Stepping into Canteen & Cafe for the first time was like discovering a hidden gem of Pakistani goodness. Ahmed, the owner, welcomed me like an old friend, setting the tone for an unforgettable experience. From the first bite, I knew this was the real deal - flavors that hit all the right notes and took me back to family breakfasts in Pakistan. If you're in search of that home cooked meal like me, don't hesitate to give Canteen & Cafe a try. It's the perfect introduction to genuine Pakistani cuisine and hospitality.

We went to Canteen & Cafe with family for brunch on Sunday. They were very accommodating to the big group. The food was delicious. We ordered halwa puri, keema paratha, kabab rolls, bun kabab and chai. Everything was so good! We highly recommend this place.

This is one of my favourite places to eat when I'm craving great comfort food at a reasonable price. I highly recommend the chicken tikka boti plate and the halwa puri chaney. The chicken is always perfectly cooked and flavourful, and the halwa puri is an incredibly satisfying and decadent mix of sweet/rich/spicy flavours. The chai is quite good as well, and the owners are delightful.

Wow, the food and service are super great! Ahmed, helped us navigate a major food allergy and helped us plan for a family lunch. Very pleasant to deal with, and the Chicken Tikka is out of this world! My wife is Pakistani, and we're snobby about our Desci Khana. Honestly, it's kind of Pakistani and Afghani fusion a little bit. Super fun, safe bet for some yummy eats, enjoy.

Amazing food! I love their Bun Kebab and Paratha Rolls. We also tried their Samosa Chaat, and loved it! Portions are quite generous.

Friendly service and ample space to dine in and enjoy with your family. Can’t wait to try other things on the menu.

Authentic Pakistani food. Lots of space to sit and very affordable. We tried the halwa puri and karak chai, both were very good. They also have sehri and iftari menu during Ramadan. Going to come back to try the bihari rolls and bun kabab!

As a Person who's parents are from Lahore, Pakistan, and as a Person myself who used to Work in Lahore,

The taste in the Channa and Halwa Puri, made me shed tears from remembering the streets and tastes of Lahore.

I have sentimental memories of Lahore of my family growing up and visiting there in my life and working there in my adult years.

Lahore is known as "The Heart of Punjab" and its the city where people say "Jinnay Lahore nai Vekheya, oh Jameyai Nai..." (Whoever hasn't seen Lahore, hasn't even been born yet).

The taste of Lahore is so distinct and Lahore is known for it's distinct Cuisine...

And this Canteen Cafe managed to successfully bring that taste to Windsor Ontario.

The pricing was fair considering the food portion, and the Bihari kabab was delicious.

It's a new place owned by a small family. The quality and quantity of the food feels fulfilling and homely.
I would recommend students to visit this place as the prices are reasonable and it's nearby university, accessible through 1C tranway.

On top of this they give a discount for students.

The place is recently opened so the aesthetic won't be great, but the owner was very kind and we spoke for a while. In a few weeks it's gonna get modified to a dine in standards.

Didn't have food this GOOD in a longgggg time and we eat out a lot because of our work schedule! Exceptional and authentic taste and clean! We ordered Rashmi Chicken Kebab, Shami kebab beef and chicken, Beef seekh kabab, Paratha and everything was so so tasty. Real paratha, juicy chicken kebab! Usually restaurants serve chicken kebab that has nothing remotely close to chicken but all fillers, paratha was not typical cardboard but freshly made.

Wow food, tried rasham kabab roll paratha, was amazing, unique flavour and right proportion of all ingredients. Burgers were super good, kids loved it, service was excellent, can’t wait to try whole menu!

I had a fantastic dining experience at University Canteen & Cafe! The beef bun kabaab and roll I ordered were absolutely delicious. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the quality of the food was outstanding. It's worth mentioning that this restaurant specializes in authentic Pakistani street food, which adds to the uniqueness of the experience. The atmosphere was cozy, and the staff was friendly and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a tasty and enjoyable meal. It's a hidden gem near the university campus!

We tried all rolls ( behari, chicken boti, reshmi, beef rool) and bun kababs. All were very good. If bun kababs would have with no mayonnaise, bun kabab would be like Karachi style. Definitely would recommend.

I had an absolutely fantastic experience at this newly opened restaurant! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with the warmest hospitality from the incredibly kind owners. The service was impressively quick.

Speaking of the food, I can't emphasize enough how much I loved it! The Bihari kabab that I ordered was an absolute delight for my taste buds. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and every bite was a true culinary masterpiece. I can confidently say that it's the best Bihari kabab I've had in all of Windsor, and possibly beyond.

One thing that really impressed me was the affordability of the prices. It's refreshing to find a restaurant where you can enjoy such high-quality food without breaking the bank.

Ordered qeema and lacha pratha yesterday. I just want to say that was very delicious. Quantity, quality, taste, spice level everything was perfect. Ahmad's character really impressed me. May you get more and more barakah in your business.

Owners of this place are very friendly and hospitable, food is very nice. Must try their bihari kabab role and dum keema paratha. On some weekends they do make payy and that is must try as well.

Solid pakistani street food joint. Tikka roll and nihari on some weekends. Ahmed is caringly couteous toward his customers. Oh and try the kashmiri chai.

Their Keema paratha is must try.
Also one of the best halwa puri places in Windsor.

Halwa puri breakfast was top notch! We also had kashmiri tea, elaichi tea and lassi. Great ambiance with timely service. Would definitely recommend this place!
