I just ordered through skip from this location for the first time. Now this!! ^^^^ is authentic, flavorful and extremely well thought out and hard work put into, jamaican food. I ordered both the jerk chicken dinner and chicken curry and honestly I can say I havent been able to find anything like this since the old scarborough days. It has a kick for sure but thats what its supposed to be like! If a jamaican restaurant asks you if you like it mild or spicy... it aint legit. Cause that means they arent marinating their meats. The steamed veggies are not just bagged frozen veggies boiled up like everywhere else.... these are fresh hand cut up veggies, peppers, cabbage carrots clearly done in a pan or wok with flavour! The rice and peas... again FLAVOUR. I am so impressed and highly recommend if you know what island food is supposed to taste like. Will def order again! Thank you so much!

Extremely friendly service, deliciously flavourful food. Had the jerk chicken, mash potatoes & samosas and ginger pineapple drink. They are revamping their menu at this time but the person working kindly went through all my options with me on their tablet.

Woke up early in the morning and needed something to eat. They sell some really good food here. I was so surprised to see the variety of snacks they had to offer. Ordered enough food and snacks to last all day. Even though the delivery driver took a while to arrive. Overall it was a very good experience for such an early morning delivery. Thank you for being open so early.

This place is amazing. Love the food. The best oxtail in this part of town. Thank you for a great experience. Definitely will be coming back, See you next time.

Jamaica Snack Shoppe lives up to its name. We were not disappointed. Ordered dinner for the family. The food was so delicious. We ordered extra utensils. We were so surprised when we got them. Pretty good job guys. Keep it coming.

Omg I cannot believe that there is such an amazing Jamaican Restaurant in Durham. The food tastes soooooooooooo good. Love the vibes. The man that served us, was so friendly, polite, and extremely hilarious. Thank you for welcoming us to our new home.

We just moved to clarington and we have orded from here twice lol two days in a row! Both of us got the akee n saltfish dishes ..AMAZING! With our delivery we got a box of cookies and 2 powdered drink mixes

Best Curry Chicken and Rice and Peas I've ever had. I will be ordering from here very frequently. Closest thing you can get to being in the west indies eating it. Unbelievable. Thank you, Snack Shoppe!

Great food!!!! 10/10!! Posting this as I’m halfway through my food… it was too good not to post a review right away! I got the jerk chicken with rice and peas. Perfectly spiced and not dry at all! Sooo good!!

Decided to give this restaurant 1 more chance and spent $24 to buy butter bean ,saltfish and ground provision & it looked like dog food my mom told me to throw it away smh 🤦‍♀ chef u need to find something else to do cause this ain’t working out for u I’m just being honest ,I had to throw all the food away not to mention the dumpling was like a thick leather belt ! And pure thyme still in the food plus the person put rice at the bottom of the box smh 🤦‍♀ My goodness a Bellevue patient a cook in this place ! The food was so horrible I’m in awe that someone really let something like that leave their restaurant my mom was so shocked she said throw it away ! This place is a very bad restaurant! Run run for your lives people do not buy food from here u will regret it ! Any good reviews yall seeing on here is from their friends or family members . Run from this place as fast as u can !! I deleted my entire Uber eats app because of this disgusting restaurant.

Foods awful and overpriced and most definitely not freshly made when you order, if you just want some drinks/snacks this place is fine except they charge extra for it being cold 😂😂💀 if you want to try proper Caribbean food in the bowmanville area try starapples this place a scam

So I ordered food here for the first time and as a Jamaican myself I was disappointed in the food quality, I spend 50 bucks for these meals, I ordered ackee with food, the banana I got was black looked spoiled, the yam was the same, and when since ackee have curry in it? I was confused, the stew chicken was 2 pieces what looked like chicken some rice and whole lot a thyme sticks, I will not be ordering here again, I took pictured for proof. It's crazy someone would sell this kind of food, I called 4 times to talk to someone and of course nobody answered. Not satisfied.

I ordered their Mac and cheese paid 16$ for it plus delivery when I got it, it was literally Kraft dinner from a box you buy at the store for a dollar was very disappointed. 16$ for Kraft dinner out of a box should not be allowed to be sold.

I should've read the reviews before ordering on Uber Eats! Food is pack with Salt and have no flavor! Trying calling by the contact on line and no one pick up. I believe with no doubt that this place is a sham! My order was over 60 dollars what a joke! Shame on these guys, Shame!!!! My oprder was curry Goat Oxtale and soup!

I had the worst experience. Food was awful. Dry. Rock hard rice. I called the restaurant and complained about my order and she said something about frozen corn and I’m here trying to get my whole ACKEE and SALTFISH and curry goat order freshly replaced. There was no saltfish in the ACKEE and saltfish. Instead I get a chewy bar and some knock off brand cheese balls? When I wanted good Jamaican food and instead got this.

There was NO way this was cooked fresh or proper. I’m genuinely so dissatisfied and disappointed. Didn’t even get my money or replacement. Absolutely upset. Waste of 45$ I’m sorry but I do not recommend. Save your money. There’s other legit Jamaican places out there that take pride in what they cook and pride in they people that help keep the business up. I paid for a meal hoping it would be some great Jamaican food and it absolutely was far from.

Not a great experience. My rice was very crunchy, kinda like a rice cake. I went to get it dealt with I got no replacement or any form of resolution. I got an excuse from I think the manager or an employee who wasn’t very attentive to the issue. I offered to bring it it and she wasn’t even listening. In the end I got no replacement. The curry very was very dry and I don’t think I’d return. The service wasn’t the best and it’s overpriced for the quality you receive and if there is an issue…. It will not get resolved :/

Oxtail was sparse and mostly bone. Too much pepper and thyme. I did not enjoy and had to discard the steamed vegetables and rice.

Soup was water and way to much salt.
