Love the soaps here!

My faves are both Peppermint, but lately I’ve been crazy for London Fog scent.

The owner Sherri is always helpful and has great suggestions based on what I already like.

I love supporting small businesses, and this one has great products. I buy soaps for all my friends and family here, and look forward to the seasonal return of Boo! (like tiger tail ice cream)🤤

Great selection of rocks & crystals too. Loaded up on them as a gift for a niece, she loved it!

Great place for hand crafted soaps and other small batch personal hygiene and cleaning products. There was more but they were for making other things (tools and supplies) The owner was very helpful and had a great sense of humor.

So glad to see they’re still in business at this new location. A terrific source for supplies to make soaps and other cosmetics. Helpful, knowledgeable staff!

Amazing experience here! The owner, Sherri, has such a warm heart and a beautiful selection of gemstones! The gemstones here are cheaper than anywhere else that I have gone and they are excellent quality! She educated me on the best carrier oil for my dog and had such a caring energy. Thank you Sherri—I will be back after I get my paycheque!

Rene definitely is a great teacher. I love taking her classes and learning how to make all kinds of fun product. It's also wonderful that you can book in for studio time. To make your own products, as well buy her ingredients. She makes it easy for those of us who don't want to buy all the supplies!

Rene is lovely, patient and kind. I made my first batch of soap with her years ago and love her soap. Since then she has expanded her line exponentially and her products never disappoint.

Love, love love this place.

Only downside is parking is a little tricky being off to main roads and in a wee parkade.

I LOVE this place. Classes are fun and studio time is awesome when you don't want to have all of the items in your own home. Rene is a great, easy going, patient teacher. She is also so calming. I've moved just south of the border but still make time to come here I can because I enjoy it so much.

I came here to check out their essential oils, and they have some very rare ones including honeysuckle, lily, and tobacco flower! The owner has been working in this area for decades and I could tell she has a good and long relationship with her essential oil supplier for quality. I will definitely come back as there's quite a lot of interesting items there!

What an amazing place, run by an equally amazing mom and daughter team.
Classes are fun and informative. The shop sells almost anything you might need to make your own natural cosmetics or cleaning products. A product line is also available, including divine smelling soaps.

I have taken many soap and lotion making classes from Karma Suds over the years. The owner is very passionate about teaching and creating nourishing, high vibe products using all natural ingredients. She is also a strong advocate against the use of palm oil. Love the new store location and all the magical offerings!

Great place to attend classes (soap, shampoo, lotions, etc.) and learn how to craft your own soap, or buy your own already made. Owner Rene and her daughter are awesome and love to share their passion for home crafted soap using organic ingredients. Rene is a patient teacher.

Took a cp soaping class here. Rene, the owner, is very knowledgeable and a quality instructor. The store is nice and they have soaping supplies. I love the palm industry awareness that she brings to her business/students too (everything she does is palm free for good ethical reasons).

Beautiful selection of handmade soaps and more!! The people working there are awesome - friendly, helpful and if you're into making your own soap, they give classes on it! I visited to get a new soap mold and some other things and the owner shared a bunch of soap making tips with me... much appreciated!

I stumbled upon this cute little shop while we were grabbing a bite at Mr Subs. The staff is super helpful, and the store houses different “soulful” items from crystals and essential oils to small zen gardens (bought one, so beautiful). Excited to come back here again and shop some more!

I have learned to make soap here, and I keep coming back to make it again. Rene has everything you need and more to make quality products, and she sells great stuff also. I have learned to make my own conditioner, lotions and scrubs as well. Try her Hair Peace shampoo and conditioner, it's amazing! And she does not use Palm Oil. Yay! Save orangutans!

Great little local business specializing in natural soaps & beauty products. Mother daughter team hand make everything in the store. Got a few different soaps & they all smell lovely & clean really well without over drying my skin.

Karma Suds is a Vancouver gem! Especially for all you DIY’ers and natural ingredient lovers.

I discovered Karma Suds at the East Side Culture Crawl (location has since changed to a great little spot off Renfrew neighboring a delicious Vietnamese restaurant called Basil Garden)

I love the palm-oil free approach to soap making and the selection of natural ingredients. The variety of workshops are many, name what you wanna make and it’s there though you might have to wait some time before getting a booking as Karma Suds gains popularity.

Thank you so much for the in-depth and educational Cold Process 101 and all the help along the way as I explore ideas during Open Studio. I really appreciate the loyalty programs and if you’re looking for face moisturizer please try the one sold in the retail nook - it’s the only one I’ve ever tried that’s light, hydrating and packed with good stuff like natural SPF raspberry seed oil.

Rene is a patient instructor with lots of knowledge that she’s generous to share if you take the time to ask.

Recommendations for first timers:
1. Show up on time - don’t make others in the workshop / open studio wait for you.
2. Be patient. Soap takes time!
3. Go easy on yourself - creative process includes making mistakes.
4. Wear clothes you don’t mind getting messy. You’ll be playing with oil and ingredients that may stain clothing.
5. Come with some ideas. There’s a bazillion options out there for colours, essential oil blends. If you put some effort into brainstorming you’ll use studio time efficiently.
6. Be ready to bust out your favorite 90’s dance moves!

Suggestions for improvement:
1. prioritize getting your new website up and running ASAP as it can be confusing to find/book Open Studio time. I’d love a way to be on an electronic waitlist where I get a call/text or email when I’m bumped into a spot.

2. Reconsider the circular tables for space management - maybe some narrow rectangles could make it more comfortable for a few people to share space.

Love and gratitude to the whole team at Karma Suds!!!

Rene has been sharing her love of soap making with thousands of folks for years! As a graduate from many of her classes I can say she is the best teacher!
