Seine Boat Inn

I’m not sure where to start but I will start by saying WOW. What a beautiful place to visit and what a beautiful place to stay. I highly recommend staying here. The rooms are gorgeous, comfy and very clean. The view and sunsets are unreal and the owners are absolutely amazing, friendly, very informative about the island and very welcoming. Thank you so very much for having us, we will be back for sure!

Needed to spend time with family in Alert Bay, and found the Seine Boat Inn to be an absolutely wonderful place to stay. Room 106 is one that a couple will find to be absolutely perfect - you have a panoramic view of the bay from your room, and you're right over the water with a semi-private deck to enjoy the views and sounds of the water. The room itself is well appointed with lots of woodsy charm and coziness, the bed is made with perfect white linens, and the bathroom is nice and spacious with a great shower. You can watch the ferry arrive several times a day and you're a short walk from nearly anywhere on the island due to the central location. This was a perfect vacation!

Loved the Seine Boat Inn. This is a great place to stay while exploring the historic sites of Alert Bay. It’s a beautifully restored, old fashioned hotel with the comfiest beds, beautiful gardens and incredible views. Attention to detail is evident and the woodwork is lovingly restored, giving a warm rustic homey feel. Well stocked and you will have everything you need for a wonderful getaway. The Manager, Terri-lynn is lovely as well. She makes you feel right at home and has great suggestions for things to do in the area.

Charming accommodations in Alert Bay!

Had a wonderful stay at the Seine Boat Inn. It’s right over the water, so you can hear the waves right under you. Clean, cosy rooms that include a small kitchen with a sink, fridge, kettle, microwave, plates and cutlery. Everything you need. We were on the right side, first floor, and could enjoy the well maintained container garden and stunning views.

Terry Lynn was super friendly and helpful, as were all staff we met on-site.

We loved every minute we were here 💕

Tip: Restaurants are limited and stores close early, so plan ahead. We had our own bbq, and there are ones you can use on-site. But don’t let that deter you…the Seine Boat Inn, Seasmoke Whale watching and the Umista Cultural Centre make Cormorant Island worth a visit!

Just want to start off this review by saying that the owner TerryLynn is such a lovely human being! From our first point of contact she was hospitable, and accommodated us (and our fur family) on very short notice when we were in a crisis (camping trip gone wrong & 4 popped tires…).

From the moment we arrived at the Seine Boat Inn we were in AWE. The view was amazing. Our room was so warm and cozy & immaculate.. it felt like we were the first ones to stay. The barbecue on our balcony was a really nice touch, and we were able to cook up a meal and enjoy the gorgeous views of the sunset on the ocean. It is so hard to find a place to stay that is pet friendly and were very grateful that we were able to get away and have a relaxing night. The bed was SO comfy. Everything was perfect. 5 stars! We are already itching to go back! I just wish we lived closer!

The Seine Boat Inn is completely charming. We stayed in rooms 201 and 202. The rooms were fabulous, and even at the very end of September the flower garden on the first floor deck was beautiful. The owner TerryLynn was very friendly and provided lots of useful information both when we checked in and by email when we made our reservations. I don’t think there could be a better place to stay while enjoying the peace of Alert Bay!

We stayed here for one night. Crisp white sheets, warm cosy wood interiors and spotlessly clean. Sleeping right on the water is a experience I won’t forget soon. TerryLynn was also so helpful with our checkin. I can’t recommend this place enough

After kayaking for 8 days in the Broughton archipelago, we decided to check out Alert Bay for a few days. We are so happy that we chose the Seine Boat. with the warmest of greetings from TL, we could not have asked for a better please to stay. The hotel is so tastefully done, very clean, incredible views, and super friendly staff. I would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone staying in Alert Bay.
TL - I was sorry not to see you before we left on Sunday, we had to catch the 6:40am, so, couldn't say goodbye to you. Thanks for everything, you are the best!

My husband and I stayed here in April 2022. The location was so convenient, whether you walk, or drive onto the island. The rooms were incredibly clean, with great views. This is quite possibly my favorite Inn I've stayed it!

What a perfect Romantic getaway! What the owner did with this place is absolutely beautiful & amazing! We love it so much that we decided to stay an extra night and treat ourselves with the King size Room in 205!!! We recommend this place 100%. It’s so clean and charming. Definitely a 5 stars Hotel!

This is by far the best hotel in Alert Bay. All of the rooms have been upgraded by the owner with his own woodworking twists.

The rooms are clean and the staff are friendly. Terry, you and your green thumb rock...

The king suit is the best with the nicest view and privacy. All for just over 200 bones an evening.

Local art is also for sale in the lobby.

Terry Lynn is a fantastic host. The room I was assigned fit the bill perfectly, and came equipped with all the creature comforts anyone would need.
Being located just a few steps from the Ferry dock, and in the heart of the Town centre, you're in easy reach of everything that Alert Bay has to offer.
I'm looking forward to my next visit.

This was the CUTEST most magical place ever. We stayed in the king room at the top and it was out of a dream. The little kitchenette was so great for making breakfast and easy dinners at night, the bed was comfortable and the view was just unbelievable. The flowered terrace/entryway so so so quaint and we just absolutely loved everything about our stay here. This is THE place to stay in Alert Bay. We want to go back!!

We stayed up top where we could watch the hustle of the main Street, if you don't put any emphasis on hustle. We cooked dinner on the big outdoor BBQ, overlooking the ocean.

We admired the art in the shop on the street level.

Alert Bay is truly an authentic west coast fishing village. Quiet, relaxing and beautiful.

Great accommodation and a hidden gem in British Columbia

-Located right at the waterfront and only a 5-minute walk from the ferry station.
-This inn has a wooden balcony on each side for anyone looking for a great view of the sea from their room
-The lady at the front desk was also friendly
-Our room was clean which also had a comfortable bed

I would absolutely recommend this to anyone visiting the Northern Vancouver Island region.
You'll have to get on a ferry to get to Alert Bay.

Charming little oasis! TerryLynn is a perfect host who even supplied us with a crib board when the weather proved to be too wet to explore. We stayed two nights in room 105. The view is unbeatable, the sound of the waves lapping under the floor is unique and relaxing, the bed was comfy, the room was clean, modern and had too many beautiful details to mention them all. The only thing I was missing in the small but practical kitchenette, was a pan and spatula. Also, I would suggest bringing slippers or warm socks in the winter, as the floor (hard wood) are cold. For the price point, I can't imagine a nicer place to stay.

Beautiful quiet lovely place to stay. Beautiful inn with lots of privacy and quiet. All rooms redone with wood including driftwood. Just enough kitchen to make a meal and a Barbecue on the back deck. I want to go back again.

This place is beautiful, my #1 choice to stay. Right is in down town location, close to store, within walking distance to everywhere. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets. Small kitchens, mini fridge, toaster and blow dryer! Owner is friendly

Such a lovely spot. We stayed in the deluxe queen and the room opens to fantastic views of the water, with the ocean rushing right up under the front patio. Comfortable, luxurious, authentic.
