One of a series of quiet little parks along the Speed River, this park is named after Mr. Herbert Markle, an Ontario Agricultural College graduate who was known fondly as Guelph's 'Mr. Horticulture'. He was a District Director, Treasurer, and President of the OHA, and served the society for over 40 years.

Good sized park. The playground equipment is a little dated, but in good repair, and slated to be refreshed soon. A beach volleyball court is available, and there's an open field where fog walkers frequently gather. I was also told it becomes a skating rink in the winter. Overall another nice park along the Speed River Trail.
