Furby House Books

Randomly stumbled upon Furby House, and it has become my favourite book store. Such a classic book store environment! My daughter said "mmm, smells like a library" when we walked in. Really awesome kids book area.

Loved this bookstore! In every small town we visit, we look for a bookstore… and this is one of the best we have visited! Great variety of magazines, books and puzzles with friendly and attentive staff!

Atmosphere is a 10/10. The staff always have great recommendations, wide variety of stock & can order anything in that you may be looking for.

Excellent selection of books and magazines including children's books. Also a great place to get a jigsaw puzzle!

Furby’s is such a wonderful book store. I’ve ordered a few books from here and they come in quickly. Their selection is excellent, especially for baby/kids books.

Furby House is an absolute gem of a store. It's not just the vibe and the selection that I appreciate, I love how helpful and knowledgeable the staff are. Their recommendations have been spot-on, and my kids are constantly impressed with the options for kids. Thank you Furby!

I have visited this book store on a few different occasions and have never been disappointed. This Book store may be smaller but it is beautifully displayed and has a wealth of historic value. Furby Books has an excellent variety but specializes in local and Canadian authors. They also stock some of the best written and illustrated children's books. If you stop in Port Hope and want a memory to bring home with you, I would highly advise visiting Furby Books.

This is a great, little book store filled with local authors and only quality writing. A nice selection in a beautiful, old building. If you're looking for a gift for someone who likes to read, or for a book to pick up for your collection, this store is worth the trip. It's pleasant to leisurely browse in an uncrowded bookstore and be able to have the tangible experience of looking through a book that you're going to buy.

I've purchased sporadically over the years since I've lived in Port Hope, but I'm blown away by their service during COVID19. I've placed two orders since the pandemic began and both times they have been willing to take my card info over the phone and deliver to my home. It's wonderfully small town that I can call from work to purchase a book and come home to it in my mailbox! I will be continuing to purchase from Furby House. Fantastic customer service and a great selection!

A fair-sized book store that held my interest for a good half hour. I should mention they have a section with books from local authors - and thus I took home a meaningful memento from this trip to Port Hope!

Probably my favourite little book shop in the area, the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. I always come out of here with something new.
