Absolutely loved our visit. We stopped by today for brunch. Everything was great, from the service to the food. For service, our waitress was awesome. She constantly checked on us and made sure we had everything we needed. For food, three of us had the crepes, I had the fat boy omelet, and my wife had the boss sandwich, which she said is in the top 10 of sandwiches she has had. Also, I recommend using the restroom while there. Neat area with separate stalls and a tub with pipes coming down that you wash your hands.

Like Canada birthed a restaurant that embodies the spirit of the culture and cuisine!! The food is hardy, moorish and down right tasty. The decor is quintessential Quebec (make sure you use the downstairs bathroom, worth the trip and part of the event) we ate there twice whilst in Quebec. I think their breakfast was even better than dinner. Definitely should be on your Quebec City bucket list.

The best brunch and even best restaurant overall we went to in Quebec. Make reservation few days ahead of time and you can come straight in to enjoy the vibe and great food. Highly recommend Sugar Shack that is a good combination with variety of food and 2 people can share one. Price is reasonable and very nice service. We definitely will come back next time!

Place might be touristy but we had a good time here as you get to try some unique dishes here and the service is great and friendly. They offer some free beet salad and fried pork skins appetizer to start. The salmon tartare and poor man’s pudding are both delicious. Plus the restroom is a must see here, some one of a kind experience.

I recommend making a reservation because it is a really popular place and you will be in line for at least 40 minutes, but the place is super worth it. It's a unique place, the staff is nice, and the food (at least what I had) was amazing. The only two things I didn't like that much were the taste of the water and that it's just a bit too noisy, but the rest was perfect. I 100% recommend it.

Probably one of the best brunches I've ever had. We ordered the Sugar Shack Experience which was amazing. Everything was cooked to perfection and a great sampling of Canadian and Quebecois cuisine for foreigners. The service was friendly and efficient and the atmosphere was one of a kind. Probably our favorite meal while visiting Vieux Quebec!

Yum yum yum!!! This is the best restaurant I went to during my time in Quebec. The food I received was fantastic, very high quality. And the service was exceptional. I can't remember a time I had a more attentive server. He came over to check on me at least 5 times, always filling my water for me and making sure I didn't need anything. And the vibe of this place is 10/10.

We came here twice and loved it every time.

The first time was last year on a city food & drink tour for light lunch bites when we were scoping out Quebec City for our destination wedding. The restaurant is so unique that we knew we had to bring our guests.

The second time was this year for our farewell brunch the day after our wedding. We had emailed the restaurant less than four months in advance to see if they could accommodate a party of 25. We were worried that they were so popular that they couldn’t accommodate such a large party. We were very excited when we received an immediate response that they were happy to host our brunch. The restaurant was great at confirming with us week before if plans have changed. They were also so patient when we were ~10 min late and 4 people had to drop out last minute. All of our guests loved the food - from the savory egg dishes to the sweet crepes to the famous pea soup. I wish we took more pictures of the food but everyone ate them too quickly. Our guests enjoyed the atmosphere and could not get enough pictures in the unique bathroom. The final best part was how economical the total bill was.

Great place. I had the Irish coffee with breakfast. Kids and wife enjoyed the atmosphere and the breakfast potatoes were a hit. Everything was good and I would recommend. Only negative, no ac and it was one of the hottest days on record. But still an awesome place, also the mimosa looked refreshing. Probably should have gotten that one.

A very unique place. Though the place was crowded for lunch, they have enough capacity and the wait wasn't that long.

Many food choices. Taste is good, nothing extraordinary. But the ambience and excitement makes it special.

Parking can be tricky - but there is a lot within a couple of blocks. The street where this is on is a beautiful walk with too many cute shops and interesting artifacts.

Also, whether you need it or not, do make a trip downstairs to wash your hands. You will be pleasantly surprised 😊

My family had a wonderful time! The decor was kitchy Canadiana including very interesting washroom design. The music was rocking and the staff were enthusiastic, friendly and added to the great vibe. I appreciated the food accommodation for my daughter who is a slightly picky eater. The amuse-bouche of pork rinds with maple sauce was a yummy surprise. We ate the smoked trout salad, pate-chinois, and tortiere; all were very yummy. Arrive early as it got crowded fast.

La Bûche was incredible! If I could give it ten stars, I would. The atmosphere was very cool and the staff were friendly and efficient. We sat on the back patio which was lovely. The food was INCREDIBLE. It was the best breakfast we had in Quebec! I had the French toast, which was the best French toast I’ve ever tried, and my husband had the Quebec crepes and bacon, which was delicious as well. We’ll be back!

Great dining experience! Would recommend for anyone visiting Quebec City. They have a starter with pork rinds and two kinds of pickles. The shepherd pie was very good and made us very very full. Staffs were very welcoming and kind as well!

It is one of the best restaurant in Quebec City. We love this place and visited again after 6 years. This time we ordered the poutine which was mind blowing. I like the pork rinds and pickled veggies that they offer to start with. For mains I got the rack of deer, my husband got the shepherd’s pie and my friend got the pork ribs. Every thing was delicious. The poor man’s pudding in the end was yummy ! This restaurant ‘s decor is very vibrant. We love this place and hope to visit again. Btw, service is great too . The most unique feature of this restaurant is the restroom. If you happen to go , you will know what I mean 😊

We arrived at 14:45 and still managed to order brunch and lunch. All the dishes were fantastic! It was my second time coming back to this restaurant which all the food quality remained to be high. Definitely a must try when you visit the old Quebec City.

Friendliest staff I’ve ever experienced. Very kind with our broken French and giving us time to make our order. They were out of rabbit wings, but the pea soup was delicious and cozy. I loved the meat pie dish with the white beer. We also got the Shepard’s pie.

Looking for the Québec food and found this restaurant from the hotel receptionist. It is a really good place to go, especially with a big group. They said that the atmosphere of the restaurant was made to replicate the feelings of the maple syrup and wood worker back in the days. The food is amazing. I ordered the Québec Shepherd’s Pie and it is amazing, filled with potato, beef and i think deer meat too. The beer is also tastes good and originated from Québec. They also have variety of cocktails and non alcoholic drinks for those who can’t drink alcohol. The waiter and waitress are also amazing, friendly and also making sure that we are comfortable with everything. I will gonna visit this place again in the future to taste their other menus and beers.

Very touristy place but we enjoyed it nonetheless. It was hot and busy but a fun atmosphere and good food (tbh not really to the summer). Service was friendly and efficient and we only had to wait for about 5 min for a table. A colourful experience.

There was limited space in restaurants so we opted to sit at the bar for our meal. Best choice we made. It was comfortable and the bar staff were interactive and engaged us in conversation. Food was good and service was great. We really enjoyed everything about the evening due to the staff. Good meal.
