Plato's Closet

I brought in a few items (men's shirts) and they ended up buying a some of them. The process took less than 10 minutes. They were friendly and professional. They also have a decent selection of brand name stuff that's fairly organized.

The reviews claiming that they don't pay much are just silly. Of course you're not going to get top dollar for your used clothing. Sell it privately, or stop complaining.

I was super nervous to sell after reading the reviews, but had a very positive interaction. My items were in mostly new condition as I only wore them handful times. Out of 20 items 12 were accepted mostly from brands like- Club Monaco, A&F, All Saints, Madewell, etc. The ones they rejected were mainly sweatshirts and thin sweaters which are out of style. I got a total of $65.

There was a Levi jean which was completely new with tags attached and another CM dress I only wore twice. I could've definitely earned more if I tried selling myself on some online platforms but I didn't want the hassle. So, for me this was perfect as I got to clear out clothes I haven't worn in last couple years and get some money out of it.

Overall had a great experience. The girls working there super nice and explained how they deal with buying clothes very clearly. I'm very nervous in public spaces normally but felt comfortable in the store. It took them about 20 minutes to inspect and decide what they wanted. Will definitely come back. I've purchased a coat from last year which I still love❤❤❤

Definitely one of my go to shops whenever I’m in the city! Love the inventory and love the prices. The change rooms are super convenient and the staff are really friendly :)

Great prices on unique clothes, and they'll usually take whatever you've got off your hands if it's in good shape.

Plato's Closet was a store up until a couple of months ago --- I didn't even know existed. But my teen daughter found it and it has become a regular place to stop when we are in Winnipeg (we live out of city). I have been able to find something for everyone in my family there. Store is organized and clean. And staff are very friendly (greet you when you walk in), helpful (ask if we need any assistance ) and understanding .... Which leads me to why I am writing this review ... I purchased my daughter a gift card for Christmas and wrapped it with another present; she unfortunately didn't notice it was on the outside of the package and with all the hustle and bustle of Christmas morning --- it went outside with all the wrapping and was burnt in a fire (easiest way of getting rid of burnable garbage in the country). She was devastated and felt horrible for missing it. I said I would call when the holidays were over but wasn't expecting much because it does say right on the activation receipt that they are not responsible for lost or stolen cards. I had called the security company (listed on the receipt) to advise what had happened and they erased the balance but advised the store would be the only one that could possibly honour the money. So I called and got a wonderful employee by the name of Sydney; I told her what had transpired and she took it from there - she went above and beyond to help us out. She spoke with her manager, as well as, the owner and called back after a couple of days to advise they would honour the card and get us a new one. Now this isn't the norm to do but they did it and myself and my daughter can't say it enough how happy we are. We ended up picking up the card and spending it all and then some that trip to the store. Thankfully Sydney was there that day and we were able to thank her in person. Will definitely continue and have already recommended this store to many.

Dropped a few bags off here today to be looked at, the girls working were all very lovely and friendly! Was able to drop off and come back when notified via text. Great experience, keep up the great work!

Clean store and fast service for selling items. Their social media team is absolutely incredible with fast responses and clear advertising on Instagram. The store was doing brand releases, where I found more items of these featured brands in the regular racks rather than in their featured sections. Overall a decent shopping experience, you just have to get lucky with finding clothes for yourself!

I have been bringing my unwanted items to Plato's now for a while and I'm always happy with it! It's a nice way to declutter your clothes and make cash at the same time. Everyone that works there is awesome and so sweet. I come almost every week now to sell and shop as well and every single time they're so nice! I love the selection to chose from, I always find something I like and for great prices too! :)

Very quick service time, if Regent/Nairn location won't take in clothes, try this location, staff is very friendly and always up for conversation. Highly recommended!

Opposite of my normal shopping experience. Everything fits because it's worn in and doesn't stretch and I end up with too many good options!

By far the best of the locations here in Winnipeg. The store is big and clean and well organized. The firting rooms are nice and clean. The staff there are always nice and they keep up their IG really well!

They even have a rack of dresses in the winter for those who are looking for some fresh looks for that trio somewhere warm!

Definitely recommend checking it out!

Reluctantly took my 13 year-old daughter for a quick look-see...and left an hour later with an awesome Lacoste polo and sweater!

As for my kid, she got 31 bucks cash for some old clothes. She then spent twice as much on ‘new’ stuff she was giddy to find (including a fashion top from a US-only brand).

Yes, the place is totally jammed. Visiting on a Saturday is like running with the bulls in Pamplona. But it’s such a kick picking through crowded racks and suddenly discovering some amazing find.

Great place with friendly helpful staff. And best of all: it’s recycling of the best kind.

One of my favorite places to visit in the city! The staff are always super friendly and process buys as quick as they can, Plato's also offers a ton of sales and coupons which increase the savings even more which seems impossible sometimes! Definitely recommend a visit, half my wardrobe is from here it seems.

I love Plato's closet, always an amazing time. It doesn't feel like a second hand store and you know everything has been inspected for quality. I prefer this one over the other two in th city because it's so well organized and spaced out, the staff are super attentive.

I have driven past this place for years and I wish I had found this place a while ago! So much used clothing in there for a great price. The stuff looks barely used, if they were even used. I will definately go there in the near future. It's worth the stop.

Good thrift shop has great prices and good selection. Better shopping experience then a salvation army or value village for discount clothing.
Got some good jeans and shirts from the men's area. Also has lots of men's and women's footwear and clothing. Would recommend for a bargain day of shopping.

I really love ❤ the atmosphere. I walk in, get greeted with the warmest smiles and salutations. I used to work for retail and these guys and gals are adherent to the philosophy of excellence in both customer services and product knowledge, basically speaking, they perform their tasks very very well and that they follow my simple philosophy and strategy of a TRUE retailer. Unlike some big box stores that try to make a commission by pushing the products to the customers, Plato’s Closet staff just kindly asks for your bag(s) to be left behind their counter (which is great cuz it saves my back) and I have the time of my life going through the awesome selection of great deals and great merchandise and the staff lets me be. Keely and all the whole team are my favourite people because they know who I am and as such greet me and make me feel very happy and satisfied as not just a customer but as a complete person. Way to go guys!! And keep up the great 👍 work that u guys do. I’m really glad and honoured to have known Plato’s Closet in both the staff and company. Thank you so very very much.

They make sure the clothes are in good condition and the prices are more than reasonable. I'll definitely shop here again.
