Fresh cheap produce, bulk beans, lentils, and olives, and delicious frozen fruits at a bargain. Chaotic atmosphere with friendly staff and customers. Will be returning again and again.

The best kept secret in Montreal! Thanks for the significant difference you make for many families! Top quality healthy products at unmatched prices. Thanks for being there!

Very crowded on a Sat. afternoon, so I returned another day before noon. Found lots of fresh produce (some grab bags for just one dollar!) and many vegan products, including $4.99 frozen Gardein ‘meats’ (even the stuffed turk’y - a great price). Olive bar. Bulk bins of beans. Everything at very good prices. This would be a regular grocery source for me, if I lived a bit closer.

Let's be real, this place ain't pretty, but it's a local gem. You better have your game face on when you go shopping here because it's kind of chaotic, but they have the best prices on the best selection of healthy foods. I come here every week like most locals in the Plateau.

Amazing selection and great prices on bulk goods (especially dried beans and legumes)!

The store is not fancy but the prices are great. Huge variety of goods with the same quality you could find in other big stores.

It’s a Hidden gem. Excellent place I love it. Affordable prices, Kind staff, strategically located, wide variety of grains, pasta, fruits and vegetables. You can Bring your own bag or use their cardboard box

Excellent store for people with allergies with food gluten free. Lactose intolerance. Plus many items that are much more expensive than at a bigger supermarket. Seagulls has existed for as many years almost as myself. No picture taken. But it’s truly less expensive and really great products.

I am truly so grateful to all the folks that run Segals, in these times of crazy grocery prices, it's so nice to have a place where I can go and consistently get groceries at great prices. I love food and cooking so much, and Loblaw's etc's price gouging was breaking my heart. now I don't have to put up with that! Also I kinda love the crazy and cramped environment. makes it an adventure!

Iconic Montreal staple for cheap groceries in a chaotic space. You need to be mentally prepared to shop here especially during the busy hours, the aisles are tight and items can be hard to find. But you can’t beat the prices, especially on fruits and veggies—items can be half the price from a bigger store.

If you’re not barging shoppers here you’re not really doin it right, I come for the experience mostly but leave with a bocs full of fresh fruit and veg. Long live this local institution.

Great prices in a very retro style environment. Long lineups move fast, lots of organics choices

This place was on my routine route to the gym, on the way back I would buy groceries for the next day/two.
Prices are really good.
I found the same items (same brand & package) 30-40% cheaper than other markets.
There is a certain vibe I like as well... There is a certain flow to the market (direction of movement), workers constantly restocking and getting out of your way - or you getting out of their way..
If you live close, you are probably already buying here anyways. ;-)

I finally got to visit it. This place is a gift to this neighborhood. I hope it lasts forever. You find excellent items at a decent price without traveling to many places, food and grocery, organic and non-organic

my safe place, my heaven, will look for a house within the area to have segals within 1 km radius

Amazing "ghetto style" nom commercial local grocery market. Good prices and huge selection 👍

Dear push & shove - I will love you forever, no question about that!
The salt cod air was a balm for my soul. You might carry more fancy/organic things now, but you’re still the same beautiful bare and hardworking grocery you always were. Thank you!

Segals has a special place in my heart. There’s something magical about the smell of fish that’s hits you right in the face when you get near the back. Or maybe it’s that I’m always afraid of getting yelled at by the staff if I don’t lineup properly. Either way, I don’t know why people complain about the mold on a few items. At the end of the day, my immune system is stronger because of it. Segals, never change.
