Take the tour!!! This makes 2 down & one to go for us. London, coming for you next. Like others have said the gear is on the high side but so is most anything else anymore. If it’s any comfort, the $5 lighters are refillable. Also if any of the employees are reading this & have an XL black button up shirt with TMR & bonus points their names embroidered on it like a true work shirt feel free to holler at your girl. I would love to waste my money on that.

This place is sooooo cool. If all kinds of great kitchy merchandise.
Jack dabbles in electronics, makes his own distortion and phase pedals. If you're brave you can play the supro guitar & pedals through a replica of his rig.
The record making is cool to look at and there are great records for sale.
I could easily spend 4 hours in this place and not be bored.
10/10 would go again.

If you’re a Detroit lover, a Jack white lover, or a vinyl lover: this place is for you. The interior is cool as hell, with an open-concept view of their pressing operation. Great merch of all the various third man records acts, and friendly staff.

This was a fun visit, good selection and the staff was very helpful. Picked up an Alice Coltrane record I'm looking forward to listening to.

The first day we were in town there was an album release, not to mention a Jack White concert in Detroit that night, so there was a literal line around the block. We didn’t have time to wait in line but I’m so glad that we stuck around the next morning for the store to open before we left town. What a neat stop for any fan of music. I prefer this Third Man Records shop over the Nashville location. The album pressing shop was very cool to see. There was all sorts of awesome memorabilia to check out. A nice amount of merchandise to choose from. Not to mention the albums on sale. We spent a good amount of time looking at everything.
We were back for a tour, Salem and Bree were great! The tour is well worth the money!

Wow! I’m a bit late to the party but what an awesome destination. You can plan a day trip around this place. Simply visiting Third Man Records in Detroit is a genuine experience. From the moment you walk through the front door you can see what a cool place this is. The attention to detail - from the sophisticated loft-style architecture, bold use of primary colors, vintage interior elements, and the captivating lighting - there is eye candy everywhere.
.
Third Man Records - Detroit - is a (lp vinyl) record store and if you didn’t already know there is a large lp vinyl (record) pressing factory in the back - which you can view from a large glass wall overlooking the operation. Also there is plenty of stylish merch. In addition to everything else this place has a stage for live concerts. Can’t emphasize enough just how awesome it is to visit… This place rewrites the meaning of hip & cool.

One of a kind spot

Choice selection of quality pressed, locally manufactured vinyl - they record live to acetate and you can only get the records here.

Absolute must visit for any music fan (especially if you love the blues) in Detroit

I was looking forward to visiting Third Man Records during our recent trip to Detroit and it more than lived up to expectations. It's equal parts gallery, museum, factory and store. My only regret was the vinyl plant at the rear of the building wasn't operating the day we were there but not surprising as we visited on a Saturday. Hard to describe the store, it must be seen to really appreciate it. Highly recommended!

Had to come here for our first trip to Detroit. Such a cool spot. Could have spent forever just browsing around. Grabbed a few records and a sweater, loved it here! So cool to see the record pressing in the back, watching through the windows, great layout, great product, great staff. Will definitely come back and make that 4 hour drive just to visit again.

A must do for all music enthusiasts. Especially if you’re a fan of Jack White. Now that pressing plant tours are back on, highly recommend checking that out. Staff is super friendly and more than happy to give recommendations or help you out. You can see the pressing plant from the sales floor, which is really cool. Plus they have some of The White Stripes era touring gear that you can use. Love coming here

Super cool record store/label/press location, great place for merch and seeing a piece of the active Detroit music scene. That sort of place that is an experience unto itself.

Wow. First of all… Salem (I hope I’m spelling it right) and the rest of the staff were amazing and friendly. Plus gave us some great advice about Detroit. I cannot say enough nice things about you two. Thank you so much.

This was on my girls bucket list places to go. It was her birthday gift to go down and see. Yes, she bought half the store. Which leads me to the actual review. If you are a fan of anything Jack… they have something’s you want and things you didn’t know you wanted.

Absolutely an amazing place. We went in a Saturday so sadly didn’t get to see the tour. But… definitely making it down again just to see that.

Again. Thank you gang. Cheers, sorry she bought all the things.

A beautiful building and store. Even if you're not a fan of Jack White or his other bands this is definitely worth the visit. It's fun exploring every inch of the store. Discovering all the history, music, and interesting pieces that has been used to decorate. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. I loved seeing the records manufacturing area. The run tours of the plant on Saturdays.

The best part is seeing the vinyls being made on the plant toward the back of the venue/gift shop. The gift shop has some really cool gifts and souvenirs. I only wish the jukebox and other interactive machines were working as most seem broken.

Third Man Cass Corridor was the first place I returned to when the Canadian border reopened after almost 2 years. Salem conducted her very first plant tour so well, that my wife and I booked a private tour last month for a dozen of our close friends. Once again, she patiently answered all the questions they had and many are planning to return.

We highly recommend both the Detroit and Nashville stores and the tour!

Fun shop to view/purchase White Stripes merchandise. The shop has a great aesthetic. The best part is watching vinyls being made in the back.

This is a really cool place. I'm definitely looking forward to visiting again. Some of the machines (house band jukebox, recording booth, etc) weren't operational at the time. But I do hope they'll be up and running again soon. Still, a really neat place.
