Tangy & Tasty Shawarma

From getting through the door, you are pleasantly greeted by owners, as if you were family.
Menu is not overly large because everything is freshly prepared and not warmed up frozen food like other similar restaurants in the neighborhood.
Would you believe it, owners make their own fresh spices and ground different seeds to make their food amazingly tasty.
This place is a live testimony of how tasty and nutritious vegetarian food can really be.
After eating here, I feel light on my feet and energized because their food is so healthy and light, but also filling.
If you are in downtown Guelph, this is THE best place to eat!

Delicious wraps! I ordered the falafel wrap and they added apples (added a good blend of sweetness to it). My boyfriend got the chicken shawarma wrap and recommends it! Definitely recommend and it tastes so healthy and flavourful.

Great local place to eat i highly recommend. The place is small and cozy and the food is very tasty and decent price for the big portion. When you start eating here you never get full. I will definitely keep coming here the owner is nice and has been running the shop for 10+years. This really is a Great place to grab a quick bite it only takes 3 minutes to make one the things that i post a picture of and its very warm and delicious.

Our of the many options for food in this area I took a chance on Tangy & Tasty and I am glad I did! I was served by great people in a timely manner and I love that they focus on a compact menu so you can be sure they are good at what they do. I got the Chicken on the Rocks (chicken and rice) which came with garlic sauce on top and I chose to go with the hot sauce as well (careful! this isn't sriracha you are dealing with!). I had gotten used to the bland versions you get at places like Lazeez but I was blown away! Great portions of high quality chicken that was flavourful by itself but the sauce took it to the next level! You have to try it! Generous portions, amazing taste, reasonably priced and great service in a sea of boring corporate chains is what this place is and you will be glad you tried it😍

Excellent shawarma on the rocks!! So damn good!!! and the people working here were friendly. Only complaint is that the place was literally packed with people just standing around that weren’t even ordering or waiting for food. ❤

After many years of having graduated from the University of Guelph, I once again found myself at the infamous intersection Macdonell and Whyndam at 2 AM after a night of carousing. I decided to go back to my roots and treat myself to a samosa and chickpeas at Tangy and Tasty. This was a dish I used to eat early on in my bar career as I aimed to incorporate plant-based foods before I was vegan. In those early years I had built somewhat of a relationship with the owner who was still there! Not only did she recognize me, but she also even remembered my name. It felt like I travelled through a time machine to 2016. The samosa and chickpeas tasted as delicious as I remembered, one of the healthier dishes you can eat to help launch the hangover recovery before you go to bed. Excellent value for your dollar...beers

I’m always greeted by the owners, who still after all these years remember me (even after being out of province for 6 years) I would always make it a mission to get my tangy and tasty. Friendliest service and always with a smile. Portions are massive and the price is right. The chicken tikka dish is my all time favourite and worth the 10 minute wait for it to be made. Go support this amazing small business, even if it’s getting a samosa! Keep up the great work

Best Indian food in town, for sure. The couple that owns it are friendly and chatty. They always ask how I’ve been and remember me even when I’ve been away for a long time (years). The samosas are fresh and delicious. I will keep going back until they close. Good food and good price.
