the trip. The staff, atmosphere, food, and of course the wine was nothing short of amazing. They take pride in their work and food but do not take themselves too seriously. Absolutely worth it.

This place was amazing. So charming, most amazing service and creative food. Good music. Perfectly sized portions for a tasting menu and individually paired wines for what your table orders. Great selection of mocktails. Fantastic experience. Worth every penny and will be back!

Second time we have come here. Once the full tasting menu, and the second time a-la-carte. Both times the meals were exceptional, balanced and delicious. The service is amazing, both times I had changed made for my lactose intolerance. The table service was above and beyond both times. Will come back for sure for special occasions!

This restaurant is exceptional! My husband and I and our two closest friends had dinner here during our vacation in the Laurentiens - it was a meal and evening we will never forget! The ambiance and service were outstanding- and every bite of food was better than the next. It was a truly special experience at La Belle Histoire. Highly, highly recommend!

Found this restaurant as we were staying near by.
We started with cod appetizer which was really good then went onto duck starter and deer tartare the duck was amazing really great oh and you get fresh in house made sour dough bread which was again very enjoyable dinner the main course I went with walleye fish and my partner had the vegetarian pasta also outstanding a very enjoyable experience going here, the waitress was really nice very passionate about everything the service was great food amazing and you also have a view over the lake.
All in all a great experience and would certainly recommend and happily go back.

Absolutely perfect evening- from the first bite to the last. A very special restaurant that hits all the right notes. The food is delicious, atmosphere charming, drinks refined, and the service is professional while remaining deeply warm and friendly. A total gem. Perfect for a special occasion or just a night to enjoy the best things in life.

Wife and I visited La Belle Histoire for their NYE multi-course tasting event and had a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly and efficient, and graciously accommodated our lack of French language proficiency. Each of the courses was absolutely fantastic - from the presentation to wine pairings, this was easily one of the best meals we've ever had. If you find yourself in the Laurentides, do yourself a favor and check out La Belle Histoire.

We had such an amazing food and wine experience at La Belle Histoire. A great surprise. Excellent wine suggestions from the sommelier, Melissa, and perfect pairing. Food (local ingredients) was excellent,as was the overall service. We can’t wait to return. Merci!

Just started the evening here and just wonderful! Amazing service. Great atmosphere. Fantastic house made bread. Wine is delicious. What more could you ask for. Just finished the evening. What a truly gem of a restaurant. Staff and chef are simply excellent.

This place is a "Find".
It's the only restaurant open at night in this quaint - and still off the beaten track - spot in the Laurentians. Situated right next to beautiful lake Masson - it's in a very old - well maintained - house that is wonderfully unique. Very nice atmosphere - and the tables are not too close together.
The menu is excellent (including a vegetarian option) and the chef superb. I've been there twice and everything was perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious both times. The House wine is excellent - but they also have an extensive wine menu.
Staff is very nice - bi-lingual - and I found the service quite good both times.
My only "complaint" is their love of oldies American music for atmosphere. But not a deal-breaker.
If you're in the area - this place is worth a visit.

We loved our experience at La Belle Histoire. The menu highlights Quebec local produce and is carefully thought out. We loved everything we ordered and it really did highlight our great local produce. One other thing to note about the food is that my husband is vegetarian and often feels like vegetarian options are an afterthought at certaine restaurants, but not here. He had a mushroom dish that he raves about. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, with details also carefully thought out. The service was also great, you can tell the staff had pride in this restaurant, as they should, it was truly delicious. Thanks again for a beautiful dinner that won’t be forgotten!

An absolute gem, without a doubt the top restaurant in the Laurentians. Sophie and Etienne and their team are passionate and devoted to making their guests’ dining experience impeccable every single time. Fantastic food in the coziest of locales. Un incontournable.

We visited the restaurant at the end of May with my wife and a new born. We were delighted to find this gem next to the esterel resort.

Service was outstanding. You feel as if the staff are welcoming you in their home. Very genuine , personal and warm service.
The pride everyone feels to be part of this beautiful story is just amazing to see.
Now for the food: a wonderful experience of creativity and deliciousness. The culinary creations were a fusion of flavors, meticulously crafted to perfection. The lamb was the second best I have ever had. Desert? Made out of cuncumber.... I was sceptical at first but wow. How can you create such an amazing sweet dish from a cuncumber?

Every aspect of this restaurant, from its charming ambiance to its exceptional cuisine, left me in awe. The dedication to culinary excellence, the warm atmosphere, and the impeccable service create an experience that is nothing short of extraordinary.

Took my wife for a birthday there. Was looking for some restaurant away from big city. Got a pleasant surprise with this one. I don't remember last time I was dining in the small town restaurant and have the level of cooking of the metropolitan high-end establishment. Do not expect a bill to be cheap though. It matched the level of cooking :-)

Worth the trip
For our 29th wedding anniversary, we decided to do something different and took a 95km roas trip to visit this restaurant. Fortunately, we ignored some negative reviews we read as they were only two and both made by vegan customers. Every other comment we read was awesome. We loved it! Great location, great service and excellent food. Excentricity, audacity with a lot of flavor, perfectly combined to provide a great taste that you will rarely find somewhere else. We've been attended by Sophie, the owner who, you can say, loves what they achieved. Bravo! Definitely coming back, even if it takes a 95km drive just to visit.

The food, the service and the ambiance are unparalleled! I would drive to esterel for this place alone! As an Italian, pasta is always best at home, but la belle histoire served up tagliatelle like I’ve never tasted before! Bravo! Everything was fresh and tasteful! Not to mention you MUST have their cocktail
Baboushka you will not regret it!

First of all as a first time mom leaving home with baby is so stressful! I want to be respectful of others dining, but I also want to enjoy a night out!
At the first sound my baby made I rushed for the door ready to leave, but the amazing staff that they are redirected me to a private room on the side. Got my baby back to sleep and enjoyed a beautiful evening with the most attentive service! To know I’m dining in a place that’s own by amazing humans made the whole night all the more special!
