So Happy Golden Star Family is BACK after all the crazy pandemic stuff.We sure missed you.We got the family pack of Fish and chips! Holy whackamoly.AWESOME.WELL WORTH IT AND DELISH.Absolutely love this place! The owners are so friendly and kind. Food is excellent. Best Shawarma I have ever had and amazing donairs and subs too! Always smiling and helpful!

portions surprised me!! i was working in the area and just ordered a fish and chips for something quick and i wasn’t expecting the meal to be as good as it was and to have as much as it did. cheap but very good

I absolutely hate whole wheat flour, but somehow they make whole wheat crust work, and its the best youll ever have. Plus its healthier. Sauce is an aromatic, full of flavour, a pinch of sweet, a pinch of spices, and tastes like traditional pizza sauce from your childhood.
The crust is crisp, crunchy, yet not burnt or overcooked outside. Inside, is moist, You can tell by the fluffyness, but not wetness.
The crust has notes of what tastes like fresh bread crust cooked then hit with a dab of tasty olive oil.
The only drawbacks:
Nowhere to sit and eat, and the place looks kind of meh.
Also- they dont scan anything they just remember the prices. This sometimes results in being overcharged. So double check youre not overpaying. They will overcharge you confidently.

I was blown away by everything we ordered. The Fish and chips were by far the very best I’ve had in my life. I still can’t stop thinking about how amazing it was. We also ordered a burger and it was so juicy and flavourful. I will be coming back! By the way the price is more than fair! A+

My Husband and I shared a 3 peice fish and chips, it was excellent. I had a small gravy with mine.We both enjoyed our dinner and there was plenty of food .It may of been our first time ordering fish and chips but it won't be our last. THANK YOU

If you are looking for great value and a friendly service to satisfy your take out requirements, l highly recommend the Golden Star. Abe, Lena, & their staff are very friendly and out going, personable and family minded in every way. Our favorite is their family pack of fish & chips, great value for a very reasonable price, lots of fish & no shortage of fries, we have a great meal with lots left over for a second meal the next day, not to mention the fish is delicious & large pieces. We also found their pizza & garlic fingers excellent as well. Support local is satisfying

Golden Star grocery and video have served the Shubenacadie area for 35 years. The service is second to none with an owner who treats everyone like they are family. As soon as you walk in,you are greeted by a warm smile and a joke. The Lebanese community is loved by all in the surrounding areas. Rumor has it....that the Lebanese community is welcomed by the local Micmac tribe of Indianbrook. Boasting grocery on hectic days like Christmas eve and N.Y.E make this "one stop shop" great and solidifying it as an unofficial landmark of the town.

Excellent food, best pizza in the area, donairs are excellent, you can ask for the pita to be grilled which is nice and it stays crisp under the lovely spiced meat and sauce. Friendly staff, tons of snacks, groceries and drinks. Lots of other items on the menu to choose from.

The best fish n chips you will ever have at a pizza joint...An they use the half filet for a 1 piece...Your lucky to get a half filet for a 2 piece at a lot of restaurants an pay a lot more..

This place has the best fish and chips!! Their poutine is great and it is huge compared to other local places.

Dropped off dry cleaning. The young lady working the front counter was helpful and very friendly. Place was very busy with customers coming and going for lunch.

They make the best donair I have ever had. And you can't ask for better customer service very nice people
